The reason that night vision systems work is that the wavelengths in the infrared spectrum are still small enough to provide adequate detail to gain useful information in a scene.
It is technically possible to generate a color representation of electromagnetic energy in the longer wavelengths, but it would likely have little practical value other than entertainment, since the data points would be too widespread to discern detail. Technology could be created to perform a calculated fill-in to the scene as the electromagnetic energy reflects off of a moving target.
I'm not sure about how to handle the smaller wavelengths on the other side of the visible spectrum.

I like the concept of tagging posts with words. You are in effect creating a richer experience for the user plus creating the opportunity for more efficient categorization and searching.
You are killing more than one bird with one stone by using word tags instead of emojis:
* Reactions
* Wider range of reactions
* Popular reactions identified via user click count
* Improve categorization and search opportunities
I think the author should be allowed to self-tag posts, which could pre-populate one or more of the word tags, by the app moving hashtags in the post to text reactions. The reaction counter would not show a count for author generated tags until the first viewer clicks the tag.
Allowing and preserving CamelCase tagging adds context and uses less real estate to get the point across, e.g. CamelCase vs camelcase
I can envision the NOSTR based search engines being more efficient if they can just search tags instead of the entire text of a post.
Word tagging could also makes memes searchable

I first found Alex on Gab when he was working for Gab to help them polish up their hack job on their fork of Mastodon social media. I spotted his posts just as he was leaving Gab, complaining about their management and code management approach.
His posts resonated with me, specifically his stand on freedom of speech. He was gearing up to help the Pleroma dev team compete with Mastodon for the decentralized social media prize, due to the Mastodon team being insular.
I helped Alex map the Pleroma DB structure to the Mastodon DB structure so that he could interconnect his Twitter-like front end code to the Pleroma back end and create more competition in the distributed social media space.
He is a great guy and I'm happy to see that he continues to make an impact in the world via freedom tech. It is clear that he is sticking to his principles of helping to keep freedom of speech alive.
