i have spent too many hours in a world which wants me dead or at any rate would find it a lot more convenient if i was, but still expects me to be a patient teacher and inspiration to everyone.
i'm always on the clock.
fucking always.

> linux is so good, i had to use windows for a bit and wow linux is so good, why aren't people using linux? it's so good, don't they know windows is bad?
yk i'm really tired of having this shit boosted onto my tl and if you're doing it you're getting muted. for the last time:
i want to use Linux. i cannot use Linux the way i can use Windows, because the accessibility is a mess. because i don't get the functionality from Linux that i get from Windows, i use Windows. whenever i bring this up, i'm told "that sucks, good thing it's open source, you should fix it".
i am so sick of having the same conversation over and over again and i'm running out of patience for this crap. please try to actually care about disabled people. if you can't help materially, you can help by remembering we're still in the room when you go to make the same godsdamn noise for the trillionth time.

could be a fairly long shot, but why not? Fedi please boost this for reach <3
anyone in (or in touch with someone who is) in Aotearoa New Zealand, and has any old braille notetaker devices they don't want or can't use?
we're particularly interested in anything from what we consider the golden age (1990s to early 2010s), especially the early Humanware Braille/VoiceNote series. but we'll happily take anything, even if it's broken. we live on very little income so we might not be able to pay you much for it, but will absolutely pay shipping and would love to talk barter of some kind. or we can work out a payment plan, up to you.
we're based in the Waitaha/Canterbury region and can pick up anywhere in the Ōtautahi/Christchurch Metro, or can collect from the BLVNZ office on Bristol Street.

since we started participating in online furry and alterspecies spaces with other havers of paw kinks, we've noticed that the word "paw" is by far the most commonly used when talking about the anatomy used for walking (and sometimes for manipulating objects).
that's cool, and i like the whole vibe of using language associated with non-human animals to describe the body parts of sapients. however, i do sometimes feel a little awkward in these spaces when using the word "foot". as though use of the word foot makes one proximate to humans. as though only humans have "feet", and everyone else has paws.
and no. that's wrong. maybe it's being a biped, maybe it's my interest in anatomy and zoölogy and familiarity with the terminology from years in the literature, but sometimes that's the word i want to use. i'm a crow. i have feet and toes, not paws and beans. i love plantigrade feet as much as digitigrade feet. i'm also gradually but definitively developing an appreciation for hooves, which are also not paws. i thirdly don't have the ssame (perceived) disgust for the human form as many others around me have. i don't enjoy occupying it much, but that's just the form on me, others rock that shit. i can distance myself from the disliked aspects of it without having to describe my bird body in a way that feels inaccurate to me.
i don't know if it's necessary, but i really want to stress that this isn't me having an issue with the words others use for themselves. this is more like...
if i content warning "feet" on something, will a bunch of creatures with the kink not open it because "yewww humans"?
if i talk about getting horny for the sound of footsteps, will i get corrected on that word?
it's far from the biggest deal, but it makes me a little hesitant to post lewd things sometimes because of being unsure. partly unsure if i'm even observing the pattern i think i am lol
