Even if the rock is Peter’s confession, the confession is still Peter’s, and Jesus gave Peter the keys. Augustine says the rock is Christ, and he also defends the view that Peter represents the Church.

The gender difference is Greek grammar. In Aramaic, Peter and rock are the same word, Kepha.
The apostles and early fathers don’t read it your way. Peter is listed first among the apostles. He speaks for them and receives the keys personally. The fathers identify the rock as Peter. The confession only reading is not the ancient faith.

He didn’t say "on this confession." He renamed Simon, then gave him the keys. Peter is the rock who confessed the truth. It not an either or.

The church isn't against scripture. If you believe a particular verse teaches something the Church has condemned, then the real question is whether that verse actually teaches it.

And if your church can’t trace its ministry to the apostles and isn’t in communion with the Church that can, then it isn’t the church that Christ founded.

Christ is the one mediator and he established a visible Church, a ministerial priesthood, and the sacraments as ordinary means of grace and teaching. God the father, the son, and the holy spirit aren't bound to those means.

I can see the Tor service is still running in the background after I close out the app. I think you have to have notifications on to see it. I don't notice any significant battery drain after Tor is disabled. @nprofile…jejf

I figured. You should terminate the app from "Active apps" when you don't want it running in the background. It's annoying.

I don't think either of us is blaming technology. I think we're just acknowledging reality and dealing with the circumstances. The people who are in control of certain popular distributions have decided to comply. You're free to fight the government but we still need a distro.
