So I guess there's some type of NATO party in town and as I'm walking extra far to my destination (they closed my usual metro stop for security reasons), I walk past these armored vehicles and get excited talking to my coworker like "omg, armored vehicles, we should use these to go rob the national archives." Last I checked, there were plenty of arts to go around. If there weren't, I wouldn't have a job. XD I guess the analysis would be: Which art is being produced vs. which isn't? The arts, just like any industry, is about making money. And you make money by being popular. Fringe stuff will never be popular or else it wouldn't be fringe.
However, the sad thing is that - at least in the US - a lot of funding has been cut from schools and the first programs to go are always art, music, and theater. So a lot of kids never even get exposed to this stuff to discover they're interested in it. Or if they are interested in it, they don't have the means to pursue it in any realistic way that could lead to a future career.

Now with access to Netflix again, I have started season 5 of The Crown multiple years after watching season 4. Everyone is getting on my nerves complaining about their royal yachts. Wow. Believe it or not, I did not know "Bonanza" had a meaning other than the title of this TV show until now. XD
Good on them for being rich boys then. Yet even with all that money, they could never keep a girlfriend.
The Rifleman takes place pretty close to Mexico if only by the sheer number of episodes in which they run into Mexicans and at one point end up in Mexico by accident.

Now that I'm paying more attention, Bonanza has gone off and The Rifleman has come on. I think the Rifleman aired earlier if only because there are no episodes in color like Bonanza. It takes place in Texas rather than Nevada. I just noticed the kid has that random shoelace-lookin thing that just kinda hangs under his shirt collar. Nothing there to keep it together though. There are also far fewer vests in this show overall. The main character is kinda dressed like someone I might run into in the Nashville airport today because he lacks all the accessories of the period and has no facial hair to indicate otherwise lol.

This kind of ties into what I was saying earlier about the centralization and elevation of sexual orientation terminology. Centering women should be enough. In fact, I think that should be the default for all women regardless of sexual interest because men view them as cattle more than human. But on top of sexual orientation terminology (to my understanding) being employed differently at the time "political lesbian" was coined, I do think it wasn't so different that women weren't aware that using this term (that was a product of the male centralization of sexuality) would have them taken more seriously in the struggle of noncompliance.

So while I get it's fun to roll our eyes at stuff like "apothisexual," I do think it would serve feminist thinking well if we took a step back and looked at how all this stuff started rather than argue about the confusing scraps tossed to us by male overseers. The playing field is always important because we all live in reality, but it's good to remember that the current playing field doesn't exist in a vacuum. Yup, which generally leads to me to the same conclusion. There's also this sort of... stereotype (which like many stereotypes has some basis in observable happenings) where women who grow old are fairly content on their own, particularly if they're not caught in a reported "hormonal haze" of their younger years. They're just as likely to focus on family as they are on friendships or general community building. But men are regarded like if they reach a certain age or length of time without a receptacle for their "needs," we should be fully prepared to deal with the violent or generally psycho consequences. Not even in old age either. No one thinks they'll make it that long. They'll blow up at 25.
I'm not an academic or anything so this is just me thinking and coming to conclusions based on my limited scope. I have been hoping to discuss it with others to test it out though. I'm not questioning whether or not sexual desire exists. It obviously does. I'm just questioning how we regard it and, if absent the male subjugation of females, things would've ended up looking anything like what we have today.

Sex drive... as well as a drive for community in general, for most though not all. I'd argue a need for food, water, and shelter is far more core. But we don't dwell too much on that. Though I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of... vegetarian pride flag. I prefer 1-bedroom pre-war style accommodations myself. I'm perplexed by products designed simply to add flavor to water. What's wrong with the original? I could go at length about the type of friendships or family structure I prefer. For many, that might include sex. For me, it doesn't. And while "nuclear" and "multigenerational" households have names, there's far less shouting about that than being something like /polysexual/... unless you include all the shouting about nuclear families usually stemming from the fact that male governments don't think women are meeting their necessary baby quota.

Along with this song being banned by Korea's main broadcasting stations, I do find it interesting that it has been weeks and there is still no English translation available for the official video when K-pop MV's usually get released with English captions already in place. It was banned for being "too sexual." In reality, most people believe it was banned for painting marriage as a negative thing for women in a country that is scrambling to find ways to get women to marry and have kids. Men seem to be associated with the extremes. For example, it is often only men who are considered to be capable of genius when it comes to anything. At the same time, men are also commonly seen as responsible for doing stuff so dumb that just reading about it will kill your brain cells. My life on YouTube - and my internet life in general - has always been 90% about fandom. I like things. And I am prone to liking things quite intensely. Stuff that no one around me irl likes. So I dove into the internet quite early to connect with people and seek out content for the stuff I really like. Even social media was about fandom. It was bizarre to me all through middle and high school that kids from my class would go home to continue talking to each other all night in chatrooms or whatever. I joined social media to talk to strangers who just happened to be other fans. And honestly, I have no idea what people do with their time if their lives are devoid of fandom. I asked a work friend once. She says she cleans the apartment, watches documentaries, and smokes weed. 😂
Anyway, after clicking on one stray video that was recommended to me about friendship out of curiosity, I seem to have unlocked this other side of YouTube that's just... kind of... a drag? And I do wonder about the mindset of someone whose algorithm is all this kind of thing.

