But at the same time I feel no sympathy for any devs at this point. Even if they were telling the truth, the name sweet baby should become a curse so deadly that even the suggestion that your game MIGHT be associated with them will cause your sales to tank.

The GOP could absolutely do better, and they're only holding themselves back at this point. But at the same time, I question the narrative that this was some "huge loss" for them. There were so many elections going on last night and the mainstream media is only focusing on Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. The latter of which only voted on ballot measures, rather than actual candidates. The GOP won in Mississippi, and Kentucky voted red on every race except for the governor's. Not to mention the numerous mayoral and schoolboard elections that are hard to get a gasp on if you don't live in the area. The left seems to still be very much in control of the narrative when it comes to who "wins" and "loses" elections. Again, the GOP can absolutely sweep the country if they try a little harder, but I don't think we should trust the mainstream media when they claim they "won", either.

@npub1lw3…f3ne @npub1gku…fcxq IMO the ideal style of living given our modern advancements in technology is more akin to rural life. Large houses with even larger plots of land around them. Surrounded by nature and somewhat self sustaining.
I think cars negate the need to walk or bike to run errands. I understand they need maintenance and fuel to run, but there's no reason these things shouldn't be easy to access. The only reason gas is expensive is because of the government, and the only reason cars are hard to repair is cause companies want to control what you own. Since we're talking about an ideal world here, neither of those things would be true. Gas would be as cheap as it should be and cars would be designed to last long and be repaired easily.
Besides, walking or biking through nature just for the sake of it is much more pleasant than hauling stuff back and forth.

Interesting. I lived in eastern Europe for a while before moving back to the US and we never had any reliable public transport there. I haven't been to western Europe since the mid 2000s so I don't know how things have deteriorated. What I do know is every time someone goes to western Europe for uni they always come back RAVING about "muh hecking trainarinos!".

I've been concerned about this for a while as well. It seems like even normal people these days would rather avoid interacting with children at all. 18 year olds will refuse to talk to people 2 grades under them in school because they're "minors". It's really sad and a sign of how broken most people are these days. It's like people don't think they can trust themselves NOT to rape children, so they just never interact with them.
It's as if as a society we forgot that children need adults. We're their guardians and role models. I remember when I was young, there were plenty of adult celebrities that made content targeted towards children. And they would host regular meetups and events where kids would get to meet them and take pictures etc. They wouldn't treat the kids they met as equals, but they would say things like "stay in school for me, ok?" or "always listen to your parents."
Those people understood their role in children's lives as a role model, and did their best to make sure they lived up to that responsibility. Nowadays you have YouTubers who's audience is primarily children and they're very aware of that. And yet they have strict rules about "not interacting with minors". As if anyone over the age of 17 gives a shit about them.

One of the best ways we can fight back against fags in the culture war, is by fostering a community of based content creators to share our works between ourselves. Rather than trying to hide our beliefs in order to go "mainstream", we should be unabashedly proud and open about what we think. After all, why do the opinions of a bunch of fags matter to us? If we create communities just for us, we can't be deplatformed by them.
Eventually, if our works are good enough, the mainstream will find and enjoy it. Thereby pushing fags out of relevance.

Unlike Xenoblade 2, 3 is thematically incomplete without it's DLC.
The base game mainly focuses on Moebius and the desire to remain in the now. Showing how it's both a bad thing when taken to extremes, but also a natural and important emotion that's vital to protecting the ones you love. However, this statement is incomplete without examining the pros and cons of the other side. That being Ouroboros and the desire for change.
The base game briefly touches on the idea that the main character's desire for change can be a bad thing if taken too far, with moments such as Crys telling Noah that he needs to learn "to be content with ones lot". But it doesn't go much deeper than a brief mention.
Future Redeemed provides us with the opposite perspective that the base game was missing. Showing us how Na'el's desire for change is taken to the extreme, with her opting to abandon the world as a whole and trying to start anew. It's ironic then, that she would be the one to found house Doyle. Which the base game tries to depict as Moebius-like in their desire to protect what they have, rather than fight for more.
The base game uses house Doyle to try and make players rethink their preconceived notions they had about Moebius and what they want. It's the first glimpse we get into the idea that the desire for "now" isn't a purely evil thing. This idea culminates in the eclipse scene and continues all the way until the end of the game. Sure, Monica and the party might not understand it at first. And as players it's hard to argue against the party's perspective seeing as they're the lens through which we experience the story. But that's why Future Redeemed is so important. It provides that alternate lens that completes the picture that the game is trying to paint for us.

The late twist was essential to Xenoblade 2's ending. Without it, the game would have ended on a sour, somewhat nihilistic note of it's own. And for a game that's all about the beauty of the world and humanity, it simply wouldn't have fit.

Of course the story is presented in a way that tries to logically justify it's nihilistic worldview.

Hot take, but The Last of Us was always shit.
The entire message of that game is basically that there is no such thing as a noble sacrifice. That you should just selfishly live your life, even as the world literally falls apart around you. That even if you're the only one who can stop the decay, you aren't obligated to do a damn thing about it. And if anyone tries to convince/force you to take action for the betterment of humanity, they're real the evil ones.
