This gentle king has quite the story. He got his nickname by riding on his mom Holly's back when she was swimming (she also won fat bear in 2019, see last pic below 🍑). He badly injured his leg when he was a wee lad, and his excellent mom created the space for him to heal. She slowed down so he could keep up and fished in non-prime spots to keep him safe. Is this what helped him turn into the gentle giant we see today?
Backpack is one of the oldest of the contestants, and one of the biggest. Yet instead of picking fights and throwing around his weight, this guy prefers to sit on his favorite rock and dance for his beloved. In an environment that rewards male aggression, he chooses peace. I love Pickapeppa sauce, and so far I can't get it in NL. So I looked up the ingredients and created this dish. Features allspice, thyme, chili flakes, and raisins. Ground beef, cauliflower, sweet potato, and black beans. Topped with mango salsa.

Anyway, this 1 girl, while at lunch says "I'm about to throw up on everything."
I said, "Oh that sucks."

My kitchen work is blanching 20lbs of carrots. So, since this batch is boiling, I scroll my follow feed and republish a bunch of notes to wss://spatia-arcana.com/favorites and wss://bookmarks.relays.land/all
I see some notes about another spam attack. I check wss:/spatia-arcana.com/inbox and we're safe. I hunt around with the client's inbox relay picker on replies to see if I can find some. I write a reply, botch it because I'm tired, delete it, and try again to write like a functioning adult.
I see the little icon for wss://lang.relays.land/la in the Noasis fixed feeds and I'm reminded of a recent conversation about language learning. I think about how badly I've neglected my desire to learn Latin over the summer, so I publish a (lame) note there. At least my Latin keyboard still works.
I swap my carrots to the ice and throw in another batch to boil. Then I scroll my community feeds, and wss://aquaticchickentheory.nostr1.com . I republish some other stuff make sure to react to nice notes because they're also votes for our trending feeds. I see something I want to zap, I open Amethyst and do that, then go back to my Hallway.
I have nearly lost touch with any complaints about Nostr 🫠 At this point, it's a conscientious choice to keep my thumb on that pulse.

We officially have permission to mount some public infrastructure nodes throughout the parks in our City!!!
I've even reached out to the programs manager to see if I can host a LoRa Mesh Radio class directly through the Parks Department next Spring.
And I've found the local CERT program folks, so my goal is to onboard them as well because for their purposes LoRa is even better than HAM.