Just stumbled upon someone talking about an experiment conducted once where they left a group of boys alone for some length of time and a group of girls alone for some length of time. The boys immediately developed a hierarchy, assigning a leader, while the girls did not, instead opting to communally do their own thing.
Truthfully I've never given much deep thought to hierarchy before. I do know that at work, where I've been a manager since I was fairly young, I have been told many times that I should behave and carry myself a certain way - typically with force and finality - and have often been criticized for my lack of an "iron fist" approach even if I explain that there was no reason for me to have an "iron fist" with the particular group of people I was working with. I do find myself needing to act beyond my comfort zone when more men are involved, giving more thought to how I interact with each person to get them to do what I need them to do.
Anyway right now where the production/leadership side of this show is exclusively male, I have found that there is a big to do always being made about who has which title and how much deference we show to any given person which, to me, seems entirely counterproductive and a waste of time. One second I'm being treated like dirt because someone of a "higher status" is present, then the next second I have other people tripping over themselves to help me because I "shouldn't be doing such low level work." I do wonder how the culture in this particular workplace came to be this way.
With my main crew of women who I enjoy working with, we've always divided things up by individual strengths and titles were more or less meaningless.

Well I guess first there is the still unsolved murder of the woman. Then on top of that, there is the murder of the scientists.
I think the people involved in the mine are responsible for the murder of the woman and that cop who beats his kid helped cover it up.
Then you've got the missing scientist who was obviously pretty disturbed from a while back somehow getting his hands on the woman's missing tongue which would suggest he knows who killed her. He's also very much entrenched in the occult. So maybe he could've killed the other scientists as part of a cult ritual, but was spurred to do so by someone overseeing the mine.
I wouldn't be surprised if the missing scientist was dead too, just somewhere else, because he knew too much.

As someone who grew up fully planning on having a military career, I feel like once you begin speaking of war, it doesn’t make much sense to simultaneously engage in debates about morality. In fact I don’t think it is possible to do so without dodging hypocrisy. Because once in the theatre of war, there can only be the mission for those waging it and those who get caught in the crossfire. That’s the way it always has been and the way it will always be.
Which is why I guess all the debates I witness these days don’t make much sense to me. I see where everyone is coming from, but you have to decide what you’re talking about: The mission or the morality? Once you get down to the nitty gritty, you can’t have both no matter how much the thin veneer of etiquette has come about and morphed amongst men who come to the conclusion they must take or lose, eradicate or be eradicated. I think this is true whether you’re talking about neighborhood gang conflict or warring civilizations.

I don't think I was ever told puberty would be difficult. I don't think I worried about anything except randomly spraying blood everywhere one day. But that happened when I was 12. The more this happens and aircraft malfunction and bridges fall, the more I think I should’ve given engineering a shot. I thought for sure there a people out there more suited for this than me. Maybe I would’ve been ok. XD

Yeah. Hurting men’s feelings got me banned from pretty much any sub related to femaleness or blackness… even subs I’d never been on before. Even got a DM telling me to unsubscribe from one they didn’t control and I didn’t… thus the mass ban. So silly. Yet also mildly terrifying.

I'm trying to adjust to this "having an assistant" situation. Cause first off, I've never had an assistant. Then this company went ahead and gave me a second one just because they like this person and I guess wanted to give her a pay bump.
But in terms of day to day tour operations, it seems over the years this company has fabricated tasks that I'd 100% categorize as "busy work" in that they are entirely redundant and unnecessary.
Then they say, "Well if you need to update a schedule item, you can just tell her to do it!" But let's say I know bus call is changing from 9am to 10am. It would take me less time to simply open up my phone, change a number, then continue on my way. Why would I ask someone else to do it?

From my brief time gawking at the comphet subreddit, it was not uncommon to see women saying something like “I had a comphet relapse today and hooked up with six different guys at a bar, how do I overcome this???” And I’m like… is this alcoholism? XD

Too graphic. But then I heard the author say his inspiration behind writing it in the first place was that he wanted to make a LOTR scale story... but with gratuitous amounts of sex. So that tells me all I really need to know.
