Dutch police seize server with data from ‘terrorist organization’ after US request: ‘The long arm of Trump’
“The fear of the European internet sector is coming true: your servers are not safe for the US,” says Kathmann. ()‘Is the Netherlands legally obliged to U.S. legal assistance requests to seize servers?’ () ‘What mechanisms are there not to comply with the requests if they go against national and European legislation?’

OM had ‘no ground’ to refuse U.S. request seizure servers A/I
By @nprofile…avma
"The Public Prosecution Service in Amsterdam has responded with a brief statement to questions about the legal assistance request on the basis of which a server was seized earlier this week. According to the Public Prosecution Service, this was done on the basis of the Netherlands-US Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters."

From the manifesto of Autistici/Inventati:
"Our aim is to reclaim spaces on the Internet where we can discuss and work on two levels: on the one hand, the right to and need for free communication and access to digital resources; on the other, social projects linked to reality and struggles."
"Setting up an independent server seems to us to be a good point to start and reach our goals."

Interesting talk on C-ITS (Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems), communication network for transport and infrastructure called RSU - Road Side Units like traffic lights, Construction signs, Toll bridges, charging stations and OBU (On-Board Unit) like Trams, Buses, Cars, EV. Packets are sent on 5.9 GHz.
With some inexpensive electronics, data can be made visible.

The dependence on big tech's social media platforms is no longer sustainable. With moderation and fact-checking getting banned and big tech's power increasingly intertwined with political power, it is time to move to better alternatives.

Hurray! @nprofile…ca3e is turning 30! 🎉
On December 1, 1994, Waag was founded as a place for research and experimentation at the intersection of technology, art, and science. Since its founding by @nprofile…9p7h and Caroline Nevejan, Waag has developed into an established Futurelab that focuses on designing a sustainable and just future.
Next year, we will look back and share our favorite highlights of #30YearsWaag!

This week @npub1n25…k9vx introduced a fantastic new and affordable dev board for #meshtastic and #lorewan. It is a thumb-sized board (180x220x180mm), stacking the XIAO ESP32S3 and Wio-SX1262 LoRa.
With these dimensions it should be possible to make super small housing for an outside unit, maybe even to put it inside an antenna! We will see when they come in... (to be continoued).
