When Trump was elected in 2024, I felt like we had just witnessed the last free and fair election in the United States for a generation or more. It’s not that it will be impossible to defeat the fascists at the ballot box in 2026 or 2028, but the barriers to a democratic path out of fascism are going up fast. Voter disenfranchisement, intimidation, and outright fraud will mean that a slim majority can no longer succeed in unseating the fascist Republican regime: we will need an majority that is such a landslide that it punches through all attempts at disinformation and pseudo-legal tampering. The longer it takes, the greater the landslide must be.

I just went ahead and emailed the treasury department with a civil liberties complain regarding the theft of our private data. If you’ve ever paid taxes in the US, please consider doing the same.

It annoys me to no end that this article reporting on preventable deaths due to the tragically flawed design of Tesla’s doors then goes to “general concerns about the safety of electric vehicles.” No, it’s not a general problem with electric vehicles, it’s Tesla’s awful lock design. The NTSB should have stepped in long ago to force Tesla to redesign these door locks so they can be opened from the inside after an electrical failure. Now it will never happen.
