Better than I even imagined it could be. Thank you to Khun Piriya and the entire Thailand Bitcoin community from @npub1ejn…97a5 to @npub13pn…gctw #siamstr and beyond for putting that on. Some very cool projects and products (I bought a bunch of BoltKey from @npub1p2c…0r2c for Ride of Passage riders - pictured!) and great people. And a great mix of Thai and international speakers. The quality of care available here is stellar. Don’t sleep on Thailand 🇹🇭 npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Hey! Yes I go to the market often, though to be honest I'm not sure if they have a beef seller at my market. I bulk order beef from AUS/NZ or go to Thai French beef in Chiang Mai. npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Today’s myth about Thailand (#14) is that the lockdowns here were strict and harsh. https://m.primal.net/Jduy.mov Truth is I felt fairly free here during the whole of 2020 and beyond. Remember the insane nanny state we saw in countries like Australia and Canada? It didn’t exist in Thailand. There was simply caution and mutual respect, not a wild persecution of normal people by those on power trips. While borders were closed, internally the country was open for business. I was able to travel throughout Thailand and enjoy my life. Don’t sleep on Thailand 🇹🇭 npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Today’s myth about Thailand (#13) is that it’s hard to live here as a foreign family. https://m.primal.net/Jciq.mov The truth is Thailand is ideal for families — from sharing visas to cost of living and safety. Visa Sharing: Many visas allow spouses and dependents to join (Elite, Guardian, and the new Destination Thailand visa included). For example, if your child attends a school in Thailand, parents can get on that visa. Value/Cost of Living: A 3-4 bedroom house in Chiang Mai will cost about $1,000 a month, and full time help around the house can be had for $500 per month. Safety and Culture: Crime is virtually nonexistent, and social trust is high. You will get your peace of mind back. Getting Here: Leverage a remote job or savings to try Thailand for 90 days - see if it’s right for your family. Don’t sleep on Thailand 🇹🇭 npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Today’s myth about Thailand (#12) is that the food here is unhealthy. Truth is, the average meal here is going to be a lot healthier than what you’ll find in the West — especially the USA. https://m.primal.net/JbTp.mov My personal experience going back to the USA after 2 years in Thailand: I gained 25 pounds in 6 months. American food - from cheap to luxury - gives a dopamine rush like no other. You always crave that next bite. Thai food is different. Even after a small bowl of noodles, I often feel satiated. My brain says I’m done, before my stomach is in pain. You’ll find seed oils and a lot of carbs in Thai food. But consider that: - The land here isn’t decimated from 50 years of factory farming - Most produce is 1-2 hands from the grower - Most dishes are freshly cooked, without many/any processed ingredients Perhaps paranoia about a little seed oil is killing you far more than the seed oil itself. I feel MUCH healthier here than anywhere else I’ve lived, and I eat out all the time, without much concern for quality. Don’t sleep on Thailand 🇹🇭 npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Please don't come ruin it then npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd New Visa for Digital Nomads (and Families) in Thailand Stay for 5 years as a digital nomad in Thailand with the new Destination Thailand Visa. https://m.primal.net/JXDA.mov Who it’s for: Aimed at online workers, the visa allows a stay of 180 days at a time for 5 years. Also allows spouses and dependent children to hop on one person’s visa. Requirements: Applicants must prove they have or have earned ~$14,000 USD (500,000 Thai baht) via a bank statement or sponsorship letter. Even a past tax return could satisfy this (according to a visa agent spoken to last week). Must show a work portfolio or employment contract. 10,000 Thai baht renewal fee every 180 days. How to apply: Through your country’s Thai embassy or online through the eVisa system. Is Thailand for you? Safe, high value for money, everything from beaches to mountains to big city. Try it for 90 days first and see what you think. This is totally false ❌ Let me explain Smokey season and then the overall seasonal patterns, from smoke to cool to rain. https://m.primal.net/JHPN.mov You might be surprised to hear that it can go below freezing in Thailand in the mountains during winter! - Smoky season (March-April): dry land with field burns + forest fires makes for bad air quality. Also very hot. Bad air peaks for ~2 weeks with haze throughout. Plan your Chiang Mai trip accordingly! - Rainy season (May-September): 70-85°F / 20-30°C with occasional rains and high humidity. Often very pleasant. - Cool Season / Winter (October-February): 50-75°F / 10-25°C, beautiful