Agreed.
Another feature is the "lightness" of development.
If I were to create a convetional web app, and release it to the public, I am then responsible for the data hosted on the back end for all future users.
With #nostr, back end user data is taken care of, and I don't have that future burden, so I am much more likely to want to release a small project the public.
So nice.

Sommerfeld: do you have a sense of how this compares some procedure using eCash? Maybe entering one wallet through lightning, converting to ecash, sending the eCash over to a different wallet and exiting out through lightning?

It would be as an eventual goal. In my mind nostr becomes the new internet.
We do this through layer inversion. When I was a kid I used modems over the phone network. TCP/IP ran on top of the phone network. Now phone networks run on top of TCP/IP: Layer inversion.
All addresses on the internet should be public keys. It's hard to imagine designing the internet now and not doing this. It solves so many problems.
NOSTR can be our new internet.

And more importantly, the internet is permissioned because IP addresses have to be assigned. Nostr is permissionless because nsecs don't need to be assigned. We need to get away from IP addresses.
It's the original sin of TCP/IP.

Silent link I have used, but I find buying a local sim is much more functional.
I think cash is probably still more anonymous than lightning, however I have to say that with eCash, times they are a changing.
Also, I love that mullvad accepts cash. I send them my leftover fiat from foreign travels.

The technical answer as to how knowledge is created:
- Identify a problem
- Guess at possible solutions (what the truth is)

You can KNOW the truth, but you can never be sure that what you know IS the truth. There is no oracle we can consult or method that will guarantee the truth.
You can think you have the truth, but you can never be sure that tomorrow you won't guess a solution that is even better.
And since it is not possible to guess EVERY possible solution to a problem, we can never be sure we have the final truth, but we might have it.
The truth does exist. There is a reality outside our skulls, but we are stuck viewing a simulation of that reality created by our subconscious for our conscious selves. We can never know for sure the simulation is accurate.
