Asked BraveAi to give me a best retro games for liminal spaces...
"Oh, that empty, eerie, dreamlike feeling. For retro consoles, try these:
Super Mario 64 (N64) — Peach’s empty castle, the endless staircase, and especially Wet-Dry World feel strangely quiet and unreal. strangerdimensions.com
LSD: Dream Emulator (PS1) — the purest match: wander through surreal, shifting dreamscapes with little explanation. itch.io
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (N64) — familiar places feel off-kilter, especially when you explore at night or near the end of the cycle.
Silent Hill (PS1) — lonely streets, fog, and deserted buildings; much more horror-focused.
King’s Field (PS1) — slow, solitary exploration through enormous, quiet dungeons.
Myst (Saturn, PlayStation, and others) — abandoned-feeling environments and the sense that you’ve arrived somewhere after everyone left.
Pac-Man (arcade and many home systems) — not 3D, but its repetitive, enclosed maze has an uncanny trapped-in-a-loop quality. nostalgianerd.com
Best starting pair: Super Mario 64 for cozy uncanny nostalgia; LSD: Dream Emulator for a full-on fever dream."
