At any rate, I think this is over our pay grade and you need to talk to @npub1wqf…qsyn directly about it. I don't feel comfortable editing core event structures without his go-ahead.
Are tags mandatory and that's why you want it in the content?
We didn't talk. You came, yelled at us, and then added a "d" tag.
We currently have no "author" or "title" tag in 30040. Only "title" in 30041.
https://wikifreedia.xyz/nkbip-01/npub1m4ny6hjqzepn4rxknuq94c2gpqzr29ufkkw7ttcxyak7v43n6vvsajc2jl
I have the "d" tag in the examples, but I can add it to the text and make it more explicit.
It was updated last week.
Yeah, those deep, philosophical debates between pedos. Seen em. Bizarre.
It's like, do you really go around, looking at pictures of women, and THAT'S the first topic that comes to mind?
I feel like this gives us more information about you, than about her.

@npub1m3x…a5sf @npub1wqf…qsyn
L
At the moment, we have the "d" tag for the title and a longer title and author in the content. I just copied your Highlighter format. 🤷♀️
Some people are very easily amused.
💯

😂 Yeah, I get "okay, now without filters" and I didn't use any.
I haven't gotten the trendy "not rapeable", yet, but I sincerely hope that it's universally true.
I've gotten "past your fuck-by date" and "you must be over 40!"
Porn has completely rotted their brains.
Internet misogynists are really easy to identify because they think pointing out that a woman isn't 17, a virgin, and looking like a supermodel is an insult.
They be like,
You're middle aged, act like a normal human female, and are average-looking!
https://c.tenor.com/ZXoA_Jm8Rn4AAAAC/tenor.gif
On the other hand, hard to serve an arrest warrant or restraining order, if they don't show up in person.
I just had someone I've reported because they are 💯 insane just declare they're not going to meetups and it's like
https://c.tenor.com/7pIrRLMriwYAAAAC/tenor.gif
My name is npubbunchofnumbers.
Is he going to offer Lightning?
You can do that over the Internet, tho. I just scan my laptop monitor.
Yeah, just let everyone tag people they really know. Then they can use that list to filter their feed or limit DMs, or to weight WoT.
Can't even tell if it's a parody, so either hilarious or disturbing.
Need to get the data from somewhere, tho. Need to be able to label npubs.
that reminds me of hiking with a classmate from Czech Republic who introduced me to sardines on baguettes. my silly granola bars were no match for the energy output of sardines.
sounds incredible. are there paths to walk other than the railroad tracks or the highway?
Why is this not a thing? 😁
#nevent1q…ml30
Yeah, wish I could weight npubs by IRL or not.
Yeah, but the fun people are there. 😊
Obvious misogynist is obvious.
Sure, but you would need a lot of them. And a lot of us have flat-rate public monthly tickets.
Oh, right. We could maybe advertise on there.
But @npub1dtg…up6m ignores me, when I tag him.
https://cornychat.com/penbridge219
i can't find the login button, nip-7 right?
do i have to start a chan before i cans log in?
haha, yeah, i am now forming the opinion that escoots are bad but ebikes are the literal satan
gonna be riding old school with V calipers and rim feet and carrying spare tubes and feet and tools onboard from here on
plus i'll probably get a bit lean and fit from climbing the hills
bike has no gears, which is another plus, less things to break
yes i'm available for hire, maybe, sorta depends
i've got scheduled work on for the next 3 months probably, maybe i can squeeze that down to 2 months and i have some part time in between
how do i hang out on cornychat exactly? is there a howto?
i went out on that cursed ebike this afternoon, thinking, if i am careful and keep my speed low i'll have time to stop if something goes PING and i lose my brakes
barely 1km down the hill, on the most gentle path i can take, PING!
i had adjusted the brakes as much as i could, kept them down, and as it was, i literally had to turn sharply, with an oncoming car about 30m down the road, and roll up a bank, and i just threw that fucker off the bank into the blackberry vines, and i've thrown the stupid charger in my trashcan now too, pending to be put in the dumpster down the road
looking forward to getting my plain old simple 200 euro steel frame folder next week, when it should arrive
just hope that its brake feet are standard, and probably will buy several spare tubes and a couple actual steel wheels with spokes already tuned up, and need some spoke tuning tool as well because spokes be like that
i don't know what other ways i can find to improve my life at the moment, but if i can manage to safely go up and down the 300m altitude between me and my main suppliers independently and at worst have to replace a busted tube or brake foot on the way that's ok
but the feeling of when the last brake foot flies out on the road in front of you and you have to take evasive action to avoid another fucking tumble
and this is the other thing
i had a cheap scooter one time, electric, on similarly steep ground on the sides of the valley of Sarajevo
one time i went out on it, not long after i got it, and discovered that the regen brakes fail when the battery is too full, and had to take evasive action and it also had discs as well
mountains and bicycles are hard work, but disc brakes and regens make it harder
i was literally adjusting my disc (they were one side action, cable pull) every other time i went out, i mean, imagine a car where you had to do a service every second trip, it'd be a dead duck in the water nobody would buy it once people learned how high maintenance it was... like a fucking coke sniffing whore
that's ebikes for you
you just won't notice it until you move out to the hill country
it's summer time, double time!
