May I ask you a question? My brain works 24/7 (Well, I suppose everyone's does, else, they'd be dead). What I'm trying to say is, I find it very hard to switch off. I ponder the unponderables, but have no answers. Or at least I do, fleetingly, to my own basic satisfaction. You however, come up with the nuts and bolts, so to speak, behind your thinking. If I was you, I think I'd probably be insane. Maybe you are (Respectfully).

Nobody uses baseball cards, beanie babies or NFTs for purchases.
Bitcoin isnt any different.
You and I might spend and use it as money but it's already obvious the vast majority of people are not going to.
They hold a utxo for NGU. Like a baseball card or a beanie baby. Because before every purchase everyone thinks "muh generational wealth ∞/21M" and do whatever else they can to avoid using Bitcoin as money.
It's built into the incentives and incentives dictate behavior.

Idk if monero people are more plugged into the details or not. I think both communities trust the devs and influencer class A LOT.
I think the monero devs are better trusted than Bitcoin Core tho.
As long as they (the devs) continue optimizing for private digital cash that seems to be well placed trust.
But things change. And if they do I'd expect part of the community to execute a contentious hardfork a la Bip110.
So not that different maybe, just smaller. Like Bitcoin before the blocksize war.

"Consensus" means that ALL parties agree right?
If you've ever tried to do real consensus in a nuanced and difficult subject with more than a dozen people you know its fucking impossible and it means nothing happens.
This is part of why bitcoiners dont understand governance. They aren't doing "consensus". Nobody is, except for some hippies on a commune somewhere where they can afford to spend weeks deciding what color to paint the new ashram.
So it's in everybody's best interest that they examine the REAL governance systems the projects they care about are using.
Which is usually "the people who were in the meeting generally agreed"
whether it was to raise OP_RETURN or hard fork for better privacy or whatever.

In 2 days it will be Nymchat's 1st birthday. For an entire year I have been building nonstop. Refactored the entire app's UI/UX, rolled out so many features it's hard to keep track of them all, and eventually built a native Android and iOS app. Just look at the original versus today.