scenery, tourist high season in the North of Thailand. Growing up in Chicago, I treat smoky season like winter: stay indoors with air filter & AC or escape to Bangkok/southern beaches. Just like I said in myth #4 about safety, you’re more likely to see the sex industry on display in a major American city than anywhere in Thailand. There are a few streets in the entire country which are known for this, and unfortunately they’ve become all some people obsess about - which says more about them than this country. Given the safety, great food, lush nature and friendly people Thailand is very family-friendly and wholesome. Here in Chiang Mai you have a large variety of international schools, family-friendly parks and outdoor activities like hiking and dirt biking. Don’t let some secondhand information throw you off from the beauty of this land and its people. Bangkok: Huge world class metropolitan city: amazing food, luxury condos, rooftop bars, world class nightlife, sleek and modern malls, skytrain 2. Northern Thailand: mountains for miles, great for motorcycling (hence the Ride of Passage), cool temps in winter, beautiful mountain villages 3. Southern Thailand: Beaches, beach clubs, high end resorts, amazing seafood. There is something for everyone here. This is a photo from a festival I went to in late 2021 hosted with a hill tribe in Northern Thailand. We ate the hill tribe’s local food, bathed in the stream, hung out with the cows and napped on piles of rice straw. And also listened to music all night on a set of incredibly epic Function One speakers. Thankfully this isn’t true ❌, with one caveat. Bangkok’s airports connect to over 120 cities across the globe with direct flights, including major hubs like Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Taipei. The city of Chiang Mai, with an airport that’s about 15 minutes from everything, connects directly to most Asian hubs allowing for one hop to Europe or the Americas. Streets are not designed solely for walking. There are some parks where you can walk undisturbed, but most streets you walk in will have car/scooter traffic as well. 2. Traffic can be dense, especially in high season from October - January. If you have a motorcycle/scooter this doesn’t matter as much (you can lane split, filter, etc). In a car, some streets get gridlocked at busy times which can make your commute much longer than planned. Avoidable with some planning and familiarity. 3. Every year around March the air quality takes a nosedive for 2-6 weeks. This is known locally as “Burning season” and is the result of seasonal forest fires. Many nomads choose to travel abroad, visit home, or go to Southern Thailand (like Phuket) for a few weeks to escape the smoke. npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd https://cdn.satlantis.io/1719579240896-chiang_mai.jpeg Pros and Cons of living in Chiang Mai Pros: 1. Incredibly safe and friendly vibe - as in zero crime of any kind, you lose your wallet and someone will find you to return it. It will break your conceptions of what life outside your front door can be like. 2. Very affordable cost of living. Houses rent for $300-$500/month, lunch is $2-3, gym is $2 for a day pass. 3. Abundance of nature; very green city, with hikes and outdoor activities right next door on the Doi Suthep mountain. 4. High concentration of nomads and expats in coworking spaces and 5. Incredible cafe scene, probably 1,000+ boutique cafes in a city of ~1M. High end coffee plantations are dotted all over Northern Thailand, so most beans are locally sourced. Cons coming next... npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd https://cdn.satlantis.io/1719579095790-panorama_chiang_mai.jpg Hello! This is your Satlantis ambassador for Chiang Mai. As an American living here since 2019, I've settled in to life in Northern Thailand for the long haul. For those of you planning to visit (or live in!) Chiang Mai, here is my "starter kit" of the best cafes, restaurants, massage spots and more I've discovered over my time spent exploring this beautiful land. I will be transferring this list over to Satlantis, but for immediate value, here’s the list on Google Maps. https://maps.app.goo.gl/uRCsEXDYRm9Zm2Ki6 The image includes far more locations I've saved, just to give you an idea of what I've seen around the city! npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Today's myth about Thailand 🇹🇭 (#5) is that the infrastructure sucks. The truth is it’s just as good if not better than what I was used to in the USA. Take a few examples: - Hospitals: private system is very efficient and cheap with great care. - Education: plenty of private intl schools with tuition around $4,000 a year (lot of variance here). - Transportation: Bangkok is connected to 100+ intl destinations, and Thailand has (checks wikipedia) 39(!) airports around the country. Round trip Chiang Mai to Bangkok is ~$60. Bangkok has 2 local train networks: BTS and MRT. And the road network across Thailand is