There's something I notice about people fixated on information control.
They really hate the fact that social media gave people the smallest whiff of being able to have conversations about difficult topics on their own terms.
It's usually phrased as 'the kids on their phones' but you'll notice it will leak out into any area where people can find their own voice.
One of my bigger concerns moving forward is that the small-scale control freaks will team up with the warmongers to suppress dissent entirely.

What 'brain hacks' have you actually tried and found effective?

I'm convinced that television is/was still worse brainrot than tiktok/shorts

I fully expect we'll eventually see the same thing happen with AI.
Instead of "now built using AI Technology™️" tools will just have it on the down-low to not scare away people tired of the BS.

The boost is the ultimate litmus test for whether a person is capable of self-informing.
To boost a post is an easy, convenient task and one which we all recognize as the correct, appropriate thing to do. To boost a good post is objectively right. There are no situations other than dire emergencies in which a person is not able to boost a post. Simultaneously, it is not illegal to just let the post slide and be forgotten. Therefore the boost represents the apex example of whether a person will do what they can to improve the information landscape without being forced to do it. No one will punish you for not boosting, no one will fine you or kill you for just scrolling on. You must boost quality posts out of the goodness of your own heart. You must boost great works because it is the right thing to do, because it is correct.
A person who is unable to do this is no better than the average YouTube viewer, only capable of being directed by attention-grabbing algorithms threatening to withhold precious dopamine.
The boost is what determines whether a poster is a good or bad member of the World Wide Web.

Allegedly the Canadian military estimates the USA would take Canada in under a week. The plan would be to then to launch a massive [insurgency campaign](https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-military-models-canadian-response-to-hypothetical-american-invasion/ ) and apparently [recruit help from afar](https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/government-plans-to-boost-canadian-forces-with-foreign-recruits )
To me, this says that any attempt to liberate Canada would merely transform the country into another meat-grinder like Ukraine.

The road has been hard but I'm keeping at it.
I'm down over 270lbs, and victory over obesity feels within reach.

In hindsight it seems they didn't need to attack self-hosting directly because the plan was always to price consumers out of hardware access.