may i suggest you discuss the idea of a pooling scheme and spending part of the pool on competent assessment of candidates so you get the best result
bounties are terrible by themselves, because only full bellies have that kind of runway to work with
and preppers to bitcoiners
oh yeah, that trip was long too... i mean, i must have trucked along ... 400km or so on foot, probably managing 30-40km/day most of the time
it convinced me that a human can probably walk 2000km if they have a big tub of lard and some biscuits and plenty of places to refill the water bladder
oh yeah i also learned that a tub of lard and picking stale bread from wherever i saw it was the best food, and the lard doubled as balm for my feets that got quite damp from such long walking every day... i pretty much was doing like 14h a day, with 10 minute rests here and there whenever i felt the need or it was hot and i needed time out from the sun
i forget how long, a bit over a week... and i discovered that skipping across train sleepers was easier than normal walking, and conveniently they had turned off most of the train services, until i got to Kurshumlija, which is close to the "border" with kosovo
and then i persuaded a conductor to give me a free ticket to travel to the border with Bulgaria, i forget the name of the stop
my observations about the difference between country people and city people was heavily influenced by that walk
confidence is based on sample proportion so if you test 50% you can be 99% certain of the rest being the same
so i'd guess that 37% you will 75% certain of the rest being the same
i dunno, they travel a lot in recent years... i was told by an old guy that it was bad in the 70s-90s and that's why a lot of people left, but he said it's better now, but now loads of people are coming back and land prices are going through the roof and the banks make this worse so there is a certain kind of dissatisfaction in general towards banks and tourism now, not the beautiful island itself
i could live here all my life if it was an independent nation
portugal and the EU make it shit
most of the interfaces don't expose the RNG or tell you what value was selected
do madeirans get island fever? like the feeling of being stuck on an island?
that's quite the walk! was this over several days?
@npub1de6…q0sd you were saying that you might want to do something in Spain, too. 🤔
We could have satellite Npub parties.
sundown over west, sunrise over east
honestly i didn't and don't have any real notion of the ability to navigate, i just have this memory of this amazing sight of sunset through ripply mountains and above a tall hill to my left came this yellow moon with a grinning loon face
i meant moonrise, also lol
Yeah, he's the source of my sense of humor. 😁
I saw some places that were quite inexpensive and fabulous, but they usually don't have a good train connection.
Train connection immediately doubles the price, but I think it's worth it. Otherwise, you would need a shuttle.
in case it wasn't clear, it was a full moon
i've been arguing for a broadcast vs narrowcast distinction in kinds for a while now... this would enable HD keychains instead of fixed npubs being also the nsec signers
some things need to be broadcast, some need to be sent to your outboxes, others need to be sent to your counterparty's common in/outbox, or ideally, to their personal relay
i don't accept peanuts for payment, sats only
i am nowhere near healed, in fact when i stand up i suddenly have this feeling of being disabled as i limp towards my kitchen
but my spirit is shining bright
all the #madeira nostriches who never bother to come to the cloudy north side are also missing something that their sun baked asses wouldn't comprehend
i gave up trying to persuade them, and they are only 50km away
i'd only add that based on the presence of a persistent louse, with the npub @npub1x0r…shtn who is openly hitler bootlicker that the lack of many kin of this asshat suggests that the alternative defenses this network have are more effective than banning
he got some wits this one
Yeah, if it costs €800/night, and you have 15 people and you buy the good and drink, then you're probably looking at €1500 in total, which would be €100/person, which high-quality stuff. Could probably get it down to €80 or so.
You're joking, but I just suggested to Hubby that he come along to the next one and we make a little "el cheapo" weekend vacation out of it, and he's like LOL
Is this a software project or a travel agency?
https://c.tenor.com/QmMiDHANnBUAAAAC/tenor.gif
no offense meant to alices... it's a pretty name
but who decided to feature them? where's the receipts? why should anyone trust this, and shouldn't they disclose the mechanism of selection?
ah yeah and i remember, there is people who have mastered the craft of making these kinds of sand-sedimentary rainbows, very often they sell their little vials of sand at the very places these things physically happened in the past and are left there
there is a place in australia called "rainbow beach"
https://fraser-tours.com/article/rainbow-beach-coloured-sands
yeah, i knew my memory didn't deceive me... indeed, these are literal layer cakes of non-calcium-laced sands that are STILL THERE and i am almost gonna bet money that these are the most clear examples of a long ago past global flood catastrophe, and these sands are made out of red and yellow and black grits from soils that were previously above the water and got washed back in, one mountain at a time, after such an epic disaster
they are mere sands!