vast - everywhere is reachable by car. - Shopping and Shipping: 1 day around Thailand, Shopee and Lazada are the Amazons of Thailand. - Internet: I pay $15/month for 100mb up/down on my phone, and $12/mo at home for 300mb up/down. Don't sleep on Thailand 🇹🇭 What else about Thailand's infrastructure do you want to know? This is probably the most laughable myth I've heard about Thailand. I understand why it exists: I grew up in the USA 🇺🇸 and the brainwashing that "everywhere else is poor and therefore dangerous" is strong... but you are more likely to die in your local grocery store in America than literally anywhere in Thailand. Thailand is by far the safest place I've ever lived in my life. There is virtually no violent or petty crime here. Imagine if the entire world was your living room - that's what it feels like to go anywhere in this country. After 5 years in Thailand, I'm discovering that Bitcoin runs deep here. There are Bitcoiners everywhere, they're just low key about it! The Bitcoin scene among Thais is large and growing fast. The Bitcoin Standard is now the #2 book at Naiin, a major bookstore in Thailand. There's a 4,000 person Discord server in Thai language dedicated to all things #Bitcoin , and the educational company @Right Shift has 30k YouTube followers and runs a global Bitcoin conference in Bangkok: v2 coming in September 2024. Also, check out the #siamstr community 😉 Bitcoin physical spaces and meetups like @npub13pn…gctw by PlebPiccoloJr (you on Nostr?) and @npub1e2a…8a4l , Bitcoin Learning Center by @npub1c9r…xu4k in Chiang Mai and @npub1yyh…xnuq in Phuket are also growing across the country. Most everyone you encounter in a restaurant, cafe or hotel will be able to communicate with you. That said, if you’re planning to live here or spend significant time here, you should invest time in learning the language. It will open many doors for you and make more complex interactions with govt, repair shops etc a lot smoother. Learn the written language first - it takes a few weeks of 15 min a day to get the character set memorized - and you will have a strong foundation for pronunciation and vocabulary. I used a course called Learn Thai From a White Guy to get the written language and sounds nailed. The rest I learned through daily life and some private tutoring. โชคดีนะครับ🙏 https://m.primal.net/IwQd.mov npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Some are STILL in prison for protesting? Here’s myth #1: Thailand is just for backpackers. Maybe this was true 20 years ago, but it couldn’t be further from the truth today. Yes, Thailand has a low cost of living. But it also has incredibly high quality and high value services. For instance, I can get a Thai massage at a local shop for $6/hour. Or I can go to one of the many high end spas in Chiang Mai and get the service, amenities and surroundings of a 5-star hotel for $30/hour. I can eat a local meal for $2, or a Michelin-star fine dining meal for $100. Beers in a local bar for $2 a pop, glitzy rooftop cocktails for $10. These are all accessible within Thailand, matched with service that’s way above and beyond for the price you’re paying. You can definitely live a cheap life here; but you can also live one of great luxury, for good value. We are being divided, pillaged, and made dependent on a corporate-governmental system for our very survival on all fronts: economic, social, mental, and spiritual. So what are we left with? A society that is tearing itself apart; there is no respect for one another, let alone self-esteem or the will to grow and create better days. We are increasingly affected by confusion, fear, depression, anxiety, self-limitations, analysis paralysis and addictions of many forms. The only perspective we all seem to share these days is that we cannot go on like this. Something must change. Weathering whatever change may come will require a new mindset, new skills, and new relationships which few of us today are accustomed to developing or practicing. We must develop sovereignty within ourselves, our families and our communities. Holding Bitcoin will not be enough. We must develop the mindset, skills and relationships necessary to resist dependence on the system not only for goods and services, but more importantly for our sense of self, our adaptability, our feeling of security. Without this belief in your own abilities - and the experience to back it up - you will bend the knee along with every other unprepared soul. Developing sovereignty isn’t achievable from your couch. It isn't taught (well) on YouTube. It requires you to go out of your norm, to get uncomfortable, to experience a wider range of emotions in life. Sovereignty is its own form of Proof of Work. And cultivating your sovereignty is the only way to weather the changes already in progress in our economy and society. You thought the Ride of Passage was a motorcycle trip? Purpose has been the most helpful. Having a direction and not giving up, working with others to