BTC is just glorified tech ai stock now.
You nailed all the right points
At this point 2026
- ALL OF BITCOIN ORIGINAL GOAL PROPERTY ARE GONE or have far better alternative for normie people NOT go through a learning curve.
In fact just blind maximalism in anycoin by anyone is pure stupidity beyond incubation period.
Any group friend or enemy right or wrong can be technical part of the chain - hence any vested powerful group can take upperhand n corner it both technically n price action. Thereby end its neutrality - nothing can be code wise except for creating another new fork. That all for now. fact majority is slowing controlled by derivative markets than onchain principle is major blow.

My understanding is that if you want to move between bitcoins L1 and drivechains, miners have to sign off on that. Similar to how miners currently have to choose to include your transaction in a block. But my understanding is fairly limited.
When I have taken the time to really sit down and read and reason through the proposal, all of it seems reasonable to me. My only real objection is that at some point some of these other drivechains may break off from Bitcoins side chain (if they become more profitable to mine than bitcoins original chain). But we already face that cost and pay it via people leaving Bitcoin for other chains that are more capable. At least drivechains peg them to Bitcoin mining and incentivize continued production of Bitcoin blocks. AND keep decision making power with miners, not some unelected federation like Bitcoin liquid or various l2 proposals.

Clarity Act Update
Here’s what the optimism won’t tell you: Polymarket odds for CLARITY passing in 2026 have collapsed to **23%**, down from **82% in February**. The Senate has until **Friday, Aug. 7** to act before the August recess, and lawmakers won’t return until **Sept. 14**. But here’s the twist that changes everything—some of the smartest people in crypto are saying failure might actually be *better* for innovation. You’ll want to understand why before you make your next move.

What happened this week in the Bitcoin World
You probably think Bitcoin’s quiet summer lull means nothing’s happening. The data says otherwise. US spot Bitcoin ETFs was busy—while retail search interest cratered to a five-year low of just 18 on Google Trends. But here’s what the mainstream coverage isn’t telling you: while institutions are quietly accumulating, a war is brewing over Bitcoin’s very soul—and if you’re not paying attention to what happens next, you might miss the signal you need, read on!

When you're marooned by your mutinous, cowardly crew, it can be a bit hard to find food sometimes. I'll find a new crew and a new ship. Doesn't matter.
And with that, BIP110 chain looks to be dead in the water. Two whole blocks, both by the same sub-pool of miners under OCEAN, until they saw the writing on the wall and called it quits, though "not defeat" somehow.

Sorry guys. I was sympathetic with the idea of placing reasonable limits on spam on Bitcoin, but you failed hard at winning hearts and minds to your cause, and then stubbornly decided "we're going to do it anyway, because game theory!"
It didn't work out. Changing Bitcoin is hard, and should be. 20% of nodes is not consensus. 80% of nodes not doing anything is not "indifference." Many of us stayed on Core or pre-RDTS versions of Knots as a specific choice against changing what is considered a valid block, and mining pools went with that majority.
Heck, even many OCEAN miners went with that majority, as evidenced by block 961634. OCEAN couldn't even achieve consensus among its "own ranks" and yet expected to game-theory it into existence among the rest of node-runners and miners? That was some next-level optimism.

OMG, troll!
You do know this is about the Bitcoin database, right? It's distributed, meaning decentralized. For example, on my private Proxmox server. And I have three core nodes running on it. No Bezos or Gates involved.
