I personally think this will go beyond online services. It'll likely extend to "oh if you want to sell a phone in the EU then it must have backdoor client side scanning". "oh of you want to be a telecommunications company providing services in EU they you must enforce call recording and SMS scanning". "Oh btw if you want to sell cars in EU then spread those buyers' assholes wide because you know well be stuffing a camera in that as well".
Yes. Fuck the platforms/services. Least concern. I have no doubt they'll be milking this law until we're all thanking Ursula for letting us, the feeble minded plebs, lick her goddess-boots.

You're gonna install cams in the bathroom so you can quickly detect cases of parasites? Or, more likely, fucking drug meters in every drain so they can tell right away if someone is smoking illegal plants at home.
This shit better get rolled the fuck back.

There's several problems but the biggest problem IMO is these bastards won't accept a fucking no. We voted no. Get over it. Right? But they won't. I agree that any private or public company can make their terms clear and anyone who willingly participates can do so — no problem there.
What is problematic is a super-national corporation overruling national constitutions under guise of protecting the children even when that same corporation has received a NO vote. And not just once. They just keep pushing this shit. I bet anyone who turned from no to yes is in the fucking Epstein files or some shit like that. What else could corrupt a person to such an extreme degree? These people also tried making exceptions for themselves, and I'm not even shitting you. They'll be scanning everyone but themselves. Funny how it's all rich and famous people who do nasty shit to children but they get a pass on the scanning. Lol. Fuck that, man. GG WP to anyone European.

Everyone who was on that ship, capture them and isolate them until no longer contagious. Ezpz. Should have washed your hands and stayed away from sick people.
This is only contagious with close, prolonged contact. These people on that boat prolly were screwing left and right.
Now they gotta pay the price by being contained for a week or two.

My friends, who love to shit on/trash talk centralised social media, saw my recommendation of certain nostr clients, then when they saw my screenshots, the only thing they focused on was the fact that zaps work through bitcoin/lightning payments - they instantly noped out (and yes I am disappointed). It could be interesting to see if the normie mode approach here will attract more people (though in all honesty, I don't get why they have so much against Bitcoin and zaps - they can just not use it if they don't want to).

"Meme stock" is a diissive term invented by the shorties. You should avoid using it to describe $GME. It gives the impression it was all 4tehmemz, however it is a real situation that is still unfolding.
Just you wait and see. Patience is essential here. With legacy short positions being wrapped in equity swaps, the real short interest is hidden from the public. Also, did you perhaps notice how all these REG SHO laws keep getting postponed? Woopsie. Funny how that happens right? Its almost as if enforcing short position disclosure is a risk to society. Wonder why? It couldn't be that the hedgies have fucked themselves and gambled society on GameStop failing now, could it? SHOCKER.

2026-03-27 12:24:56 GMT

Forgot to hype GME and GameStop on here for some reason.
GameStop just presented annual earnings for 2025 and Q4'25 quarterly earnings on Tuesday.
I shit you not. They beat expectations for the seventh quarterly report in a row. MASSIVE net gains. Annual EPS above 1$, Q4 EPS 0.49$.
Now how's that for a so-called "MeMe sToCk"? Lol GTFO Kenny and eat your mayo.
It's gonna be a long and cold winter for the hedgies, sleeping on the New York streets with no money for blankets or cardboard, like they deserve.
Can't wait for the equity swaps to unwrap and the hedgies to shit their pants. Citadel will crumble and fall, and regular citizens invested in GME will be the last ones standing. I suggest no mercy when the time comes. They fugged up, they pay the price.
It's prison for life if not bankruptcy and homelessness. That's what awaits little kennyboy and his co-conspirators.
You best believe I will be gloating when the time comes.
Fuck you, Ken Griffin.
Fuck you, Andrew Left.
Fuck you, SEC.
Fuck you, pay me.

