getting reports of pixelfed share/boost issues. it seems to lose track of the counts and the listed accounts
not sure if these two issues are related in any way but here's what we found:
-user share/boost post and after a server reboot, the default icon (non boosted) state is shown to the user
-some posts with x number of share/boost no longer shows the accounts (see photo)

android mobile apps pixeldroid and fedilab seem to work just fine and perform much better so the issue could be due to code for pixelfed web version and how it handles timeline and mute

2023-09-21 21:40:45 GMT

instance admins should be aware of the following major issues with pixelfed. the web version have been neglected. timeline feed much slower and any mute of account will completely break individual timelines

it was mentioned slow timeline was fixed but the local timeline continue to be slow loading in version v0.11.9 - anyone know which commit includes the fix?

the pixelfed mobile app (v1.0.0.33) will show "not supported" error message when making a new post. we are on the latest release [70e8203] and the app should not have targeted unreleased dev version
using web app will not have this problem. if you must use mobile app then we recommend version 1.0.0.29

one disadvantage with activitypub is that accounts are not fully portable. what does migration mean in this chart? user posts, account details, medias can all be moved between software?

@npub1psy…pasy the problem is that there's no alternative because everything else flows through the major providers. so it is still fast, free and anonymous in it's own space until someone else can come up with a better solution for the regular joes to use