imagine how much more "permanent" sandstones look
yeah, lol, whatever
then add clays to this, clays do this same shit too
what doesn't do this shit is granite, and you go look at the base of the canyons of central USA and oh ho hoh sure enough there is a granite base layer
granite is only formed from cooling lava, it is WAY harder and impermeable to even long term erosion by water and forms mainly from eruptions, not floods
that's why it's called #primal
yeah, i've been banging on about this concept of "privileged message" and the right of control of the parties that are referenced
i hope that eventually the rockstars will get it
Haha! Ok... gotcha. I was missing something. I was interpreting that as involving a referenced 3rd party who would be able to delete a message they didn't send or receive based on being referenced. Thanks sir
alice the asshat can of course store her own copy of her garbage if she wants to, for what it's worth
there is ample legal precedent for this also, why do you think they serve you legal documents in the hands of a witness who countersigns with you on a second document that you received it?
otherwise, it's hearsay, that's the legit legal definition of hearsay, he said, she said
i don't have to authenticate that i saw a message from alice the asshat, nor does i have to sign that i saw it, i can in fact, delete said event, unless judge judy has got a warrant signed that this document must be acknowledeged
not really
alice sends message to bob
bob dun want message from alice
bob delete message
the end
yeah, the long time theory doesn't match up with layer cake sedimentary rock, it's so obvious
we can watch this happen all day long on the beach, maybe these scientists need to have some more downtime
mud also behaves pretty crazy when it's in a colloidal solution too... but it deposits flat... and i've seen this happen over and over again just by doing dumbshit with pot plants (i mean potted plants, i swears)
I get what you're saying (within the scope of my dumbass capacity) but wouldn't it also be viewed as malicious by the sender to be having their stuff deleted? So the relay operator would have to choose whose trust to breach based on incomplete information since they wouldn't really have access to the messages themselves? I have to be missing something here, apologies for my ignorance 😅
for the whole night, after a full moon, as i walked southwest from Belgrade to Sofia in the middle of the supposed lockdown (was a remarkable number of black cars driving around at night earlier in the trip) after i witnessed the sunset over the mountains of western serbia, and the sunrise over the mountains on the bulgarian side, the moon changed to my eyes
it became this:
https://i.nostr.build/xEXPl.png
for a whole night as i trudged along on my journeys during the so-called weekend curfew (i think it was a sunday, so you can probably date it by that) i looked up at the sun, and i saw this grinning face shining down on me like a comical blessing from God
as i am reflecting upon this rather strange incident, i have come to the conclusion that this is the face of an Angel, who is one of the horde who are guiding me from their remote viewing facility up there somewhere
i am wearing pants with lap pockets, so the magnet goes in the lap pocket above it and the toroid field now exerts upon the region of the hurty parts
should be this face tho
https://i.nostr.build/xEXPl.png
and also, this is an easy way to flag malicious relays, when you can send a delete and then query for the deleted event and find it, that should be an offense, a breach of trust
and, also
inb4 "yeah but other relays don't necessarily delete them"
that is all good and well, but if my client respects nip-65 and i know as a user that all of my outbox relays respect this, then no, you are wrong
the sender, or whoever actually stored the giftwrap oneshot key, should also be able to delete them, but obviously clients don't store these oneshot keys unless they do, but i'm not aware of any significant motion in the whole client dev field towards enabling actual DM, just ask @npub10np…tl5h about the focus of client devs on DM handling
i think in the case of kind 4, 1059 and 1060 the right to do this is very clear
the sender is in the event "pubkey" field and the receiver is named in the event "p" tag
doubly so in the case of the 1059/1060 giftwrapped and other related types, especially the ones that nobody but the recipient can even recognise relates to them, the "giftwrap" key is a one shot throwaway, so it can't even be deleted by the event creator if they didn't store that secret
I was wondering about something like that a couple months ago... more thinking it would be great if there was a way to break or remove npub tags (or whether that would even be possible) ... I don't really think deleting an event that isn't yours should be possible, but it would be cool to be able to disassociate from various uses of your profile.
this also reminds me
you can bypass the requirement to make changes to NIP-1 at all for any new envelope type, it can be done with an event kind instead
delete already does this, so there is a simple mechanism to extend nostr API by using event kinds, could even be one "command" event kind that has a tag parameter set to designate the parameters
#nevent1q…pd7s
delete is an event, so if it's signed by the same pubkey, it should already be implemented on most relays
there should be a thing where on paid relays you can ask to have any private/privileged event that tags you deleted
mainly for DMs i guess
i don't see a malicious use case for being able to delete messages you don't want to read that are addressed to you, i'd like to hear some hypotheticals tho
i'm already working on code again
i guess i have to wait until i do some more dumbass shit to test the magnet-speeds-healing theory
my left knee got dinged pretty bad, maybe tonight it gets the flux
https://i.imgflip.com/8w62bc.jpg
Sir, this is a nostr, nobody tells you what you can say or controls who can read it
People keep announcing that they're going to stop using Nostr because they want to meet with real people in real life and touch 🌱 and it's like,
Sir, this is not Instagram.
