The only thing I'd change is, coins aren't random enough unless you get a real random coin, and since the coin is being used for the same operation over and over it compounds. Use another casino die and say odd = heads and even = tails. And, instead of saying "this die is the coin", make the last of six (right to left and top to bottom" count as the coin, this randomizes any loss of entropy a little bit more should one of the dice have a significant bias.

My bet this attack was weeks in the making. Once the attackers assembled enough private keys for high value utxos they executed.
My biggest disappointment is relying on a hardware vendor that has 'Don't Trust. Verify.' plastered all over their product marketing and the primary motivation that led to the bug was a 'get out of open source' licensing issue.
Let this be a lesson for all in the industry.

I hadn't heard of OCLP. I didn't even know something like that existed. I had an old MacBook Air and the latest macOS update it supported made it unbearably slow. Chrome, Brave, and Google Drive started warning me they were going to stop supporting it. Imagine, even the browsers were about to stop getting updates. :)))
So I installed Linux Mint on it and now it runs like a champion. 🤩 I'm going to do the same with my wife's MacBook, which is actually in better condition than mine.
Once you have Linux, you can use these agents through the Terminal, which isn't the most comfortable experience. I'm definitely a GUI maxi when it comes to AI agents. They make everything soooooo much easier and faster, and they help you keep everything organized. But the terminal is perfectly livable. You can still make them do the craziest shit you can't imagine yourself ever learning to do. These guys are amazing! They've saved me so much money by stopping me from buying unnecessary shit and I haven't even mentioned how much time they've saved me.

That's precisely what I mean. ChatGPT tries to learn about you without you having to explicitly tell it to (although you should enable the Memory feature in the settings). With Claude, my experience has been the opposite. Every new chat feels like meeting for the first time. Maybe I'm being unfair. I only played around with it for less than a month. So take that as subjective. You really have to try them on for size and see which one fits you best.

I was taken in by the Coldcard sales pitch. Operated on the assumption that my funds were as secure as they could be by remote signing with my CC and broadcasting with Sparrow on my own node. The only reason why I'm not a victim of this attack is pure luck that it didn't happen sooner. When Bitcoin hit 100k, I decided to start cashing out a whole coin and moved my CC funds to a hot wallet and started selling a million sats per day.

I took all of the necessary migration steps with my #ColdCard but I might be ok. After doing a recovery for one that I gifted, I noted that the firmware was 3.1.9(2020) versus an affected version 4.1.9(2023). I realized that my seed was generated on the unaffected version, and I should be ok. I upgraded the firmware after the fact, so I should be safe? Is that a correct assumption #asknostr ? Nonetheless, I plan to continue all migrations.
