Be it education (to promote programs or institutions), or even grant programs (to promote grant making), or personal brands to launch products sooner or later, or business podcasts to promote businesses, or interviews to promote products and add-on services at some point. Seems everyone should know this and probably does, so not sure why people complain about sponsorships.. people need to get paid 🤣
Even if the motivation itself is not money (say you want to educate), you still need to find a way to sustain it. And yes, some people like to talk and it fits them well, and that's fine.
I suppose there could be a case where a wealthy person starts a podcast not really for money, but to grow influence (they've conquered the money ladder and now just do it for influence - which coincidentally also leads to more money haha)

Holding money as a speculative investment, ie for the NGU, is great if you can.
But it is secondary, as money isn't useful if you can't exchange it for stuff.
