I was reading your website last night and stumbled upon the Apple II Power Supply article.
Of course it's prior art. Steve Jobs was an early version of what I call the boardroom bullshitter.
The undisputed leader in modern SMPS, according to me remains Robert A Mammano. His book is near my desk at all times, even though I am considered very talented in switch mode design.

A fast glance and it strongly reminds me of custom calculator chips

I imagine this circuitry to be not much different to the integrated circuits made in the late 1960s that were explicitly designed to implement desktop calculators.
Indeed it sure feels that way

This will not fly in SA, most if not all apartments aka "townhouses" are part of body corporates and you know how those people are. Even in Cape Town, in Sunningdale, there's similar called HOAs, and what it boils down to is a bunch of old geriatrics lording over the majority and enforcing rules, your house can't look out of kilter etc.
You're not allowed to even put laundry on the balcony... what do you think will happen if solar panels are put there... Fines, brawls, and lawsuits.

Or you can use Parallels, install Windows within, and run the games.
It is worth mentioning that I got a lot of games to run on a MacBook Pro (2019) with a mix of Parallels or Winetricks

I don't know what you mean but I learn from books. The internet in its heyday provided me with an endless (and boundless) fount of knowledge that enabled me to earn a living as a developer. I learn from reading, and then putting what I learn, into practice.

It's a known fact.. Gen Z doesn't read. I blame TikTok, YouTube and Instagram and not forgetting X. It is how it is. I have written a number of books, starting in 2003. In 2003 everyone read my stuff. In 2021, nobody!
Books are dead, nobody reads anymore.

I recommend you hire an accountant and let them deal with SARS like I have done. Also, they will likely enable you to pay less tax to these thieving bastards

The only time tech is good for my health is when I am disconnected from the internet by choice for a few days, and have a breadboard, some retro CPUs, lots of parts, jumper wires and a pencil schematic of what I want to do. Mastodon is all right for me, everything else (YouTube, etc) not so much.

This from my experience with SSDs:
1. When they fail, they fail good and solid. In other words you're basically either stuck, or as one other person on Mastodon did, you identify which chip failed by temperature test and stick a big cooler on it and try and salvage what you can. I have never had one fail in read-only mode. All of them failed into completely unusable mode. I was able to RMA one of them, the other, went to FILE #13.
2. The optimizations mentioned I have all of them enabled but my drive is now on 96% health in 2 years. I am not waiting for it to fail, I am going to replace it with NVme as soon as possible.

I normally only replace my mobile once every 5-6 years, this month it had to be done because the old one kept switching off due to a failed battery. Since it's out of the box let's personalize it:

There is such a group in my area too. I left because they had an issue with me calling a CoCT worker an idiot, after I was able to produce a video of the CoCT garbage truck ingesting a resident's bin instead of emptying it (resident got home and was in a state of panic thought her bin was stolen). In said video you can see worker was clearly more interested in other things and not paying attention.
So I just left... they added me back later, I left again

Forgive me but my experience with radio hams has been that the only ones I ever see are pensioners, and with that comes a certain amount of politics, not unlike the politics in sectional title schemes.

It appears to use a DRA818V module
Very simple in principle and not difficult to do. However, I am surprised because I thought amateur radio is dying out due to technology.

The platform could also solve another problem, making patient records digital like they are in the private hospitals but IDK, that would be something that government would get upset about because they would be then denied any trough feeding opportunities.

The most common cause of SD card failure in this application is due to people doing stuff on an SBC that does a lot of writing to the SD card- high write cycle count wears out the underlying FLASH memory. That's the most common problem. It is not an RPi specific problem either, nor does this apply only to RPi

For me personally all that I can use right now is a SATA SSD. The next step will require a complete upgrade (which has to happen within the next 12 months because of TPM 2.0 being enforced in games and other things). Limited income- zero salary increases and high cost of living is putting off any upgrade in the short term.
When I have a new system, then of course it would be NVMe. Until then, I have to make do with what I have

With regards to stego I am going to give you my expert advice here:
The only one that is accepted by people smarter than I am, and people who live in the shadows, is Outguess.
And the x86 variant. Because neither the RPi version or anything that was ported to macOS will be able to decode the messages. The author of Outguess has made it very clear why his solution is probably the only proper, peer-reviewed and scrutinized version
Outguess was extensively used by Cicada3301

That was also a fantastic shot, must have been a Nikon that took that with extremely good film. Can't get photos like that with even midrange DSLRs today

I see awful lots of white spaces. Having experience with Reed-Solomon, EFM, and other coding schemes, that just doesn't look right to me. Additionally printing on paper these days, and doing it well, is not difficult. Considering that a high resolution image on A-4 sheet of paper will easily be a large BMP file of many megabytes, why only 200k? Nah! QR codes and PDF417 store a lot in the small spaces they occupy so this just doesn't make sense to me

200kbytes seems a bit low, very low. I can do better than that.

South Africa's DHA (Department of Home Affairs) needs lots of things mate. However living in SA you know how it is, the difference between getting things done versus the cravings of the corrupt ruling party.

There should be a means to disable these ads- probably in Professional versions because remember, Windows 10 and 11 is used at the corporate level- and I can assure you the corporate I work for will have a shit fit if ads were shown to the employees. I haven't noticed this particularly in Windows 10 Pro, nor my Windows 11 Pro machine either. Home editions are probably affected.

The age of being looked after is over. As a software developer I am being treated gradually more and more like a factory worker. They have us doing timesheets now, on top of all that Agile/Jira crap.
This is why I am with much trepidation, doing my own thing and hopefully I will have my own company to fall back on when this ride meets its demise.
