2 yrs ago someone threw a lighter. It hit a player's head and caused quite some blood.
That was what led to the "don't throw beer" rule.
The guy who threw the lighter only got 30 hrs of community service.

2 yrs ago they finally introduced sanctions against throwing beers on the pitch.
Fireworks and these red things (Roman candles?) only lead to a short pause when the smoke is too thick to play. The fireworks craters in the grass... most of the time no problem ...play on.🤣

Got in early so I had time to look at some footage. Told a coworker about what we are talking about and he said to show you the "cage" in the Dordrecht stadium, which is a first division club. So here it is... literally a prison with the spikes on top of the fence.

This is soccer ⚽ half time is 15 minutes...no show. Beer and pee break. And yes they are willingly undergoing all this. For the love for their club.
I am about to go to work right now. Editing highlights for a match. Don't know which one yet but if I see a shot of the away "cage" or if I have time to look at another match for it, I'll take a photo and post it.

exactly. In most stadiums the "guests" are also caged in on the stands (or bleachers? What's the correct word) They have a designated spot, usually in the corner where you can't see anything. The club in my city has a wall to seperate them from the rest that's not see through so they can't even see the closest goal.

It's either that or stay home. Some clubs aren't even allowed to visit the other club. Some of those are temporary bans. The Amsterdam Rotterdam one is permanent.
They both have the habit to take the rivalry outside the stadium.
Let to one murder years ago and several occasions where they tried to destroy/burn down each others city.
With the busses they can get them in and out without incident.

Not because you asked but maybe you want to know. Here in the Netherlands season tickets holders travel to all games. There's one thing that keeps a lot of people from attending away games and that's the mandatory bus ride. You are not allowed to go to the away game by yourself. You have to get to the stadium of your club and hop on the available bus there that brings you (and your fellow fans) to the away game.

My mum saw these mandalas being hung, above a street down in the village, last spring. She thought it would look pretty under her carport.
So we bought 40 rings last summer, crocheted mandalas for weeks, tie wrapped them together and adorned her carport today.
We have no idea how long the colors last since the Spanish sun is brutal. But it's really pretty for now 😀

we had those for decades. Supermarkets and random companies then produced their own (plastic) coins as a form of advertisement.
People started collecting those.
There were key rings with odd looking things that fit into that slot.
And then came covid. Supermarket personel had to clean each cart after each use. And money was spreading covid...remember that lie?🤣
So they took the locks off of the carts and that was the end of the locked carts here.

About Amsterdam last week...
As for you never heard of Israeli fans coming to Ajax or any other Euro match in droves.
Since 1992/1993 UEFA allowed Israel to compete under the European umbrella.
So you wouldn't have seen any during Euro or Champions League matches before that.
Unlike the national team fans during Euro and world Championships these club fans are often the hooligan types and they riot abroad. For example Feyenoord demolished the barcaccia fountain in Rome a few yrs ago.

I buy myself one every 4 months. They're kind of crap for the last decade or so. The chocolate always was but I remember they contained real cool stuff.

There's an IT outage in the south of the country.
Eindhoven airport is closed and the digital network in that area is mostly down.
They say an error at the ministry of Defence caused this. They've sent a red cross emergency team to the area. So you'd think it's serious.

A plumber and his family have been under attack for 18 months.

I looked into it a bit more. I didn't know what the situation around the tarmac was when I saw the photos.
I believe you are right about the distance. With the right lens you can play with the depth. In the reflection on the motor/back of the plane you can see the hangar where everybody is.
I also have trouble with finding the source of most of the photos deemed fake. They only appear on Twitter. None are on Getty/AP/Reuters websites.

Back in the day it was mandatory at school to do yarn crafts and wood crafts.
It differs per culture how yarn crafts are perceived. There was a time it was a necessary skill to have to make clothes. There are still countries where it's considered a poverty thing.
But in most cultures it's considered a hobby or an art form. And that's where the knit vagina's, pussycat hats etc pop up.
I still have this cardigan on my to do list 🤣

Not sure if you can say they're non political. There has been this whole uproar on Ravelry.
But most of them are generous with their time and talent. I am a part of a group that crochets for charities. There are hundreds of groups like that throughout the country.
Most crocheters I know work on a charity piece next to a project for themselves.
Often the fun is in the making not so much in the end product.

As an avid crocheter I don't think it's creepy. The end result maybe but not the act. She's is not the first teacher to do this. I've seen it before a couple of yrs ago.
Plus it's a thing for these type (amigurumi) of crocheters to give away most of their creations.
Also when my Spanish friend got married her MIL did something similar. She made pins of every wedding attendee's face. I believe that's something traditional there (have to ask)

🤬🥊 I had hoped for Angela Carini, the Italian girl, to win against Khelif the cheater.