We are real people. In real life. You can meet with us and we can touch the 🌱 together.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plan_9_from_Bell_Labs
he also at the time invented a language called Newsqueak (a language for mice) which the concurrency elements, the channels and coroutines, almost exactly landed in Golang, and was the main author of Acme and though it was 1992 before it hit official release, if you read up on it, it was definitely already being prototyped before HTML appeared (which is a derivative of SGML, which is also the root of Postscript, and goes back to the late 70s)
the real root, i would say, though, is not relaly Pike but Wurth, who invented Oberon, which is an integrated GUI and programming language that used modules (like Go packages) and a paning window environment... it was similar in some ways to Smalltalk, which led to Windows and MacOS, but different in that it was focused on programming and scripting
back in those days, i dreamed of running a full Oberon 2 environment, but sadly all i ever got was to read about it in obscure computer magazines
email first appeared in its early forms in the late 60s!
it didn't become common until the late 90s
and yeah, i remember the birth of hypertext... on my computer, back in 1989, the new Amiga OS 2 had this thing called "amigaguide" which was a form of hypertext document reader, and at my mother's university early versions of Mosaic (which was bought and became Explorer) appeared
in actual fact, the real real original birthplace of hypertext was the Plan 9 Acme editor, which started blurring the line between text editor, command shell and document reader... in Acme you could type in a command, highlight it, and middle click, i think it was, and then under this text would appear the output of the shell command invocation
and i'm pretty sure that the ideas of Acme still haven't fully percolated into UI design YET... and the main inventor of Acme was Rob Pike, one of the coauthors of Golang
i think it would have to be done as like a bitcoin HD wallet but the root key would function as identity, and only be used infrequently, and derived keys would be advertised as tied to the identity, and these can be rolled over regularly, and through the use of the keychain advertisment and you would have cross-client sync
the only other thing is that the replacement of such events would need to be slow, like, you advertise a new batch every X few hundred events signed with the advertised keysets, and then generate a new one, but the old one would need to be available, and several back to provide a sufficient window of coverage for old events
the other thing might require the author pubkey, the master identity, to be put on the events for the older events, whose age would mean that they are unlikely to need such careful checking as current ones
the hardest thing in this is the broadcasting
i've suggested this before, that certain kinds of events should be broadcast to all known relays, and relays should actively rebroadcast them, these keychain advertisment events, there could be other valid types of events for which such broadcast would make sense, and because there is no consensus, this broadcast would have to be gratuitous, as in, nodes would keep sending out newly advertised ones for a period of time until some time after they get no "already seen it" replies from other relays
this is something that is not in the nips at all, and partly because most of the people designing them don't have much experience or knowledge in the area of distributed systems and especially peer to peer systems
there has been a good, prudent avoidance of creating a consensus for the protocol, and i am entirely agreed with this, that we don't want a consensus, because consensus is a barrier to scalability, the data has to be best effort replication only, no strong consistency guarantee
but this doesn't mean we can't have some reliability on the side of critical event types like identities, these events make such imprevements in security and the ability to migrate data between clients without relying on explicit migration methods (backups) while at the same time not requiring a guarantee of broad replication (consensus) to be reliable enough that the rare times they miss nobody really minds...
