The Screwtape Letters is the most thought provoking book I've read in ages. Taking the form of letters from a senior demon (Screwtape) to an apprentice demon (Wormwood), the book makes you realise the constant competition between good and evil at play in your own mind.
In this passage Screwtape explains that the demons have convinced their human subjects that there is no difference between owning a pair of boots (my boots) and claiming possession of a god (my God).
The book is full of amazing insights like this. Highly recommended.

I switched from Windows / Office to Linux Mint / Libre a couple of months ago. It's all good. You can use them side by side before you decide to go all in on Linux. Libre is fine for word processing and spreadsheets.

Imagine if all government spending was recorded on a public blockchain. Citizens could track exactly where their tax money goes, from large infrastructure projects to small administrative costs. This would make it incredibly difficult to divert funds or engage in fraudulent activity.

Love that you're quoting Blake. From a poem called Holy Thursday written in 1794 in Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. Everyone should read it.
It's not about immigration. It's about the conditions children were suffering in London an indutrialising economy, and the inability of institutions such as the Church and other charities to deal with the situation with integrity.
Holy Thursday is nearly upon us again. Probably time to find my copy of the Songs and re-read it.
