I have been thinking about this post. It sounded insane and salty at first, but if you think about it from the perspective of BIP-110 and "trying save the nodes and the network" from embedding of data bloat or hosting explicit illegal data than it might make sense trying to maintain the split (cleaner) chain as a longer term project, since with time there might be an increasing probability of Bitcoin actually getting captured and failing.
Just trying to understand the twitter post using some logic and empathy.

From the outside it just doesnt make a lot of sense to wanting to be able to store lots of non-monetary data on the hardest money blockchain. If your data shows that it doesnt happen a lot, lets just shut it off before it becomes an attack vector to the network.
I also can understand how it comes in waves, as it is more like a meme/altcoin type of activity where people pump and dump their jpeg projects for a few months and move on. Not sure if we want to bring ETH-shenanigans to BTC.
