wow! I've pretty much stopped using the chevereto software that I was using to host my nostr media with the Let's Fo Live software. I stopped uploading media to my chevereto 3 weeks ago.
I didn't renew my chevereto license this year. Im using it less and less because it's not compatible with nostr. I don't have much need for it anymore. It's too bad it's not compatible with nostr or have subscriptions so we can help host other nostriches with their nostr media.
Tonight I’ve started the process of remastering my entire podcast catalogue
When I first started in 2019, I didn’t know too much about sound engineering (I was using too much reverb & mastering in headphones) and I also had entry level equipment
7 years later, I have much better technology and I can make every interview shine.
I will also take advantage of this opportunity to fill my backlog: write a blog post about each and every interview, add individual Spotify graphics for every episode, upload YouTube videos of all the interviews that never made it there.
If I do 1 episode/day (very unlikely due to traveling to conferences), I should complete the work in 1 year. But maybe in 18 months I will have everything ready and up to the standard that I’ve come to expect these days.
Sometime next year, I want to also release the podcast in physical format for the big fans who also want to collect the content. Kind of like a DVD release with bonuses, except that it will probably be a 2 TB hard drive 😅
Anyway, it feels exciting to rediscover my older work. I cringe myself a little bit when I hear myself speak… but this only means that I improved over the years.
Will post more updates as I continue the process. Today I did S1 E1 with the late Donald McIntyre, God bless his soul.

It may not occur to people right away, but Jack also benefits from donating to OpenSats and wherever... even if he's doing it "for the mission" it still comes back as a tangible benefit via new tech being developed, or tested for him or benefit the industry which he is a part of. Not saying it IS selfish in motivation, but there are real benefits.
Ultimately all podcasts leads to money. Be it education (to promote programs or institutions), or even grant programs (to promote grant making), or personal brands to launch products sooner or later, or business podcasts to promote businesses, or interviews to promote products and add-on services at some point. Seems everyone should know this and probably does, so not sure why people complain about sponsorships.. people need to get paid 🤣
Even if the motivation itself is not money (say you want to educate), you still need to find a way to sustain it. And yes, some people like to talk and it fits them well, and that's fine.
I suppose there could be a case where a wealthy person starts a podcast not really for money, but to grow influence (they've conquered the money ladder and now just do it for influence - which coincidentally also leads to more money haha)

The podcast doesn't make money but it's part of the marketing and engagement package. Heather is no longer with Soapbox, but yes we both were paid via a grant. It's kind of like saying I'm paid to make notes 👀 I mean I am, I guess, but I'm also not too.

Stream Road said Zap Stream has issues and that's what lead them to build Stream road.
I think zap stream does have issues with the streamer UI. It's needs improving. The front UI for viewers, it doesn't have as many issues. I really love the viewer UI. It's simple and not cluttered.
I think if you are a streamer or viewer you should voice your suggestions and create tickets on GitHub outlining the issues. Zap stream needs its streamers and viewers to voice their opinion and point out the bugs.
I'm sticking with Zap Stream, just like I stuck with Amethyst and pointed out bugs and helped improve it. As much as I want to help out stream road i don't see the point of moving over to another platform when we can help Zap Stream grow and improve itself because even if we move over to a different platform that one will have bugs too.

hmm.. so I found out if you block a streamer. Amethyst won't block the stream in the live streams section because it looks at the stream publisher and says hey, this account isn't blocked and shows it, but it's the host it should be looking at or probably both.
Gonna have to report that bug.

Like I've mentioned in a comment to Alex (this thread) there're too topics of changing the fixed supply, paper btc, treasuries, stablecoins, skipping self-custody, blocksize etc. Many prominent people are captured/compromised, same for devs ,& mining, and with the current stuff soon noderunners (the base layer) too could be gone - taken over by technocrats, not to forget merchants lurred by stable-alternatives and/or oppressed by regulations. What recently happened with Coldcard is not a coincidence either.

Let's Fo Live the company doesn't actually host your media. You host your own stuff using their software on your server and they have the option to enter your backblaze account. I wonder if they will someday a nostr build accounts as an option? 🤔

Yeah... High five. I'm also not sure what to do when/if it splits. And it's not even that anymore, not about BIP 110 itself, but rather the whole topic, what it revealed. For me personally it feels worse than 2017. "Big guys" in between the lines are extra suggesting changing the cap of 21M, more and more often pushing on the "greatness" of stable coins, custodians, paper stuff/certificates, centralised reserves/treasuries, and sure pretty soon again the size of the blocks... One of the reasons that article hit me so deeply - yes, bitcoin is/was a gift and looks like we screw it. A dream that may turn into a nightmare, with everything I don't like about fiat but on steroids 🫣 Time will show... In this case I'm actually grateful to have my life & music to keep my head busy - happy - focused 😅

Why do people take sponsorship so seriously? Podcastsrs need money and it’s just one way to get some. You should know you’re being sold to… and act accordingly.