help get through blockers, and offering value to others. I'm rereading the book Think and Grow Rich. I read it once in 2020 when I had a 9-5 job and it struck me as fairly obvious. Now I am picking up on deeper meanings and threads between the lines. Ultimately I don't think any of this that you're talking about - a sovereign mind / body - can be told to anyone; it has to be understood through personal experience. Good luck and if you ever want to talk, I'm happy to bounce ideas around. Love this stuff. npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Thank you @Techengineer21 for taking a Ride of Passage 🙏 https://m.primal.net/ISUW.jpg npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd A self-custodied stack of bitcoin does NOT make you free. It's barely a start. So what is freedom? First, a few questions: When you see a headline about the a 3 letter agency doing something horrible according to 'sources' - do you click? When someone tweets a mean thing at you - does your heart rate rise? Do you need anything to feel empowered and ready to take on the day? If you answered yes to any of these, you are not free. And when those with far more power than you decide to take your freedoms, you will beg, bow, and bend the knee to get stability and comfort back. That stack will disappear in an instant, traded away for peace of mind. Self-custodied bitcoin is a useful tool, but it's also employed as a crutch by many #Bitcoin-ers to avoid the much harder work of building freedom in your mind. Freedom from worry, fear, anxiety, stress, anger - this freedom cannot be bought. It must be earned. Earned through extreme discomfort, through frank conversations, through taking leaps, through quiet reflection. Only alongside freedom of mind can the freedom gained through a stack of sats truly be utilized. This goes much deeper than ignoring the MSM and not trusting anything. That can be just as much coping as only trusting the MSM narrative. Freedom of mind entails finding out who you really are, and how to work with your emotions and desires every day. Everything in life: every problem, every solution, every failure and every success is mental. Everything you see around you was created by a mind, and started with an idea. Your own freedom is no different. So how do can you cultivate freedom of the mind? Here is what has continued to work for me in the endless battle of cultivating and maintaining freedom of mind. 1. Regular (diverse) challenges 2. Meditation and mindfulness 3. Travel (not tourism) Challenges show you who you really are by pushing out the crap and testing you. You forget everything else as you push towards one goal. But challenges need to remain challenging. This means they need to surprise you, all the time. If a marathon is your "challenge" - after you run 5 of them, it's no longer a challenge. You know what to expect, you're adapted to it mentally. Find something else. This is why I don't talk about the itinerary before a Ride of Passage. If you know what you're going to do, it's far less stimulating for personal growth. Meditation and mindfulness is a cheat code. It is not woo-woo fantasy stuff, it cuts right to the heart of how our minds operate. One way I've found helpful to get in to mindfulness is by practicing focus. Riding a motorcycle gets me there instantly, because the fear of screwing up and breaking a leg forces me to focus on the road ahead, the feeling of the controls, my weight on the pegs. Yet sitting and meditating is still important. The mindfulness cultivated there allows you to step back and observe your mind, learn its patterns, and develop more deliberate responses to thoughts, emotions, and external triggers. Travel (not tourism) is the final, most fun way I've found to develop freedom of mind. Traveling puts you in contact with people, cultures, and societies that operate completely differently from you. What are usually normal, unconscious interactions (ordering food, taking the train, walking down the street) incredibly stimulating and often thought provoking. Just as meditation offers you a glimpse at how your mind works, travel offers a glimpse at how the environment around you shapes your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. However, most people with a passport full of stamps have never TRAVELED. They are simply tourists, using a vast network of tourist services to largely avoid these often uncomfortable experiences clashing with other cultures. Don't be a tourist - go travel and open yourself up to the world. This will set you free, as it has for me. Good luck 😉 npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Where’s my durian family? #asknostr #durianstr https://m.primal.net/IROf.jpg npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd I know many of you are disappointed that the Ride of Passage is on motorcycles. A van trip would be more inclusive and easier, but that's not the point of a Ride of Passage. The Ride of Passage is on motorcycles