🎯 You didn't need to be a genius to see that was the plan all along.
👏 Enjoy your victory!

Funny how the BIP110 PoW selection is running into the non-corrupt entropy problem that we all saw with ColdCard.
It kinda did. Considering how many people used it before, and that many nodes are run by companies on aws. Old Core and Knots are strongly represented. Of course you can set the parameters, at least for now, but it's also about sending a message that their new normal is not ok. https://npub1nxa4tywfz9nqp7z9zp7nr7d4nchhclsf58lcqt5y782rmf2hefjquaa6q8.blossom.band/db6d020ded9b9869b523923b7d916faa672922e90ab051861bbeb4f5c4a37097.jpg

Fun fact
In many countries jewellery is just a status symbol. However, in Asia (and probably other countries) many people buy jewellery as a hedge against inflation but their jewellery is 24c gold not the trash 12-18c sold (for lots of money) elsewhere. So they basically buy their jewellery by weight / gold price where others pay mostly for the brand name.
If you buy a gold necklace for €200 today in the EU it's probably ~18c. If you take it to the pawnshop an hour later they'll offer you something like €25-50. The Asian person buys a 24c necklace for the gold price and sells it for the gold price at the time of sale. give or take a few points the store takes.
Just thought I throw that out there. Btw, I also don't wear jewellery any more. Don't even wear a watch.
this is actually really bad. half of the supply is not circulating. That's many things but certainly not good for Bitcoin's "mass adoption" as MONEY.

"asset class" but what about "money"?
That's like an extra 1,572 sats per hour!! 🎊 GG!
Users who care about Bitcoin are now stuck with either an old knots version (pre fork) or an old core version (pre 30) amidst all these hacks. Lol.
I guess the pool miners have less hash or they don't have a rig dedicated to hashing RandomX. Their thought process is probably something like "I rather stack some than none" when pool mining. Personally I prefer an algo that discourages pool mining. Pools pose the risk of dominating a network - as we can see today with Bitcoin.
I love it when people compare Monero to some shit-token smart contract on ETH.
You have much to learn young padawan.
You can run your own monerod node and have XMRig mine directly against it, with no pool at all. Your estimated pool luck would be roughly 1 block every 4 days at 2 MH/s or every 19 hours at 10 MH's
my guides never had people connect an unlocked coldcard to their computer
would just need a roster mechanism on top of this to decide which edits/keysends count. didn't spec this yet but i'm working on it next. this is mentioned in the spec.
there is definitely an exfil risk with a rogue/modified client and noone would be able to know. if the user spying on the channel ever published anything they would be caught though.
also both the exfil user and the receiver would have to be running a rogue "channel spying client".
definitely not ideal... will think about it
then again any member can screenshot too, not like you can avoid people from exfil'ing from channels
doing some dice-free wallet maintenance...

idk but why would he tell me to tell people there was a bug but not fix it
he did not tell me anything about the bug except that users of my guide were not affected
Babe wake up they’re launching a shitcoin

i honestly did not remember that until you posted it the other day, it was 5 years ago
if you listen to the clip i clearly say he wouldnt tell me what the vulnerability was
supposedly it was a usb bug, which lines up since my guides were airgap
The conversation ended two hours after the signalling activated. It's only still a conversation for those in disbelief or those who need drama in their life. #nevent1q…k6rc
Hey my friend! How are you?! It looks like you're doing amazing :) nom nom nom! Enjoy the lobster!
Vlad, how can you be so right about so many Bitcoin topics?
Well, I’m glad you asked. I have 3 simple principles:
1. I look up to the builders, the visionaries & the guys I consider smarter than me. Not those who have been historically right, not the narrative gatekeepers. The guys who want Bitcoin to do everything and have a plan to make it happen.
2. I don’t care about what the others think. The high priests of the church of maximalism, the plebs, the pseudo celebrities like Max Keiser and the consensus craftsmen like Greg Maxwell or Mr. Hodl. I do my own thing without caring about public perception or whatever.
3. I always assume that I might be wrong and prepare accordingly. You can call me out for not having enough conviction, I don’t care. I’m here to breathe fresh air, not smell brainfarts in the same room philosophizing about their purity. This means sometimes I have to leave the room and take a look (and a sniff) from outside.
the last few summer weeks.
there are 8 years of podcasts that people can take out of context
i did not know about the bug until that thursday everyone else found out, and as soon as i did i posted here and on twitter
Yeah, been watching this for a while. Looking forward to actually play this.

"nobody knows and i didn't come up with this plan prior and i definitely didn't hand pick any of the choices."
not all apps are web apps and can be previewed very easily :P
We all believe Satoshi was smart? Right? Then he absolutely could have foreseen massive mining operations. If he thought Bitcoin was going to grow beyond a few weirdos then ABSOLUTELY he knew that it was going to require more energy. And it's absolutely naive to think that we'd have 8 billion BitAxes when we can't even get to 8 billion UTXOs. C'mon. Stop.
