My daughter was advised/encouraged by their teacher to take a Linux (sic) command line course.
She was enjoying it until she unexpectedly hit a paywall at chapter 4 (of 6).
Can you recommend a free as in freedom GNU/Linux command-line course or tutorial?

No, not rude at all.
In fact, using the speaker phone is less rude to me than talking on the phone in public without speaker.
I see very little difference with talking to my friend in public when they're physically there.
I'm flabbergasted what makes so many of you think there's a difference?

Age verification has nothing to do with "using one's own computer", it's about running the software on a [your] computer (for any purpose; freedom 0).
Just to note that these kind of things have been predicted and warned for since 1983: If you don't [choose to] run free software, you don't own your "computer", the "computer" owns you.

I really don't get the whole idea of the cookie popups on websites.
I mean, everyone always chooses for: essential cookies only? I do, anyway.
Some sites even say: "Don't you want a functional site?", to which I always silently reply: "Knowing that everyone disables all optional cookies anyway, don't you want (to build) to have a functional site?"
I don't care all that much if your site is broken, it's your site, your choice.

Ik ben een groot voorstander van het maken van betere keuzes.
Het is voor het individu nagenoeg altijd voordelig om betere keuzes te maken.
Ik snap niet waarom niet iedereen altijd betere keuzes maakt, het levert gewoon zoveel op.

Microsoft stifled innovation, bought their Monopoly from the DOJ and managed to keep computer users dumb and in the dark for thirty years. Google degraded continuously and then dropped their "don't be evil." All well before Trump.
What the hell do you mean?
Is it worse than terribly bad under a fascist regime? Even less rule of law for them, even more opportunities for corruption. Probably somewhat, yeah.
It wouldn't have been so bad though had we all switched to free software, like you've been told to do for 30 years.

Klacht over #Buitenhof aan ombudsman.
Twan Huys interviewt/modereert in gesprek tussen Jesse Klaver (GL/PvdA) en Henk Vermeer (BBB).
Henk verkondigt meerdere leugens, die Jesse recht moet zetten, zonder dat Twan daar iets over zegt. Of je nu liegt of niet, alles voor de kijkcijfers, right? De waarheid, factchecken, het zal ons wat?
Jesse Klaver laat zien hoe de BBB, vertegenwoordigd door Henk Vermeer, onze rechtstaat en democratie ondermijnt.
Aan het einde van het gesprek vraagt Twan aan beiden of ze het zien zitten om samen in een "middenkabinet" zouden willen zitten. (Nee.) De vraag is ook al vreemd, de BBB is inmiddels opgeschoven naar extreem rechts, hoezo ooit "middenkabinet"? WTF?
Twan rondt het gesprek af met: "..het bevestigt dat, wat ik niet wilde horen, maar wat u gezegd heeft."
Dus, de NPO/Buitenhof had bij monde van Twan Huys veel liever gehad dat GL/PvdA het niet zo nauw zou nemen met onze rechtstaat en democratie, en gewoon gezellig samen met de BBB die af zou gaan breken?
Ik kijk voorlopig geen Buitenhof meer, en ga me beraden over mijn VPRO lidmaatschap.

Ik heb hier toch echt wel een kanttekening bij. Ja, we worden geregeerd door fascisten en toch heb ik er bijzonder veel vertrouwen in dat we binnenkort verkiezingen hebben, wat maakt dat 'regime' wmb misplaatst is.