besides, there can also be a specialisation of service that i call "archivist" - relays that just suck up every event they can find and store them for very long periods of time, monetised by subscription to access their rich vault of data
these are all concepts that are beyond what most of nostr protocol spec goes into, they are verging towards the kind of thing you see with bittorrent in the way that it scales and maintains a weak consistent global consensus capable of handling billions of active accounts
well, the forbidden fruit was likely a literal berry known in modern India as the Jamun Plum
https://askthegreengenie.com/tropical-plums/jamun-plum/
the losers of the War in Heaven scooted off in their boats round the continent of africa and landed in the middle east and set about establishing the cult of kings and enslaving the people of the middle east
there was two major catastrophe periods in the story, the first was the one that was recorded as the great flood, about 12800 years ago, and the stuff in the old testament and apocrypha about Enoch - he was trained for - idk, 70 years or more, and went out and taught the whole world and in The Book of Jasher it talks about how all the kings of men were studying with him, and he told them about the coming flood, and the world went to shit - Plato's Critias trails off at the point where he starts to describe the fall of Atlantis, that's when all the hybrid giant humans became common and Noah was one of the numerous people all over the world who were given instructions about how to survive, and part of the goal was to keep the good and discard the bad, but as it says in Enoch, one of the passengers of the Ark was a redhead nasty piece of work (remarkably similar to how Esau was also a hairy redhead)
anyway, in the various ways and places, people survived, and due to the utter destruction as the oceans boiled over and sloshed all over the land, only people who had crafted suitable boats or were located in places where the waves did not reach, most of the animals were lost, this was why the two of each kind thing - each kind has enough DNA to spawn a whole family of them given a few thousand years running around in different environments
the victorious of the atlanteans had to relocate because they knew that the region of northwest africa would be washed away, and they relocated to egypt - which i noticed on a lightning strike map is one of the few places on the planet that doesn't get much lightning, they built the sphinx and all those other things and yeah, between then and the catastrophe of the Tower of Babel, they mastered interstellar travel and surviving out in space and off they went
the bad guys stayed behind, and their DNA has slowly degraded to garbage and they continue all the rituals, this line of kings, but they are becoming retarded like we see with the current generations of the Bushes, the Bidens, the Clintons, Gates and all the rest of them
the atlanteans actively ensured that as little as possible was left that they could not fully recover their technology and knowledge, though probably a fair bit survived and is in the Vatican Library, but they are not allowed to use it, and through the various methods, the atlanteans are maintaining this limit on their power and as we come to this current age, the energy and so on that naturally increases in the region of our solar system due to the galactic magnetic oscillation, will recover some of their power and start shit, at which point the atlanteans will come down and finish the job
it literally says in Enoch that the Head of Days regretted not preventing one individual from getting on the Ark, but there was probably other evil mfs whose knowledge and genetics allowed them to resume their plundering of humanity
i'm not sure that i've got all the details right, but i'm quite certain that all of the old stories about angels and the Lord and all this are from these enlightened (and demonic) people of Atlantis and the time cycle that they give repeatedly all through the bible can be figured out to be a 6500 year or so, cycle, and that this cycle every time leads to a massive upheaval, and that the one coming up is going to completely sterilise this planet
make a Burnt Offering to the Lord and feast and be comforted
haha that reminds me of how it was in Bratislava at Wild Elephants in the old city
i went out on one, one time, and saw this awesome indy metal band playing in this area that was like a 17th century dungeon wine cellar, for real, was awesome, but man i got way way too drunk lol
Yeah, I think we're just gonna do that.
We could even use a grill. 🤔 Barbecue party.
there is a little cafe/bar near me called As Caboquinhas (the name of a tool for making fruit punch drinks) run by a dude and his two 20-something daughters, and their burgers are great and the vibe there is so family, almost a bit overwhelming for me as a stranger to be there when the big crowd shows up on sundays and such
such places exist in the world but mostly in rural areas
Or someone with chronic illness or disability.
They could probably make it to one quiet place and just chill there with us, but they wouldn't be able to join a pub crawl through the city.
If you have a home base, a group can do the pub crawl and the rest can keep chilling. 🤔
yeah, the burgers at Bitcoin Atlantis were so ho hum also... and made from veal steaks 🤢 - and we waited in a line that reached about 20m long to get them
would be so cool to be in a place where everyone is bitcoin and nostr and the food was made with actual love and didn't need to brag about it on the advertising, and the beef was from so close they could have walked the cows to the butcher to be slaughtered
oof
the end of this system can't come soon enough for me
And I didn't even think about the fact that someone might bring a dog or a baby, or something. A rented apartment or house is much better for that, than a restaurant.
my right shoulder is now recovered enough that i can comfortably type and shift from mouse to keyboard again already
i can't be certain without more tests but i think my grunty neodymium magnet sat right next to my shoulder all night last night may have helped, though probably so did the hamburger of yesterday afternoon, providing the raw materials to repair
definitely going to be 100% back in action by tuesday, but i want to already get back to work on my codec dangnabbit
Fr fr no cap. The service was so bad, everywhere, it became a running joke.
Maybe I'm overly-critical, but we paid a bunch of money, yesterday, and the frens where great, but the businesses were very underwhelming,
We lost contact with some people because we had no "central point", the waitress screamed at us for nothing, after serving us beer in the bottle, the waiter threw us out into an actual storm, none of the other businesses actually wanted us around, and we were left wandering around in the rain, asking if they have room at the inn. 😂
Nostr. The Christmas Story.
https://i.nostr.build/WGQve.jpg
takes about 4 days to make 5 characters like my npub
each additional character is probably 100x as long, for example you can mine a 3 character string in about 5 minutes maybe, 4 character in a few hours
the thing is that the pubkey is a hella amount of calculation to check for a pattern on top of the secret... i'm not sure if there is some way to fragment them, like, to use the EC group but make it a dual key split out of two keys, and then how do you compute a signature from that? is it going to use the root key raw bytes with the secondary key raw bytes?
