Yeah I have really mixed feelings about it, because I understand that it is neater and maybe more functional, but they're a bit of an inconvenience. In theory it would be better in a smartphone dominated world where portrait is the new default but most of my sites are more landscape optimized.
However after trying it I don't think it's as bad as it looks because *I* just hide the tabs anyways so their position doesn't actually matter to me but if you prefer to have them always on screen I can see why you would hate it.

Not sure if it's actually any good from a privacy/security standpoint or a performance one but I do really like the Zen Browser's UI. It looks really streamlined and it seems to have a lot better keeb support than stock Firefox (even if it's not perfect).

I'd be more willing to watch more normie shit (since that's usually 4K now) if it was more easily accessible but the state of streaming is so bad that I can't bring myself to watch any of it on principal even though I'm not actually paying for it (I'm on a bunch of family plans) I hate being treated like a criminal even though I'm technically a legitimate customer. I would pirate stuff but I don't care enough to go through the effort when anime is so much easier to find in comparison.

I like my 1440p monitor! But I have a really weird use case and a lot of the games I play specifically are pretty old or well optimized and still look pretty good on it.
I kind of have to agree though from a general price vs what you get ratio I don't think hardware is really there yet and while the displays are getting cheaper the PC components to power them are not, especially since tech bros keep pushing these stupid snakeoil fads and we now have to take out a loan to afford a single stick of ram :angy:. Getting a better 1080p monitor with more bells and whistles is probably the smarter choice right now. I just wish OLED monitors were cheaper :lainsad: I think I would downgrade from my current monitor to a 1080p one if it was a good colour accurate OLED.

I know I keep whining about Steam Deck stuff but I genuinely think the D-Pad is the only thing that truly ruins the experience for me and stops it from being a 10/10 device. I could look past all the other flaws if it had a better D-pad and the ergonomics were a bit better when using it. It's great when using the sticks but to *me* that defeats the purpose of such a device as a lot of 3d games I'd prefer to be playing on desktop.

I guess the SNES is more prone to yellowing than other consoles? I haven't really had an issue with anything else really but every SNES I've seen in the wild looks like it's been dropped in a pot of coffee and **it's** been smoking a pack a day.

I don't really get why Microshit even bothered making Xbox anything else than a PC in a console box in the first place. They could have had a monopoly on the PC market already with them already owning the only OS people took seriously for gaming. If they just kept up with the PC ports and had a decent marketplace built into Windows Steam wouldn't even exist now or at the very least they wouldn't be big enough for people to take their experimental projects like the Deck seriously.
Granted now I think they pretty much have to go cross platform and kinda pull a SEGA but it's just really weird to see them put themselves in this position when they really could have easily prevented it :neocat_woozy:
