I guess if you want me to respond re: historical illiteracy. I think you're confusing the modern university system with science.
Christian civilizations did advance science, obviously. They were huge wealthy empires with high quality genetic stock, but invent it? Astronomy, medicine, irrigation? Formulas used in engineering architecture? Algebra and geometry? Do I need to name more?
Christianity didn't exist until the sciences were already becoming pretty advanced.

That's likely a limitation of the tools. If we had perfect perception and knowledge of how the brain worked, you could probably find the underpinning in the brain or nervous system, or in a consistent pattern within them.
Our senses are just good enough to get by, it's a wonder we've managed as much as we have. We shouldn't make broad conclusions based on things we can't see or infer from sound principles

It's not a bad question. Empiricism will get you by day to day, but it's inadequate for determining any kind of purpose.
I have an answer for what I think people should be doing, though I don't think it's objectively teleological in the Christian sense, but I'm not quite ready to sell it yet. When I do, it'll probably be based on incentive, not philosophy.

But then you go back in the thread and he's also making assertions about formal metaphysical categories without proper justification, bc the knife cuts both ways. You also can't justify metaphysics. You can't really justify anything because we're not hooked into a God brain that would grant us Cartesian certainty.