i have not looked into how one can do this, the general idea would be that based on a master pubkey, anyone can compute a valid child subkey, and so on, this would make it possible for someone to send you a message to a key you have the secret for without it having ever been used before and without needing an interactive protocol to generate it
if i remember correctly, the secp256k1 group has an interesting property that if i have a secret somewhere in a chain of HD keys, it is much cheaper for me to reverse the derivation of at least the first upstream key, and then once you have that you can eventually get the root
so even if it is theoretically possible, non-interactive derivative key generation could have some serious security pitfalls on the path
Also, I know how to make actual good hamburgers and fajitas and stuff. The three of us know how to prepare food and we wouldn't have to wait until the lazy waitress deigns to take our order.
And so much cheaper. 😂 They be like €5 for a beer. 🙈
if cain would have served it, it's not food ;)
actually, that happened in weeks, it's sedimentary rock layers that formed during the Great Flood
how else could they be so flat
in actual fact they could be as fresh as 6500 years
and the erosion happened mostly around the same time too, that carved this sliver out as the waters drained back out to the sea
My husband said it's a #NostrStammtisch.
I suspect the reason is that @npub1ye5…knpr is just on vacation and hasn't implement it, yet. He already made an article viewer for the wiki pages, so it probably wouldn't be much work.
it was a horticulture training facility in the middle of the capital city of Atlantis
their policy was non-interference, and did not go out conquering and enslaving the rest of the human race, just being friends and sometimes giving warnings about disasters their astro/geophysicists were predicting
a group of them wanted to go out and turn humans into slaves, and there was a big war, and then they ran away and started enslaving the people of the middle east, and spread out across the planet building pyramids everywhere and demanding human sacrifice and especially killing babies, ceremonial whoring, and other much worse things than even these
also, i am just doing it, and i have had some pretty awesome results on my own driven work, fastest nostr JSON encoder that exists, for #golang at least
but i have to dedicate the majority of my time to projects i'm paid for... next coming up starting on tuesday once my dings are healed up is an aggregator for nostr and bluesky and then after that probably fixing the bad bugs in replicatr that take over 24 hours to manifest and make it unfit for production
I'm sorry that I missed the end. I'll stay overnight, next time.
You have to come to the next one! I think we're moving west, toward Köln.
Maybe in the fall?
Would be fun to integrate links like that into a wiki page including the relevant 30041.
honestly, after 3 chapters of Genesis i'm wondering how anyone reads it and doesn't get it that God and The Lord God are not the same entity and how the Serpent isn't near equal in influence and power as The Lord God in the world where Eden is (which is to the East) and it literally names Ethiopia as being nearby! and 3 other places that are known to be further northeast in the middle east/red sea area
first: it's history
second: adam was "picked up out of the dust" not created from it, must have been an especially intelligent and curious individual among the hunter gatherers living in the northeast of africa
third: even was probably a volunteer from the nearby area
fourth: it's absolutely mindblowing how much deceptive gambits i read described in the first book of the bible and its auxilliary versions, eg isaac, jacob and esau... and the whole play of "she's my sister" that is played out three times, twice by abraham and once by jacob
also, clearly satan was a physical dude, as was all the other angels, for why else would they enjoy to eat bbq

Event tag refs work like a Blockchain... Causality is proven by the asymmetric knowledge of the event id hash
Best I can do is Denver.jpg
3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
The ground from whence he was taken
Ie, sent back to his homeland
Cherubim are basically soldiers, like the famous one Michael
None of this text makes sense without the context of an advanced technological civilisation with science.
So, Eden was east of the centre of the capital city... Atlantis, we can guess, and the gate to Eden, "in the east" is as opposed to Ethiopia which is also mentioned, meaning Eden is west of Ethiopia.
Re.1 yes, that would be what I'd have to do to implement it in the proxy. That or do req/response to the backend (might actually be faster).
I'm trying to understand why the timeline refs though in the first place. It being so loose, would not really add much to "things being out of context" in a potential fork (because other events could still be mixed into the timeline and be indistinguishable from the original) When I start thinking about why it would be needed I can't come up with a scenario where this loose coupling is any better than just the created_at timestamps. Seems like it adds complexity that could be avoided. Relays can just have a small time window of 5-10 min. Overall, it seems like it is a fun experiment to have these references but with little benefit as it cannot be a true chain of events (where every event references the previous like a blockchain would), so I just want to point this out.
Aside from the un-necessary complexity it could be seen as a 'western version' of air replies. By referencing previous events, this could be seen as a reply (and treated as such by a client), therefore breaking the Japan social contract of air replying. It is rude to reference the previous events if it is seen as the expectation of a response.
If the timeline is optional (could vs. should), then I have no problem with it. As currently written it sounds like a requirement.
