People like Elon Musk MAKE money off of taxes because when you pay income tax, it goes to spy satellites, which goes to SpaceX, he's net-positive WRT the US govt and it's not even a conspiracy that it works this way. It's just that he happens to have something that the US govt would be fucked without, so they'll pay whatever he asks for it.
All of the oligarchy is like this, they have things that governments can't live without, so they pay whatever the number says, so all of them are receiving more money from govt than they give.
