These automatic reply buttons are really winding me up
Anyone know how to disable them? I'm on #android 15 and I thought I'd turned all this #ai? nonsense off.
Like if I want a machine to predictably reply to my friends and family what's left for me? Nothing except to pay the billionaire who made the machine that takes the love out of my relationships. Grrrr.

I don't like w3w because it's a proprietary system that's foisted on the public. I had call police from niddle of mowhere at night about a drunk man in danger. I said I'm 1 mile north of where the A123 meets the B456. No clue. I said I can give you a plus code (OLC)? No idea. I can give you GPS lat, lon. No. "Have you got w3w?" NO! Haven't you got a @#£& map?! Useless.
I quite like the idea but it needs to be free to be useful.

@npub1rh0…sjsf I'd love a 4 day week. But I've not heard any serious organized collective resistance to the structures that have produced and own it. Most of what I've heard is a mix of marketing promises (as you have repeated) and Oh cool, I can make wins here, let me give more money to google/ms/other.
My point is that it's not productivity that holds back a 4 day week. Just like it's not a lack of food production that keeps people hungry.

@npub1rh0…sjsf oh I wholeheartedly agree that ai (esp LLMs) are trained on stolen data and human creativity and work and that's unfsir.
Just like machines are based on knowledge of craftspeople.
I think we disagree on the likelihood of that resulting in anything other than more market dominance by the few.
AI promises nothing. PR/marketing by corp.s make the promises. Recall nuclear energy: "too cheap to bill for"?
Productivity was unlinked from wages (but not profits) since Thatcher/Reagan.

@npub1rh0…sjsf I think "redistribute the benefits" sounds much like trickle down economics. Which just cements the right of the rich to more riches, because, then they can give to the rest of us. Like "They're the wealth generators." (about as true as landlords being "housing providers").
Regulation is needed for sure, but not the "would you mind...?" kind which always fails for collecting taxes.
I don't see AI doing anything like bringing a 4 day week. Rather bringing the 7 day gig economy.
