Coming from macos it's probably not anything special... Apart from the tiling desktop stuff.
I was already on Arch with gnome. I tried tiling plugins and then I even tried to follow a tutorial on setting up Hyprland and just gave up out of frustration.
I still have my old setup on a separate partition, but I've migrated everything over, continued projects, filed some taxes last week and didn't have to jump back to the old installation once. That's mad to me. Connected headphones, casted to TV, taken screenshots...
It works better than gnome IMO. I mean, I guess it's closer to a Linux distro like Ubuntu than what I had before: arch with gnome and everything installed by me. But theming works better, I set up some gestures like three finger swipe across workspaces too.
My laptop would often crash after memory pressure... Probably because I don't know how to set up swap memory properly, but here I have no issues.
I think the ctrl+k shortcut was the absolute key to this whole thing. I would have never learned the key commands without a tutorial mode there the whole time.
Four days (Sept 10th) after the initial Liquid hack Bullbitcoin finally decided to address that half their wallet's functionality was down due to a critical breach in the liquid network.
Aqua was discussing the hack immediately.
This is not a serious wallet despite the good work in other areas (payjoin / legal battles in the EU / etc). Regardless Liquid is dead as soon as swaps return.

I think it's at least as safe as normal NIP-46 remote signing *if* you yourself retain a shard of the key under your exclusive control (and require *all* shards for a signature).
If you don't retain a shard, it seems conceivable that your friends may have worse security practices than you yourself would have had, and that they could all be vulnerable to the same type of attack.
So I guess I'd use the method as long as I myself keep exclusive control over a sufficient number of shards to give me a veto.🤷♂

And yes, if you’re a big target, all of your close contacts could be killed or robbed, one by one, like a hollywood movie. But that is certainly much harder than yourself being killed or robbed. So this point fails as well

Did you sign in with a remote signer or browser signer? You follow over 1K people so it will only allow you to make changes to your follow count if you’re signing in with a NIP-07 signer. Large follow counts don’t work at all with remote signers because of the NIP-44 hardcoded data size cap.

The risk is if your friends collaborate to put enough pieces of your key back together, or if a third party in the future steals a sufficient number of pieces from your friends. If you spread around key material, you lose control over how it's stored, duplicated, not deleted, etc.

The hard part is how senders know which encryption key is currently yours, especially how they can know when an old encryption key stopped being yours. Just announcing this through a 10044 doesn't do the trick, since senders can never know if they've received the latest announcement and thus can't be sure that they aren't sending their messages to a compromised encryption key.
Inkan solves this by recording key delegation and revocation declarations on-chain. The mechanism doesn't care what the key is used for, so it could be used under a 4E announcement.
I actually started experimenting with double ratchet, because Inkan makes it easy for an identity to assign (and revoke / rotate) device-bound keys.
