@nprofile…ynd9 Well, I never lived there to tell from experience, but at least on paper, apart from the weather which you can't control (we can here in Brazil, btw, just need to ask Cacique Cobra Coral), I don't believe there are many places in the world that would be better. Perspective is a tricky thing.

@nprofile…sftd I think it used to run on X-wayland by default but they changed that on this release. You can still tell it to run on x-wayland mode, you need to pass an option to the flatpak command when running it, I just can't remember which at the top of my head 😅.

@nprofile…sftd That's what happens when Gnome expects every app to provide its own window decorations on wayland but the app disagrees.

@nprofile…ynd9 Reading through the whole thing, I don't know the world enough to recommend you the sweet spot, you definetly have options to run away from the cold, but from the right and finantial crisis I don't think you can. The entire world seems to be going down the drain in that sense. If you can work remotely earning in Euros you'd at least be ok finantially in a lot of places, but that's a big if.

@nprofile…e2s8 Taxing imports just means things will get more expensive for your population at the same time you're not really punishing the carbon emiting ofender. The only effective solution is to not do business with them at all, if you can afford to do so. Or peharps, using incentives rather than punishement to foment a more environment friendly world would work better, but I can't think of a pratical way to do it.

@nprofile…cee8 The lower classes are the most affected by real problems while believing in fake motives and solutions. The left has largely abandoned its worker rights roots in favour of their own brand of culture wars, while the right learned how to prey on the lower classes fears and point their frustration in a direction that benefits them. Here in Brazil I think its hard to engage people on topics like the environment and social justice when the most basic needs aren't met.

@npub1tvq…l6jk While Dragon Age is often victim of the "your game is too woke" crowd, from what I've seen so far the criticism to the writing in veilguard is valid. One should be carefull not to dismiss honest and valid criticism to something objectively bad as just another "anti woke" argument. I'm definetly not getting this one at lauch, if ever.
