unfortunately, LLMs are actually just as opaque as politicians. this is a fundamental flaw in the technology and one that needs to be addressed at some point. it's the reason for the asymmetry of production costs that makes hyperscalers the only ones building AI and everyone is kept out by a moat that is architecturally defended.
i've got some ideas about how to make AI reasoning transparent but i don't have even the basic funds to spend on that right now lol.
