It’s definitely a personal taste thing. You can change the consistency by adding more or less liquid. The Cleanse powder is the more important ingredient (the other shake can be trading for something you like more as long as it’s low carb).

Technically yes, but I don’t use it clinically for that purpose as I don’t see the results. For example, post-COVID blood stasis (from spike) doesn’t improve with vinegar (at least not effectively by itself).

The Scorpion and The Turtle
An Ancient Animal Fable with a Timeless Message
A lonely insecure tortoise is chillin in a stream when a scorpion walks up and says hello.
They begin to talk about life and all its wonders during which time the lonely insecure tortoise is momentarily relieved of his emotional discomfort. As they continue to talk, the lonely insecure tortoise fantasizes that the new friendship is the solution to his unresolved personal self esteem issues.
The degree to which the lonely insecure tortoise outsources his sense of well-being is proportionate to his inability to accurately see the scorpion for who he is versus who he needs him to be.
The scorpion proposes that the lonely insecure tortoise allow the scorpion to climb on his back and take the scorpion to the other side of the stream. The lonely insecure tortoise subconsciously denies any concern that the scorpion will sting him as his desperation for friendship is greater than logic and reality is suspended.
Expecting others to be different than they actually are, based on personal unresolved emotions, is an inappropriate and misplaced expectation. It puts the target of the projection in a position of responsibility and power over the person’s well being. This is a core dynamic in codependency and never ends well.
The lonely insecure tortoise has a fleeting thought of concern but decides to use reason to justify his loss of common sense. He reasons that the scorpion would not sting him because the scorpion must also be experiencing the same level of fantasy projected friendship and that there must be a deep unspoken commitment in place.
Plus, the scorpion said there would be no stinging.
The lonely insecure tortoise’s neediness is the setup for trust being broken, not the behavior of the scorpion (you can trust others to be exactly who they are, not who you need them to be).
After spending time grooming the scorpion with complex, but subtle, social cues intended to secure a level of commitment to one another, the lonely insecure tortoise welcomes the scorpion onto his back and together they set off for the other side of the stream.
Although the lonely insecure tortoise sees this as an act of love, in actuality it is a self-centered attempt to meet a personal need that has been falsely projected onto the scorpion to solve.
Just before reaching the other side, the scorpion stings the lonely insecure tortoise who is entirely shocked. Before he dies, he begs the scorpion as to why he was stung.
Expecting others to change or attempting to change them is not loving. It is manipulative. If, and when, others change it will not be because of you, less the change be infected with resentment.
The scorpion simply replies that he is a scorpion and that stinging is what scorpions do.
Upon taking responsibility for one’s own sense of well-being, the need to change others is removed, acceptance is possible, and trust issues are resolved as expectation becomes matched with reality.

Addison’s Disease
A pathology of the adrenal glands in which they under-produce steroid hormones. This is not the same as “adrenal fatigue” which is layman’s term for exhaustion by over exertion. John F. Kennedy was known for having Addison’s Disease.
The cause of Addison’s Disease is often immunologic and sometimes iatrogenic (caused by medical treatment).

Acupuncture Treatment Goals
Acupuncture is a medical model used both as a diagnostic assessment and as a treatment.
Diagnostic
Acupuncture offers a map of channels covering the body illustrating connections based on the nervous system and blood vessels. The location of an ailment will show the channel involved, which becomes part of the diagnosis.
Treatment
Once a channel has been identified for treatment, additional channels are considered based on organ systems involved, mixed pattern presentations, or for general effects such as calming down the autonomic nervous system (de-stressing heals the body).
Acupuncture Points
Point locations on each channel have different effects on the channel. For example, some points can “drain” the channel for excess conditions such as a headache due to high blood pressure. Other points may “stabilize” the channel for support as with a degenerative condition. When the points being used are located away from the ailment, they are called “distal points.” Points can also be used directly over the area being treated, called “local points.”
Biological Effects
Acupuncture stimulates the nervous system, blood flow patterns, and immune responses. Nervous system reactions are sometimes instantaneous. When a condition, such as a pain syndrome, is improved immediately it is a neurological effect. If the pain doesn’t come back, then diagnostically it can be assumed that the condition itself was neurological. Generally, the more complicated the presentation, the more channels are being treated, the longer the treatment. Most of our patients need to de-stress their autonomic nervous system, which can take additional time.
Neurological effects: 1-15 minutes
Complex presentations, multiple channels: 25-45 minutes
Calming the autonomic nervous system: 35-55 minutes
The ability to manipulate these reactions within the body makes acupuncture a profound and elegant medical model. However, since there are hundreds of points to choose from it is not only a medical science but also an art.
Ideally, new patients come in for acupuncture treatments at least twice a week. This gives the team a chance to get to know what approach will work best for each individual patient. It is not uncommon for patients with severe “flare-ups” (especially autoimmune disordered) to come in daily until stable. Maintenance is typically once a week treatments.
Additional Concepts
“Dry Needling” is a term that practitioners use when they want to practice acupuncture without getting the acupuncture license. However, when a filiform needle (not hollow) is being used as a treatment (vs a hollow needle used for injection related treatment) it is called “acupuncture” and “acupuncture” needles are used. Under the acupuncture umbrella, there are many styles, theories, concepts, and treatment strategies.
Cupping may also be used on acupuncture points and channels. The effect of cupping is primarily blood movement, which explains why it is so popular with sports injuries. Similar to sports massage, cupping increases blood flow to a specific area which increases the rate of healing. Areas with stagnant blood flow can also cause pain.
Electric Stimulation, also called e-stim, allows for increased point function.
Gua Sha, or scraping, is a technique used on channels that is abrasive to the skin used to increase blood flow and release the exterior (vent the skin).
Meridians is term used to describe channels but instead of using anatomy and physiology, it is a concept based on energy. This term is not used in academic settings and is considered to be a mistranslation as acupuncture is not an energy medicine and is not based on a mysticism.

High Cholesterol on Low Carb Diets Not Bad
Long story short: they studied 2 cohorts that were matched in their lipid panels except for LDL being high in one cohort who also happened to be on a low carb diet for 5 years. Prior to that their LDL was around the same as their counterparts, suggesting that once they adopted low carb their LDL skyrocketed. The other markers were good, HDL triglycerides HbA1c etc. The high LDL cohort had people as high as 300-500 LDL. They found absolutely no plaque in the high LDL cohort and this is after 5 years of elevated LDL.

Hubzilla and Friendica both cover a lot of features…but then you mentioned “usable.” Their UIs are so bad I want to eat my hand.
I still love the concept of G+ with circles, collections, groups, email options, and even web search authority. Too bad it was not open source.
I’m really curious how if nostr and fedi will continue to merge (thanks Alex) or if one will prevail making the other obsolete. He’s vegan, btw.

Bring on the sauerkraut! For sure. It’s like a garden. It needs more seeds planted (probiotics), good fertilizer (prebiotics), and can get weeds (transient flora). However, there is still much to know. People eating meat only (carnivore diet) have some undeniable benefits but one of my main concerns is that, over time, they will starve out their good flora which may make returning to consumption of non-meat foods challenging. For the most part, my gut patients improve when they eat fermented foods - myself included.
