Today @nprofile…sn57 finally overcame one of the major roadblocks for timeline rewrite: keeping position with "oldest first" reading order. There's still a lot of work to do but the new timeline is getting closer now 😊

On that note, we are very low on capacity with both dev and non-dev things. If you want to help us out please don't be afraid to reach out. We are able to compensate some work, but we need to talk about it first.

2025-11-07 12:34:34 GMT

Hi everyone!
We are glad you are excited for the quote posts! They will come eventually but right now we (and I mean mostly Conny) are in the process of rewriting the timeline to be able to accommodate for quotes, it might take some time. We are only a few people who do this in our free time. We can't give you a time estimate but of course we also want it out as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

You might have noticed that our repo is on the @nprofile…8x0h now which also took some work but so far we are happy with our move

✅ The second one is our payment policy. We pay for work done on some areas of the Tusky Project, and also reimburse all costs neccesary to keep Tusky up and running.
➡️ In this policy you can see what we prioritize and how we take the decisions.
❗The policy has been in effect for several months now, but we hadn't linked it here yet.

Tusky is looking for contributors!
The #Tusky team has lost a few contributors this year for various reasons, and we need your help building a kick-ass Mastodon app!
While we would also appreciate more technical contributors, we are specifically looking for:
- a person who can manage or help with our social account
- a project manager who can help us draft a Code of Conduct
Please help us spread the word 😊

2023-08-30 20:23:26 GMT

Our OpenCollective policy has always been that we will use our budget to enable contributors who would otherwise not be able to contribute. In one case, this meant that there was no publicly visible work, because the contributor did not manage to get it into a usable form, despite us helping them as much as possible. We recognize that we could be more transparent with our expense policy, and we will work on improving it.

The Tusky team is bigger than ever, but two more known faces are stepping back.
Hi everyone, maloki here. Conny announced his resignation to our matrix channel last night, and this has some people worried. We've been working on this hand over for months, as both him and I are stepping back.
We've now made an official update on our Open Collective , where you can also support the team going forward!

Thank you for all your thoughts and support.

If you have #dyslexia , do alternative fonts in apps help with the reading experience?
If yes, are Atkinson Hyperlegible or OpenDyslexic useful fonts to use with #Tusky? Are there others (that are freely redistributable).
The attached screenshots show what this would look like.
Please boost for reach.

#Tusky 23.0 has just been released.
This is primarily a bug fix release after 22.0, although you will also notice a new preference to adjust text size across the user interface.
More details at https://github.com/tuskyapp/Tusky/releases/tag/v23.0

2023-05-20 14:12:02 GMT

#Tusky 22.0 beta 5 (!) is rolling out.
Two fixes in this one:
A new version of the APNG library broke animated emojis. That's been rolled back to an earlier version.
Not all Mastodon-like servers support the marker API to record which notifications have been sent. So that information is stored locally as well, just in case.