because each ride is designed to push your comfort zone. Motorcycles are optimized for growth, challenge, and thrill - not comfort. Taking a van wouldn't create the experience I want to have. We need to rough it - in the right ways. My first motorcycle ride was the 3 hour mountain road to Pai, where I almost wiped out multiple times. Was it comfortable? Not at all. Did I grow in a massive way? Undeniably. Now the Ride of Passage is NOT about putting your life in danger - but it's not a vacation either. I've designed the Ride of Passage to push your boundaries, within limits. Many parts will feel like a high end tour, from 5-star hotels to incredible local food and personal connections. Others may have you going, "why the hell did I sign up for this?" But I guarantee when it's all said and done, you will be glad you came on the ride. The defeated challenges, conquered fears, expanded horizons and deeper bonds forged through a Ride of Passage will be worth the time away from home. This is not a vacation. It is far more rewarding. This will shake you out of a rut. Quite literally change your life. Enjoy the challenge! npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Over the past four years I’ve started building websites to rank in Google. The idea is to get organic traffic to your site and then generate income off that. This is my first foray into making money on my own. And I worked at it – alone – for a long while. Until I discovered the Chiang Mai SEO community – and met Matt Diggity, Kyle Roof, Karl Kangur, Charles Floate and many more who already built what I wanted to build: a real business making serious money. ‘Networking’ when I was in a 9-5 felt scummy and largely useless. I kept my head down, got my work done, and collected my salary. But when building my own thing, networking became exciting. I saw how much value could be exchanged over a simple conversation. How I could help others and be helped - in ways that would completely transform my life - over a cup of coffee. Then I started to go to conferences – first Chiang Mai SEO and then the SEO Mastery Summit in Vietnam – and met more entrepreneurs like Sacha Fournier, Jamie I.F., James Oliver, Niels Zee, Jaume Ros, Nick Rowe, Jason Mills, Gael Breton and many more. All of them incredibly ambitious. They've done the work. They've built businesses that afford them the freedom to live and work anywhere. And they are continuing to hustle. But many of us have a big problem. We are all over the place. Even though we may be one conversation away from solving the next problem, we often lack the right networks to have that conversation. Many of us wanting to push our business to the next level are in silos, stuck behind computer screens. One relationship away from a completely changed life. I want to fix that. And I want to have fun doing it. Hence, the Ride of Passage: Mastermind. What is the Ride of Passage: Mastermind? The idea behind this ride is to mix adventure and business in order to create deeper bonds between entrepreneurs and generate more creative ideas. We will do this through a five day ride in the mountains of Northern Thailand on the digital nomad’s Swiss Army knife – the 125cc automatic scooter. Each day will be structured to provide a bit of adventure and a bit of entrepreneurial problem solving: often starting the day with a thoughtful question and a quiet ride or hike through the mountains, followed by an afternoon of mastermind-style problem solving around every participant’s business. Who is the Ride of Passage: Mastermind for? This Ride of Passage is for entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses and make close connections with others on a similar path. This isn’t for the wantrapreneur, and it isn’t a party or a coworking session either. This is a time to unplug, decompress, and go high-level with your business alongside a community of similarly adventurous and ambitious entrepreneurs. If that sounds good to you, check out the Mastermind here: https://www.rideofpassage.live/mastermind npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd You have some great road trip stories npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Of course you do. Mistakes are costly but the reward of taking that responsibility is like no other. npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd On my Bitcoin Tour across the USA last year, one region stuck out to me in particular. It’s a place which, honestly, I was not excited to return to. I grew up in this part of the world and I remember from a young age wanting to leave, to explore. But returning here... I began to see a new side. What this region lacks in mountains and New York minutes it more than makes up for in genuine, kind, and industrious people. It holds many untold histories and subcultures that are impossible to see from the highway. This is not “flyover country”. This is the American Heartland. Once I ran the first Ride of Passage in Thailand, I knew the American