#[0] Just returned to nostr after a while away, what is the situation with these AI bots? How do you intend to stop people making them en masse and for nostr to be subsumed by them?

Have you taken the course? If so, what did you think?
It's a meme called 'Pondering My Orb' haha. Originally the image is from the front cover of an RPG called Middle-earth Quest from 1993.

#100DaysOfCode
(Day 1/100)
I began with still super simple Java, statements, operators etc, continuing with Part 1 of the Helsinki course.
Whilst coding today, in the background I've had programmes like Cheers, Frasier and The King of Queens on. I believe light-hearted sitcoms with morals and family values have the power to save the world. They may be what we need, everything's a bit intense and serious these days isn't it?
(Day 2/100)
Today I've simply been working on a few coding challenges to finish off part one of the course and the mathematical component.
I have been somewhat distracted by the news of Musk's new choice of CEO for Twitter. I am incredibly disappointed and surprised. I am aware that the intention is to set up a site which facilitates free speech, so I imagine the reasoning for his choice was that hiring someone with radically liberal viewpoints would balance out his purported (as of late) conservative viewpoints and therefore appeal to the maximum amount of people by giving them the sense that their views are also held by people in management. The person he has hired has been involved in some incredibly questionable activities in the past which gives me concern about what the future of Twitter may hold in regards to censorship and freedom. I'm sure Twitter 2.0 will have a future with this safe, corporate option, but it's saddening that it likely will not be a beacon of internet freedom like I believed it would be.
I believe that a better solution to ensuring a platform remains fair and free may have been to hire someone who is politically neutral or a freedom loving individual. To me, there is a question of integrity. It seems to me as though moves like this may have been done to maximise profits by appealing to corporations and the masses over furthering ideals and values whilst also profiting, allowing the empowerment of people through those values to guide and maximise profits. Personally, I have always been a very values driven person, it's what gives me a reason to get out of bed, nihilism does not appeal to me, if nothing has any meaning, why go on? Which is a reason why, for many years now, Musk has been a hero of mine. I am deeply in love with the ideas of innovation, freedom, both on the internet and offline, including speech, anti-censorship, net neutrality and for individuals to retain power to manifest their own destiny via decentralisation. One of the reasons I'm feeling down this evening is because it has made me question whether the person who I have looked up to for many years might not be who I thought they were. I hope I am proven wrong.

Thank you for the offer of work, but really what I'm looking for is a way to get into something blockchain based but related to real estate/architecture

2023-03-13 15:47:36 GMT

Does anyone know of anyway I can get involved with real estate/architecture in the blockchain community? My undergraduate degree was in architecture, I'm learning to code now and intend for my career to be primarily coding based; but it might be interesting to put my degree to use in some way.

What's your experience with DDG been like? For me, I love what they're doing but the search results have been sub-par so far in my opinion. I'm currently using Startpage (Google results proxied).

The sense of community and the density of interesting discussion on #nostr are both incredibly refreshing. I'm really excited to see how it evolves. I truly believe this has the power to emancipate the masses, allowing free and open discourse once and for all.
What are everyone's thoughts?
Keep going #[0] 💪🏻

I predicted Elon Musk's creation of a new AI company a few months back. It will surely be using Twitter metadata and I believe this was one of the driving factors for the acquisition. Genius. Good luck OpenAI!

#Reddit has become so woke. Pre ~2014 it was full of smart people talking about interesting things. Most of these NPCs may as well be bots. #nostr is where it's at now.

Nostr feels like the old internet that I remember growing up, people talking about interesting and meaningful things that make me genuinely excited. The signal:noise ratio on here is great. If feels like we're on a boat sailing into the unknown.

Hey Jack, in my battle with long covid I'm beginning to get into meditation. I'm aiming to invoke focus and peace back into my life so I can focus on programming. I know it's a big part of your life and I'm wondering if you have any recommendations for a noob? Thanks :)