My personal opinion on ETFs in general is they should be outphased or banned, or we need added laws that ensure much more transparency.
With ETFs, "trusted market participants" (i.e. certainly not you and me - more likely, a select few multi-billion dollar actors) are trusted to manage these funds. They can be abused in order to naked short sell shares (which is very illegal under normal circumstances) through operational shorting.
Also, I am super sceptical about most people investing in ETFs because it shoves ever increasing amounts of the total market into the hands of these selct few greedy no-good perps.
But yes, we have to live with them. They have become a cornerstone in the financial markets. I just wish they hadn't. Not that my opinion actually matters, lol.

I'm fairly convinced most Americans couldnt care less about the rest of the world.
They get what they voted for. Cheap eggs and a rich country. Who cares if it requires plundering?
I think that's how Americans think, in general.
Mind you, they voted for the guy, in spite of several criminal indictments, a horrible attitude, a big lack if humor, and bring filthy rich.
Americans are nationalists at heart. Why would this not be what they want?

Armed robbery of an ally. This is modern day USA.
The message is clear: every man for themselves. It's a dog eat dog world. And USA will stop at nothing, not even betrayal, in order to acheive its goals. I get it, to Americans this might seem cool and all, but it's completely unreasonable, unwarranted, unjust, and unnecessary.
It's really not like Denmark can do anything about it if USA invades, except stop any and all collaboration with USA.
But it's pure bad manners and sets an extremely dangerous precedent.
Why wouldn't Russia expand further, seeing this? Why wouldn't China? It's risking wars breaking out globally.
Do Americans care? Probably not. They were promised America first, and that's what they voted for, so they're probably just fine with the rest of the world going to shit. As long as the eggs the gasoline gets a little cheaper, it's all good.
This could get much uglier than just USA seizing Greenland, supporting a genocidal sect in the middle east, and cutting ties with a few allies.
Maybe not for USA, because they have the largest military forces on the planet, or at least the most military power.
Then they can eat their steaks and cheeseburgers alone, watching the rest of the world burn, victoriously laughing at the spectacle. Congratulations.
No friends, but at least you can afford to pay taxes to the billionaires and still eat well.
The dream?

IDK why you think we'd celebrate this, but I can assure you we won't. There might be a few people who would welcome it because they love DT or because they would happily avoid paying millions in support to Greenland, but the vast majority would see it for what it is, which is an act of aggression towards an ally.
Though I do agree that we have even bigger problems than this hypothetical scenario, unfortunately.

Wolfspeed is one of very few manufacturers of silicon carbide wafers.
They have recently undergone a chapter 11 bankruptcy.
They have alsorecently received ~$700M through tax deductions, money they had NOT already allocated, but have now decided to spend in part towards reduction of their rather enormous debt (CH11 bankruptcy involves refinancing and restructuring. In this case, the debt was reduced 70% from $6.5B to $2B).
Their products are unique in a time where demand for them is increasing.
I will personally keep a very close eye on this stock.
This is also a great opportunity to note that this (selling more than the entire float of a security) would never be possible with Bitcoin or tokenized securities.

2026-01-05 00:03:02 GMT

The goofballs on Wall St. have done it again.
WordSpeed, an American chip manufacturer, has been shorted so much that MORE than the entire float has been sold before being bought (i.e. sold short).
For those that remember, in 2021 the major financial institutions made the exact same mistake: they sold more shares than existed. When regular people realized that this implies fraudulent activities, such as naked short selling, where a market actor sells shares without borrowing them first, and consequently were at the mercy of actual shareholders being willing to trade the stock below these institutions' entries, they simply decided to stop selling any shares back to the crooks in suits. Instead, they started hoarding these shares, because they knew the short sellers would have to close their positions eventually or risk getting margin called.
This resulted in an explosive move to the upside, with GameStop shares increasing by more than 11000% within a period of just six months. It is still trading more than 350% above the price before the explosive move in question.
I wonder what might happen if investors in this particular American chip manufacturer did the same now... Would one see a similar situation play out, or have the bad actors found ways to avoid repeating their old mistakes (well, obviously, they've done the same old unethical thing, but can they now avoid a sneeze?)
This is, of course, not financial advice, since I am just some random pleb with no education in financing. You should probably not make financial decisions based on what random people on the internet post. That includes me.

