maybe you can 3D-print a clamp that you can place on the chip to read it without soldering. You can find them for DIP chips on eBay, etc. Just forgot how they are called. 🤔

wow, that's weird!
Apart from these two fixes, mine seems to work just fine. And I think it is 30 years old or so. It was in the kitchen when I moved in.
When I saw your post, I was baffled that they still use the shelves in the freezer compartment that tend to fall off so easily.

I wonder if this is going back upstream some time in the near future. I would love to see this in PrusaSlicer as well so I can use the latest printer profiles AND the nifty new features.

I had this salvaged cheapo NVME SSD in my drawer and was unable to remove the heatsink.
So I designed and printed a simple enclosure to use it as an USB drive.
TPU was not completely dry but it still turned out to be a functional gadget. ✨

It's another #FreeCADFriday and I share another printable design created with @npub1a6y…n4kx!
I made magnetic tags to label the printer configuration. This is an easy way to prevent material or nozzle size mixups.
I place them where they are visible through the camera so that they can be seen via #OctoPrint.

before you mass print those, try if they stick to slightly wet glasses or mugs.
It is to annoying if you raise your glass and vault the coaster at the same time or have it drop at your feet 😮‍💨
The coarse surface might prevent that but it's probably good to check.

I made a filament storage container with a PC4-M6 pneumatic connector from a food storage box!
It can be connected to the printer via a PTFE tube and equipped with silica gel to keep the filament dry.
