We self-host BTCPay Server to accept Bitcoin payments so no third party sees who pays us. On 7 August a critical BTCPay vulnerability was exploited to steal Bitcoin from our Lightning node.
The funds were ours: no customer data accessed, no customer funds lost, no action needed. The server keeps no request logs, so no payment records were exposed.

We are launching Mailx, an open source, audited email aliasing and forwarding service built and operated by the IVPN Team.
Mailx is in closed beta, first available free to IVPN Pro customers with at least one year of remaining time on their account, with new invite rounds to follow.

As part of ongoing infrastructure optimization efforts, we will be migrating the Luxembourg gateway (lu1.gw.ivpn.net / lu1.wg.ivpn.net) to a new provider between 4 Dec and 7 Dec. During this period, we advise to make use of alternative gateways in other locations.

IVPN AntiTracker upcoming changes: one of the lists available in our AntiTracker, Developer Dan is no longer updated. We are removing it as an individual option from AntiTracker on 8th July - next Monday - and won't be part of combined lists going forward.
If you have the Developer Dan list selected for AntiTracker we suggest switching to a different one as soon as possible to avoid disruption in the service.

We can confirm a reported DNS leak issue on Android that impacts all VPN apps. There are no known solutions to prevent it, and requires a fix in a future Android version. Details in our blog post: https://www.ivpn.net/blog/dns-traffic-leak-outside-vpn-tunnel-on-android/
Depending on your threat model, consider avoiding the use of Android in situations where such leaks can impact your privacy.

New versions of IVPN for Android (v2.10.8), Desktop (v3.14.14), and iOS (v2.12.3) are out, with updates of the quantum-resistant libraries used, along with other improvements.
Note: we have removed support for Android 7.0 and earlier versions. We are discontinuing support for older Android versions due to the phase-out of certificate cross-signing that allowed Android Devices prior to 7.1.1 to establish TLS connections.

Five IVPN end points in Montreal (qc1, qc3, qc4, qc5, qc6) and one in Milan (it1.wg) will be withdrawn from service on 13th June. New connections will not be accepted from the first days of June. Remaining servers in these locations are ready to use with ample capacity.
If you rely on these servers for persistent connections, we advise manually switching over to ca1.wg, ca-qc2 or it2, respectively. You can find connection details for each of our servers on our website. https://www.ivpn.net/status/
