Indeed. I'm not the "cold, calculating pro-factory" person here...
Improbable has got this back to front.
Utilitarianism 𝘪𝘴 the "non-stop factory approach".
The question of "what is happinness and/or wellbeing" is an unanswered question. Only Utilitarians have claimed to "answer" it "objectively".
However, you can't try to objectively maximize a subjective thing (happiness/wellbeing). This is precisely what Utilitarianism tries to do, and therefore it's no surprise that Utilitarianism at best leads to stagnation of the human condition and at worst leads to totalitarianism.

This is what I mean, our way of thinking about thoughts is, at present, based on an almost cold utility.
This way of thinking about thoughts is bad. It is not good. It only feels good.
The "reciprocal" nature of it is based on both the "for" and "against" sides being based in Utilitarianism, hence the "loop hell".
Once you break from using Utilitarianism to evaluate your thoughts, things become clearer.

If you preface or buttress your argument by citing "the law(s)", then you reveal that your argument is bunk because it can't stand on its own.
What's doubly ironic about the whole thing is that practically everyone can agree that "the law(s)" today are utter shit, and either don't make any sense whatsoever, aren't enforced at all, aren't enforced well enough, or are selectively enforced leading to two-tier legal systems.
Why rely on such a decrepit construction? If you rely on "the law(s)" you will invariably be disappointed the majority of the time.
And this is, of course, setting aside the 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵 that "the law(s)" can 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦.

It's all "I'm against more punitive justice" until Pedos/MAPs come into the picture.
Pedos/MAPs are the exception to practically every "rule" or "norm" that governs "polite society".

You'll never be truly "free" if you let System gaslighting convince you that every "law" in place is good.
This same logic would have led to people defending slavery, being against civil rights, being against women having the right to vote, being against gay rights etc...
All those changes were brought about by brave people changing society by 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 engaging in (what was at that time considered) "crime".
