One Health, Land Seizures, and the Gut Crisis: How Global Policy Threatens Our Food and Health
Source & Broadcast Details:
Host: Beef News Podcast (The Beef Initiative)
Guests: Texas Slim (I Am Texas Slim Foundation), Dr. Meryl Nass, Dr. Sabine Hazan, Dr. Kat Lindley, Breeauna Sagdal
Original Broadcast: BeefNews.org
Date: Jan 14, 2025
Summary & Key Points:

This episode exposes how the global One Health Initiative is accelerating the centralization of agriculture, medicine, and land under the banner of health security—while undermining local food systems and gut health. Texas Slim is joined by Dr. Kat Lindley, Dr. Meryl Nass, Dr. Sabine Hazan, and Breeauna Sagdal to break down how these policies jeopardize land ownership, livestock health, and human immunity—and what local communities can do to fight back.
Key themes include:
• Land Under Threat: Conservation easements, community buyouts, and global agreements stripping farmers of land rights and trapping them in restrictive contracts.
• One Health Overreach: A WHO and CDC-backed governance structure merging human, animal, and environmental health—critics say it bypasses local agriculture and pushes centralized control.
• Gut Microbiome Collapse: Dr. Hazan reveals an alarming decline in bifidobacteria—a cornerstone of immunity—caused by antibiotics, poor diets, and industrial farming.
• Decentralized Solutions: Texas Slim calls for strengthening local food systems and reclaiming health sovereignty—starting with knowing your rancher.
Notable Quotes:
Texas Slim: “This isn’t just about food. It’s sovereignty—over our health, our land, and our future.”
Breeauna Sagdal: “What we’re witnessing is the erosion of local control over land use and water rights.”
Dr. Sabine Hazan: “Gut health is collapsing—both in humans and cattle. We must rebuild from the microbiome up.”
Why This Matters:
Centralized policies threaten the foundation of self-reliance—our land, livestock, and health. Ranchers, doctors, and scientists agree: the future depends on decentralizing food and medicine.

We're excited to announce here that in just a couple days The Beef Initiative and the I Am Texas Slim Foundation is debuting their First-Ever Tomahawk Ribeye Eating Contest! Allow The Beef Initiative and Texas Slim to be your guides on what we call The Great American Cattle Drive.
This cattle drive isn't just any cattle drive. Think Charles Goodnight, Joseph McCoy from the 1880s – but modernized with Bitcoin. Over the years, the beef industry became congested and centralized, resulting in a country that is now a net importer of foreign beef. We’re here to change that. One way we aim to do so is through our collaboration with all of you through the gates of The Beef Initiative and the Cattleman’s Feast.
We invite you to join us in presenting a solution to the multinational corporate stranglehold over our food supply. A solution where verifiably real money meets verifiably local food. It's the Modern-Day Cattleman Way.