As for the rest, it does seem like 29 could be a useful pattern to get off the main kind 1 tracks and have a standard way of moderation/invites/group management.
Absolutely not to be worshiped. And I do wonder if the whole plan since the great flood is literally to do ark v 2.0 sans Redbeard ... I forget, shem?
Yeah, reading just the next paragraphs, first Adam got livestock and then he was given a lady friend "help meet" and immediately "the serpent" is persuading the gullible lady to misinterpret the rule about the jamun berry, I mean fruit of knowledge, being that women are naturally indirect in communication they are easier to deceive. I'm sure shiny flashy boy Satan is well versed in human cognition and gender cognition differences.
Why did this not lead immediately to Satan's execution?
Maybe because tricky boi was nearly an equal to LORD God
But absolutely untrustworthy.
And demanding human sacrifice.
Genesis (first book of Moses) KJV from project Gutenberg
1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth
This is followed afterwards, after the Seventh Day by this:
2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
See how chapter 1 is God, and chapter 2 is LORD God
Eden is eastward of where?
The centre of the city, perhaps
And thus this breathing of life... A similar .expression appears in other places and relates to inspiration and teaching.
There was people before this one.
Adam was invited to the garden, and had to undergo training to be allowed.
Jasher and Jubilees are both quite clear this was a gift of education. Adam and Eve were taught farming. 7 years they were training to garden and farm. The offense of eating from the Tree did not immediately lead to expulsion but their work was thereafter not so easy. I.E. no more free food, eat your produce or starve, thieves.
Anyhow, continuing.
Am childless 🤷♀️ would you take a hot friend?
Nein, give me your daughter for wife
Just read, just the book of Genesis. With this thought in mind.
Most of the appearances appear concrete but some seem paranormal by the descriptions.
And by persons I mean The Lord and His Angels... Dozens of appearances in dreams especially, one or two apparitions like Moses and the bush.
And if these holy creatures are physical then how do all of these things remain consistent without direct mental projection and occasional teleportation.
It's really worth a read to think it through.
Now that I have read all of Jubilees and half of Jasher I should first read all Genesis, before continuing.
It will only take me the afternoon.
Nooo idea. You shouldn’t have ? 😂😂😂
Y did I get tagged on dis?
Consistency is a big problem, events do not broadcast
Main npub could sign for valid derived keys and invalidated ones via an event?
why is telepathy, remote viewing, always mentioned with aliens
yes but how do you maintain identity???
in the future, humans discover they already have within them the ability to reprogram their DNA to adapt quickly, to heal, and to do such "magical" things as teleportation, appearing different to what they are, and telepathy, the end
also, thematically it is virtually the identical story as cain and abel and their offerings to the lord, and the chip on his shoulder that cain gets out of it that leads him to murder his brother
and interesting differences
jacob is a herder, abel was a herder
esau was a hunter, cain was a gardener
something tells me that there's more to this than meets the eye, and the common factor of being an animal husband is central to it
all of the animals that are "kosher" or "halal" are domesticated, i think that's part of it
i can't help but notice as i am surrounded by people raising sheep, goats and cows, mostly in very small lots, the cows usually just one poor lil boi by himself all lonely, and they stare at you, like, they clearly want you to come up and say hello, the sheep do it, the goats do it, and the cows do it
the chooks, funny enough, are the same, the number of times i've had them all scamper towards the corner of the enclosure if i decide to alight there and stay for a bit and say hello, they all think i'm good to be around, and usually they have never seen me before
these animals, that are good for us to eat LIKE us
honestly, if dad can't hear the difference, i suspect the account is wrong
i don't think any of the versions are correct precisely
the consequences of this supposed "stealing of blessing" are enormous, the entire rest of these two, Jacob and Esau's lives, are changed by this event, and yet it is very clear that the critical details, the origin story, are incomplete
but how do you prove that the identity is the source of the new key?