I don't mean to trash this initiative entirely, but I do have concerns over the "both sides" part being just the two main political perspectives. I fear initiatives like this will only widen the gap since it essentially implies there are only two perspectives: red or blue.
This could, worst case scenario, cause further radicalization, by presenting search results as explanations where for example "red thinks this", which might make red voters more inclined to be gaslighted into thinking the same thing (and vice versa for blue).
I thought maybe this isn't about red or white, but truly always both sides, even when politics isn't involved. For example, I just queried it with a question regarding shirt selling of GameStop shares, and whether it occured in a legal or illegal manner, whether the short selling could be hidden through operational shorting (ETF creation/redemption, swaps, and other measures that constitute de facto short selling, but so not require reporting of these transactions to financial authorities).
The result was presented to me in the same way as my query, so it might give a reader the impression that one side of the political spectrum is in support of the continued potentially illegal and in any case dangerous short selling of stocks.
IMO, this wasn't a question of politics, but rather a question of lack of enforcement of rules (by FINRA, SEC), and the whether individuals and corporations/financial institutions are treated equally under the laws that already exist and (should) apply to the free and "fair" market(s).

New alliances will be made; the long-standing USA/EU cooperation sentiment has died, and if he is about to declare war on one of USA's most faithful allies throughout history, why would ANY country want to cooperate?
It's a sick and twisted situation. A few years ago, no one would have thought any of this would happen.
Denmark is so fucked if he decides so do it.

Sickening beyond belief!!
Former member of Danish social democratic party receives pension meant for early retirement of those who cannot work, which in itself is absolutely absurd, considering the reason is he has been convicted of possession of terabytes of child pornography.
The fact that he's receiving any pension at all is completely fucked up.
But it gets worse. He's paid WAY MORE than any regular citizen would be paid in case they were unable to work.
He should have any rights to anything revoked permanently and work for free for the rest of his life, scrubbing the toilets of the prison where he will spend the rest of his days behind bars.

You're right, though, that we shouldn't put too much into this, I'll give you that. It's been accepted for a while and even though the amount is larger than usual this time, I have to agree we probably can't assign it with any particular impending collapse.
If the amount had been borrowed outside of the cycle ends, or we saw several consecutive days of borrowing of this magnitude, I think we should start preparing for a scenario not too far into the future where banks would collapse.
I was being a bit too frantic in that first comment, for sure.

It's not really that hard once you realize Jew ≠ Israeli and Israeli ≠ Jew.
Anything out of the state of Israel has a tendency to be absolutely intolerable, whether it be the tourists expecting special treatment, or the missiles they fire on a daily basis towards people who didn't do anything against them, or the constant lies and propaganda, or the continued illegal occupation.
I have nothing against jews. In fact, I don't give a shit what religion people subscribe to, though in general I've found non-religious people to be more tolerable than religious people if I must be honest. When it comes to ethnicity, I also could not give a damn if I tried to. Its not like anyone decided to be their ethnicity. But you can decide to renounce the state of Israel, even if you were born there, or even if your whole entire family is comprised of nutjob israelis.

See, the whole window dressing phenomenon in itself is worrying. Why this need to cook the books at cycle ends? It reeks... Yeah "its the rules that's wrong" or something is what follows this as a reply, I'm sure, but is that truly the case? Should we all just accept that banks are "dressing up the balance sheets" and the feds are aiding that process? A functioning bank with no concerns shouldn't have to fiddle around like that simple for nicer looking numbers. Smells like a malpractice honestly, though I am aware it is "usual procedure". Also, the amount borrowed from the treasury is the largest in several years. If there's no need explanation other than the usual "oh it's normal they're just cooking the books because that's what they always do", then why the record breaking number? At which point would we consider the amount borrowed from the lender of last resort as something worrying instead of just brushing it off as "business as usual"?
