Netflix just told me my iPhone wasn’t part of my household account whilst sitting IN MY HOUSE and USING MY HOME WIFI.
They are very close to losing my custom.
They suggest I log in to Netflix via my phone at least once per month to avoid this.
A great user experience - NOT

If you have ‘bonds’ in a company, then you are lending the company money

2024-08-31 14:22:21 GMT

There is a clear difference between owning shares and bonds
When you have ‘shares’ in a company, you own a part of the company https://image.nostr.build/fe380ece23bb0f2d7911f49af2dc890a36f55750108074af1565f6374a9ca898.jpg

2024-08-30 06:25:33 GMT

When companies issue bonds, they are often referred to as Corporate Bonds
In the UK, when the government issues bonds they are sometimes called ‘Gilt-Edged Securities’ or Gilts for short https://image.nostr.build/4d6ef91480a7b132e02ce49c14640e7a0da4819e9a07aaf44286a2e434bda636.jpg

2024-08-29 11:07:33 GMT

When a company or a government require extra money they may issue a ‘bond’ in order to borrow the money they need
A bond is therefore a form of IOU that can be traded by investors and usually has a fixed regular income https://image.nostr.build/d119b5c179ccd9ba1a3081f34dd6cd5f61c53fb07bd35a1dba4a6042692f0822.jpg

The terms ‘stocks’ and ‘shares’ tend to be used somewhat interchangeably
However, there is a subtle difference
The term ‘stocks’ should be used when discussing ownership of companies in general
And the term ‘shares’ is used to describe ownership of a specific company https://image.nostr.build/4bb6dcf381ecd1ce972ff4ccbbc058818362219c3f65627b65592a66091a9775.jpg

Three steps to financial success:
1️⃣ Pay off your #debt
2️⃣ Build an emergency #fund
3️⃣ #Invest for the future
👉🏼 Finance CAN be simple

2024-08-23 07:10:57 GMT

When younger I held #Index funds due to their low cost
Once I started to think about #retirement, I switched to income funds
These give me some growth AND a regular #income
It’s possible to get 4 - 5% income via this approach without selling any of your holdings https://image.nostr.build/891e6f50d4b347089add931cb305545f6a2d9737eac39fcc39fed20ecc0aec58.jpg

2024-08-22 07:13:11 GMT

What does ‘retirement’ mean to you?
Will you give up work completely and focus on your hobbies or will you need some sort of work to give your life meaning?
Knowing the answer to this will help you plan for ‘retirement day’ https://image.nostr.build/77a65fdcc16c9c7717fbf82d4dfaef9ef046a839fc50bfdfa3b25fd8591b9ff0.jpg

2024-08-21 05:57:25 GMT

You should have easy access cash available for an emergency
This doesn’t have to be in a low interest account
You can ‘ladder’ your savings in fixed term accounts that release a set amount each month https://image.nostr.build/5efc7875d39bec712cc8a6249ae490f52a80332b2362c792ef2b4eb812e3ef24.jpg

2024-08-20 06:59:43 GMT

Be clear on your #financial objectives
Why do you #invest?
Are you growing ‘net worth’ or are you building a ‘monthly income’
This will guide which #assets you are going to buy https://image.nostr.build/1641d852cf6998af3834afb01752604903735f092f6dc75d4739471b484ca92e.jpg

2024-08-19 06:26:11 GMT

A key step to #Financial #Freedom is to know where your #money is spent
Call it a #budget, a financial plan or whatever
It could just be a list
But you need to know https://image.nostr.build/044dd18ef358f2c056071a1666cc68b18df07ee51c8ea716d265a96811ce9670.jpg

To become “Financially Independent” your first step should be to reduce #debt
Have you checked how much interest you pay on any debt you have? https://image.nostr.build/76f5a5dfda662d962b18acdf17ac443e319074dbc22868b4c600740f1b7bc5df.jpg

Lots of people struggle when it comes to #money
Some people take the time to increase their #financial intelligence
👉🏻 Take the time to learn about money and money will look after you https://image.nostr.build/62430d261b124862365a28fab33b12aebb18a057c07e120ee4bbb2813e0c2199.jpg

To #retire early you need to be “#financially independent”
You need to be able to live without the need to ‘earn money’ through traditional work
#Passive income is one answer, which can be earned from #investments https://image.nostr.build/3c139966725a7aa36d79dbcc81f18790c5db48d5843f7af30acfb2963202be94.jpg

Shares vs Bonds?
Buy #shares and you are buying partial ownership of a company
Buy #bonds and you are making a loan to a company
Shares are more volatile but have greater potential for growth
Bonds are less volatile but lower growth
A diversified portfolio would include both https://image.nostr.build/04370a103913d8c1eed54ddd039122725575f37ecd6157c9198c521570a76ad5.jpg

Active vs Passive funds?
Active funds are managed by a fund manager with the aim to ‘beat the market’
Passive funds, aim to replicate the market, or ‘track’ an Index
Passive funds have lower fees and sometimes perform as well as active funds https://image.nostr.build/d580c45ceed06482d6018606767f9f0f66056a0dbb7adf843da00a3ae025e550.jpg

Income (INC) vs Accumulation (ACC) funds?
If you want to withdraw dividends/interest to provide an #INCOME then income funds will allow you to do this
If you want to reinvest any dividends/interest then accumulation funds do this for you - this will give you ‘compound interest’ https://image.nostr.build/b36b2c87d8758460e5e28c1ebd6be65dcb0888d1c36fbe205c2220f1e6d4b743.jpg
