5/ I delay upgrading the operating systems because it seems like every time I do, something that was working now no longer does or was redesigned without much thought for the end user (ahem liquid glass)
Recently went on a cruise with a pixel running GrapheneOS and ran into an immediate problem of how to communicate with the rest of the family. That walled-garden has steep walls once you are out of the Apple ecosystem.

4/ and a couple obsolete MacMinis.
My last Apple purchase was 5 years ago.
I switched from Final Cut to DaVinci Resolve, iPhoto to CaptureOne, Xserve to FreeNas and my main development laptop is a Asus Zenbook running Fedora Linux.
I say all of this to illustrate how a person that was ALL IN on Apple technology is on track to completely eliminate any Apple hardware and software in the next few years due to Apple's decisions.
My needs didn't change, Apple's thirst for profits did

3/ I was immediately blown away with such features as playing a dvd and closing the lid only to have the dvd pick up exactly where it stopped when opening the lid again.
I eventually started going to as many WWDCs (when they were in San Francisco) as I could, bought damn near everything they made from Xserves, PowerMacs, MacPros (starting with the 5,1), FinalCut, Aperture, etc.
Over 20 years later, my M1 MAX MacbookPro is gathering dust, I have a couple of AppleTvs, a 2019 Intel MacPro

2/ I've been an Apple user since 2001 when I bought my first iBook.
Prior to the iBook I was running Linux and had to recompile my kernel to support some new wifi card I bought from CircuitCity.
After several hours of compilation, and rebooting, something else broke that was working just fine before that.
I immediately got up and my then girlfriend (now wife) asked:
"Where are you going?"
Me: "Fuck this, I'll be back"
I came back less than an hour later with a brand new iBook

I'm still rocking an iPhone 12 pro and will probably continue to do so until it dies or gets obsoleted.

1/ Watching “Once a time in Northern Ireland” documentary about “The troubles” from the late 60s to the late 90s is heartbreaking.
Across the pond, we aren’t taught much if anything about Ireland or it’s history. I’m just vaguely aware of the “Good Friday Agreement” but nothing really of how the troubles started or how it went on for 30 years.
The documentary has interviews from different participants ranging from Catholics, Protestants and former British army.

Anecdotally, every single person I have seen online talking about #charliekirk being killed for “a difference of opinion” has been white AND cis.

1/ When I read or see anything regarding A.I, all I see is “Tulip Mania”. Companies laying off hundreds of thousands of workers, spending billions on AI infrastructure, all for a solution looking for a problem.

I’m so fucking mad right now. A black woman was almost turned away because she thought she registered to vote through a third party. Turns out that third party took her information and didn’t send it off to be registered (I think it’s a scam anyway).
I called the election commission and walked her through voting provisionally. She was reluctant as there is a bit of paperwork and she has somewhere to be. I pulled her aside and looked her dead in her eyes and said “I really want you to vote”
