That? Oh I can tell you exactly. 2 images without alttext.

Lol, we're literally talking more about screen time and parental-guidance garbage that kids are going to be able to avoid anyway, and half of the parents probably don't even understand, rather than talking about what's actually new?
How about you take that time to talk about the accessibility improvements you made? Or, uh... are there none?
Well, I guess the only way to find out is by beta testing, as always.

Hey, it would be nice if you could add alt text to your images so blind users like me can understand them as well.

I ask myself whether you've ever seen how Discord actually works. I'm a happy Mastodon user for 2 years now, but it is 0% able to replace Discord. Really glad if that's the case for you though.
Mastodon is a feed-based microblogging platform. Discord has text channels, voice channels, with different permissions, restrictions of certain things such as uploading attachments, stickers, whatever. You have forum channels, etc. Voice chat is one of Discord's biggest features. Cool for you if you don't need it, but I actually do. So maybe Mastodon is not quite there yet, while I definitely appreciate it for what it is.

No, not a forum either. I don't want to have 50 accounts for 50 different places I'm active in.

The Fediverse and Discord are like the exact contrary.
Is there even any decentralized application like Discord where projects could somehow initiate their communities on, that has the same kind of role/fine-grained access/management control etc?
Channels, voice channels, private messages/calls, do you know what discord is?

Look, I'm all for privacy and hate Discords new verification model as well, but honestly it is ridiculous to think that anybody will stop using it. There is no alternative that comes anywhere close. I have around 50 Discord servers I'm in... I won't just cut them off, the platform is too big, and I won't just leave into nothing.
People think or tell you to leave or quit or boycott without providing any alternative that can be taken seriously, for example Amazon, WhatsApp, etc.
And I say it again, I'm all for privacy. But it's time to actually do something, and not just scream leave, because I won't leave into a void of no alternatives.

Holy moly dude, installing e-speak on there took me about half an hour, longer than even flashing the thing. Had to guide my non techy mother through the stuff, firstly tried to get it through the F-Droid site, but according to my mom the browser wouldn't let her select a download location so I pulled out an USB C stick and put the APK on there. And after surely 10 minutes of idling and apparently loading voice data, E-Speak finally came to life and started speaking. Now it's time to customise this. Not sure whether a simpler option would've been the installation through ADB, but I think you have to enable all that first so the stick route was probably the easiest.

Flashing the OS itself is possible without sight, setup isn't so I'm waiting for someone to help me. Since the bootloader GUI is that simple though, using a tool like Seeing AI or Envision to read out the menu options which you change with volume up and down, and confirm with the power button, works quite good.

Wow, so flashing Graphene OS on the Pixel 6 Pro was actually quite easy, just plugged the device in and followed the guide at https://grapheneos.org/install/web. By now I'll just update this thread with any new discoverysI make, and yes I do plan to write a detailed blog post about that as soon as I can and know more, I really can't wait to explore this honestly.

Question to the fellow blind/VI people. How do you train/do fitness? What I mean by that is, going to the gym, or have you found good/fun activities for home which do actually improve strength/muscles and aren't just keeping up the general condition. Regarding the gym thing, I live in Germany, so no idea if there are differences to stuff in other countries. But for now I don't have friends or other great ways to get around, so no idea if that would actually be an option anyway. Still interested.
I figured I'd ask here first, but might actually also post this on r/blind later.
