This is my little brother. After getting kicked out of the Marine corps for alcoholism, (which is hard to do), he became a meth head biker. I heard a rumor a few years ago that he went to prison for shooting a guy with an arrow. I haven't heard from him in about ten years. Still if he showed up at my place needing a couch to crash on I'd invite him to stay as long as he needed.

I don't pay attention to any of that stuff. I just cook what I like. Life is short.
Multifactorial encephalopathy is the diagnosis. That's a complicated term meaning that multiple health complications overwhelmed my wife's brain to the point that it just shut down. Head trauma from the car accident left her more susceptible to this happening.
She's awake now but most of her brain isn't active yet. Mentally she's an infant right now. All of those more complex brain systems that develop as we grow up, hers are offline right now. There's no way to know how long it will take her to recover, or if she will fully recover. The neurology team is hopeful given the factors that led to this that she can make a full recovery eventually.
I just sit here and hold her hand all day. Sometimes we smile at each other. She's showing a little more muscle activity day by day but it's just random, involuntary movement. She doesn't respond to commands, so she either doesn't understand or doesn't have the ability to direct conscious intentional muscle movement. I talk to her all day long anyway.
A couple weeks ago I thought I was going to lose her, so even though this all sounds scary, I'm grateful to have an answer to what's wrong with her and know there's a chance for us to get our life together back. She's in the best possible care here in Seattle, and God is good. 🙏

My city collects yard waste through the recycling program, plus leftovers from a pretty large greenhouse industry. They use this waste in a large scale compost program, with citizens able to use the end product for free in their yards & gardens. This year they topped the 45 tonne mark 👀

Does America have an analog to e-transfer? I've always assumed that's why stuff like Cash app, Venmo etc never happen here. If I need KYC Bitcoin I can just use that to send $ to the exchange.
It's really sad how long it's taken is to just start to get back to this point. In 2016-2017 I had a Visa debit card that let me spend Bitcoin literally anywhere. I would just deposit some Bitcoin to coinbase, and it would cover the charge every time I swiped the card, just like a bank account. I lived on Bitcoin savings and Monero mining income for a little over a year. Gas, groceries, rent, home improvement, Christmas presents, all of it paid with crypto. Coinbase ended up shutting the Shift debit card program down, I assume for tax accounting reasons. It's taken us years just to get close to something that good again.

The hospital that my wife was taken to minutes after the car accident had discharged her after only two hours. They said they needed the bed. They said she was fine. Their own imaging and labs indicated severe trauma. She almost died a couple days later from liver trauma and internal bleeding.
It takes a long time to sue a hospital, but eventually they're going to end up paying off our mortgage and probably more. We have a ruthless lawyer. Nobody appreciates lawyers until you need one. Justice will be done.