Midwest would be next. The heartland of the country holds hidden gems that fit with the vision of tours money can’t buy. It is growing into a powerhouse for technology, regenerative farming, and sovereign living – especially through the actions of Bitcoiners. The Bitcoin communities here are tight-knit and interconnected. While others larp about circular economies on Twitter, they are building them one sale at a time. What is this Ride of Passage all about? The Ride of Passage: American Heartland Tour is designed to connect you to this vibrant Bitcoin community through a motorcycle adventure with Bitcoiners. Over 8 days together you’ll visit Bitcoin meetups, regenerative ranches and cultural sites throughout the Midwest. You will sample some of the cleanest beef in the nation as you ride through commodity grain fields. You will visit farmstays creating a new tourism industry around regenerative practices. You will shake the hands of Bitcoiners with grand plans to build industry and wealth in the heartland. This ride wouldn’t exist without the help of those on the ground - from @npub1f5p…wt3z to Lake Satoshi, Indy Bitcoin, Columbus Bitcoin, Beef Initiative (damn I gotta find all of you on Nostr) and so many more! It also wouldn’t be happening without the legend Alan Jackson - who gives out more sats to taxi drivers and waitresses than most people will ever stack. He’s also one of the most experienced motorcyclists I know, with over 50 years of touring across 5 continents. Alan stepped up and will be leading the Ride of Passage: American Heartland Tour. I can’t wait for you to get to know him. Who’s the Ride of Passage: American Heartland Tour for? This Ride of Passage is for anyone seeking deeper connections to the Bitcoin community, forged through unforgettable adventures on two wheels. Limited to just 10 riders who will be personally vetted by me. Still have questions? Feel free to ask me, or anyone who was on the first Ride of Passage - Texas Slim, Satoshi Symbol, Alan, Wes, Cory, and @npub1sr7…2ggm Will you take sovereignty into your own hands by meeting those doing it every day? 👇 https://www.rideofpassage.live/american-heartland-tour npub1v5g4gkhazw4g7ncm9avpf8all4r3mgfw2fz0g9erzl6srv0vsz4sj9nsq4 captainsidd Riding my Harley across the USA to over 30 Bitcoin meetups, I noticed a unique camaraderie among Bitcoiners. What I saw overall saddened me: decaying small towns, frustrated people, misguided anger... From the ground, I saw my former home descending in to division. Except at Bitcoin meetups. Here I found diverse individuals civilly discussed critical topics—family, health, business, philosophy—across professions and political divides (imagine that...) Lawyers speaking with construction workers, ranchers with technologists, Democrats with Republicans… Bitcoin seemed to unite people under an umbrella of hope and pragmatism, in a time where these are rare in society. I see a deeply-held belief among Bitcoiners that individual responsibility and freedom lead to the best outcomes for society. When that belief is shared, many of the topics that usually drive anger and division lose their teeth. Bitcoin meetup organizers deserve all the credit for creating spaces where this unity grows. So after my tour ended, I had to figure out how to do my part… I wanted to bring Bitcoiners together, and do it in a way that underpinned the ideas of sovereignty and freedom. For me, travel brought sovereignty. I tasted a new sense of self-determination and purpose when I moved abroad to Chiang Mai, Thailand. I tasted a new sense of freedom when I started riding motorcycles. So what better way to bond Bitcoiners than over a motorcycle trip? Thus, the Ride of Passage was born. But the Ride of Passage is far more than a motorcycle trip. What is this Ride of Passage all about? This is a tour money can’t buy. Not just because we venture to places no tourist goes, but because the entire experience is designed to bring about a change in each participant. I want you to return home with more than just photos. I want you to return home with a piece of you changed, for the better. More free, more resolute, more sovereign. The Ride of Passage is not a vacation. It is a challenge you take on knowing you will come out the other side a stronger and more open person. And, by the way, you’ll experience this transformation through riding unforgettable mountain twisties, tasting incredible local food, and learning the untold histories hiding in the hills of Northern Thailand. Treated to the best hospitality available in the world. Just ask @npub1sr7…2ggm who embarked on his dream of traveling the world after he took a Ride of Passage. Who’s the Ride of Passage: Magical Thailand Tour for? This Ride of Passage is for anyone in search of sovereignty; mainly Bitcoiners. This is an adventure for those who value freedom, seek deeper connections, and are drawn to the unknown. Limited to just 8 riders who will be personally vetted by me. Still have questions?
