Mads

Ok so you know that autoimmune disorder my sister has and I'm getting tested for? And the connective tissue one? Well there is a condition associated them called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and people develop crazy allergies. Honestly, it's super confusing so look it up if you want to know beyond that. But I spent a year in/out of the hospital on steroids and shit from allergies randomly when I was 18. I had a lot of stress that year (leaving my family and marrying Tyler and moving across the country and him deploying and leaving me alone) and I think that's what kickstarted my bazillion allergies. Could also just be random. Idk I always thought I moved and just reacted to a new climate idk.

Yeah I was refilling the chicken feed and had a 20lb bucket of feed I was carrying with my baby on my hip... Tried to swing the bucket up and out of the sunken cinderblock greenhouse and wasn't strong enough... The bucket swung back and whacked my ankle twice into the cinder block. Fractured and split my tendon like a cheese stick. I walked it off but it never pausing and holding back tears. Then my ankle got swollen and I had to ice it that night and limp around... Honestly the worst pain of my life was the MRI for this injury. I cried the entire time in the machine... Not as cool as a fight though... Did you at least win?

I've been creeping closer and closer to "underweight" recently. The last two surgeries I had ruined my appetite and I think I've lost a bunch of muscle honestly. I really want to gain strength back. I can't put any weight in my left wrist, I actually have to redo surgery. I tore the joint about 5 years ago, and sprained it twice since. I had surgery in June and will be redoing it next month. I see if I can do a squat, I'm not stable on my foot yet.

I'm still recovering from surgery but I have PT tomorrow, working on getting back on my feet. Every day is better but I'm not walking normal and it still hurts. Baby steps I guess. When I'm healed I really want to get into weight training because I don't want to be a frail old lady. I'm 29, I still have tons of life to live. I just know I need to be a little more careful since I keep getting hurt. I'll look into those types of exercises, thank you

Yeah I fell down the stairs and sprained my thumb because I didn't know I had shredded my tendon in my leg when I fractured my tibia. Oops.

I printed up notes I wrote and cEDS criteria and stuff about POTS and my health history. My doctor today was pretty great and gave me referrals and did some labs. I've had a really rough 8 months health wise. 2 sprains, joint surgery on my wrist, and ankle surgery couple weeks ago. He's sending me to a rheumatologist.. I wasn't sure who to go to for EDS and mentioned I had read about that and he said that was fine and sent a referral for me. My orthopedic surgeons just said I had bad luck, but they didn't do for my health history and only were looking at an isolated event

So they had said on her discharge paper they did an EKG and they did NOT do that. She actually had looked through labs she had months prior and how she had a positive marker for AAG being too high (or something) and she told her primary doctor and the PCP pretty much didnt care. The hospital said to give her a referral to neuro/cardio and then they didn't and her primary said she didn't need the referral... So I told her to change doctors. So she did and finally got diagnosed.

The twitchy stuff only started happening to her in the past few months! Which led to a hospitalization... Actually one of the doctors told her that it was "just stress" and that "maybe she should consider getting a job since she's unemployed and obviously stressed about that"
My sister is a stay at home mom :animu_laugh: idiotic doctors.

I did therapy about 8 years ago to work through some trauma and the psychologist suspected I could have ADD/HD but I backed out of the formal testing because I'd have to be away from my newborn for 3 hours and couldn't take him. But she said those type of symptoms can be from trauma and how my behavior/brain works because of that. But honestly the brain fog and memory issues I have are highly distressing. My husband will ask me to do something and I will completely forget and become very depressed because I can't seem to remember important things. I make lists and set reminders and they help me keep organized. But yeah, definitely something I struggle with. I've seen my great grandparents have dementia and a huge fear is that it will be me someday and I hate that. I'm kind of hoping I do get the POTS diagnosis since so many symptoms I have kind of hinge on that and me not feeling crazy.
I've unfortunately had to have 4 C-sections and my husband and I talk about asking for clomid to help me drop more eggs so my last pregnancy might have an increased chance of twins so we can complete our family :animu_laugh: we have 3 sets of twins in the family.
I'm really sorry about about the eyes, I bet that is so awful 😞 and no she wasn't a floppy baby she was just a total brat child

My sister gets D3 and B12 injections, she got diagnosed with POTS last month but she also has a positive AAG and is talking to a neuro. If she gets upset she goes into episodes where her body shakes and her face starts having bells palsy like symptoms and facial spasms. It gets so bad she can't even eat properly.
I have Hyperemesis Gravidarum pregnancies and it is quite fascinating knowing about POTS now and the link to HG...

I looked at it before. I saw doctors about that and went to an Allergist and dermatologist but nobody ever mentioned MCAS until I learned about it through pots and eds research

So when I turned 18 I moved across the country and broke out in a rash on my entire body and was very sick for a year. Took steroids for 6 months. Developed dozens and dozens of skin and food intolerances.. I'll ask about that when I see whatever specialist I go to next.

They had to reschedule my appointment last week but I had it this morning and got referrals for EDS and POTS. They had me do a screening test in office for POTS and I "passed" so off to the cardiologist I go. Did some labs too. Thanks for bringing up EDS @npub14ul…026d