attestations i suppose, but then you start to get into the never-ending problem of inconsistency
i've not really achieved anything apart from a lot of nonsense... see my profile:
not artificially retarded - pure natural stupid
also currently recovering from a really stupid accident caused by me trying to roll down a way too steep, rough concrete road near my place that i knew was hella dangerous, on a bike missing half its brakes, and the other half not adjusted adequately
currently my shoulder is all outta whack
idk, just want to say that talking to me you will regret it lol
word on the street is the metallics are better
yeah, this is all in line with what Ben from Suspicious Observers says, about how every 6400 years there is a massive catastrophe, and some are worse than others
i sit each day with the view of a massive 1200m tall mountain beside me, and i have traveled around a bit in the local area and seen how fast it appears that the collapse is actually occurring
it seems impossible to me after what i see, that the current landscape looked at all like this even just 1000 years ago, it is really clear that the stone (mostly basalt) here has decayed and crumbled into the valley and that it is entirely possible that this entire island has only in fact been here maybe 6400 years and it was formed during the last disaster
which is leading me to think some more
why does it say in genesis about the ages of the people being so great, i mean, enoch, methuselah, even adam lived over 600 years, how can this reckoning match up with what we see today with lifespans under 100 years
however, if the Lord and the Satan and all the Angels were in fact these type of human that have long since been on vacation colonising other places in the galaxy, and their genetics were that different, this steady loss of longevity actually makes sense
anyhow, continuing, i'm not hating what i'm watching here at all, it's just adding more details to teh picture i've been building up
ok, the stuff about the rapid formation of the rock layers that became the canyons of north america, are actually perfectly science
i was hoping i'd hear something to the effect of "the oceans boiled over and flooded onto the earth" and sure enough this scientist says so
i'm still quite sure the great flood was 12800 years ago, and 6400 years ago was the events of the colapse of the tower of Babel and the fire burning sodom and gomorrah
there is other evidence surrounding these other events
in The Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya they posit the theory it was meteors but that actually doesn't really make sense and is very unlikely
much more likely is that something caused the ocean to get punted over the sea... a pole shift, and epic geomagnetic disaster and seismic and volcanic activity and extreme cloud formation due to earth lacking its normal level of magnetic shielding
i literally have been thinking about how i should sit and watch some video while my shoulder is so bunged up it's hard to type (have to carefully lift my arm gently to keyboard position)
i just confirmed as i suspected, that the trickery in mother rebecca encouraging jacob to deceive Isaac by bringing him a goat bbq dinner - in the Jasher version he doesn't wear any funny leather, he just says he's esau! still a lie tho
but i'm wondering if in fact the real story was simply that Isacc was so far towards losing his mind he just didn't remember or listen properly, probably half deaf, blind and poor memory all in one
because the rest of the whole story seems to be about esau's certainty that jacob "stole the blessing" and this led to bad luck somehow
in Jasher the story continues further and it is very clear that Jacob is not the kind of person who would engage in fraud knowingly, the way he defeats Esau's anger with kindness and generosity just doesn't seem like trickiness, and not only that, in Jasher it repeatedly says that Esau was a hairy redhead, and was tricky and conniving!
i forget which of Noah's sons was tricky and conniving but in Enoch he is also a redhead, and quite hairy
also, nothing to do with CO2 levels, these tall white skinned blonde/red haired humans with big heads (and brains, i assume) simply mastered science well before Adam and both genetics and medicine meant they were able to live for ~1200 years
yes, Rebecca, the mother, says to go bring two goats and prepare them to make the offering (bbq) before Esau returns from the hunt
Jacob just straight up lies and says "i am esau" when dad asks who it is and he eats and is happy and does the blessing
just a small detail, still a deception, and interesting the difference
nah that is just so they can record you doing it and use it to control you, it's just as life extending as pork
I also am remiss to mention.. in the Bible and Genesis the "stealing of blessings"
In jubilees and in genesis it says the mother tells to wear Jacob to wear scraps of leather to trick Isaac
According to Jasher she only says to get goats to substitute for the venison, the story in it is very short.
Kinda seems like maybe in these other versions simply the delusion of esau the red hairy hunter boy is what ended up in the text
I might have to double check if I remembered that correctly, but I distinctly recall nothing about the fuzzy leather trick
And also to refresh myself about who is the mother and her history
It's not a weapon, it's a war instrument
And the book of jasher keeps delivering more
Laban, the father of Rachel and Leah, who tricks Jacob into a second 7 year of service by pretending to give Rachel but then giving Leah, because of custom, has a set of "images" - "and some make them in the figures of men, of gold and silver" and these images were imbued with the power of clairvoyance
It does not say they were graven, and the thing I get from this is they were icons
Rachel steals them from Laban so that Jacob can escape without Laban knowing to where...
"images" is the words in the text, not idols.
ah... and also what happens during the disaster cycle, increased cloud cover, due to a way above normal amount of electrons in the atmosphere
i think that catastrophe does mean a star winking out though, or at least, most likely a nova, where it is suddenly bright and then dark
And then later, Esau sends his son eliphaz to kill and rob Jacob but Jacob persuades them to not kill him, and gives everything to them
Jasher is way way way more detailed than Jubilees which is in turn way more detailed than Genesis
I am also even more convinced that the Lord and Satan are both human but with extraordinary knowledge and longevity, repeatedly talks about them, and angels concealing themselves to not be noticed, and bringing messages, and the whole Isaac sacrifice was a test of how much the Lord was true to His word and the enemy Satan was a trickster and sought to sow disorder.
Anyhow, point being that if you had someone over and over again tell you the truth about things that no ordinary person could know, who could not be tricked and sometimes shows up in a spaceship I think I'd be obedient too.
Reminds me, I had a dream this morning that an old girlfriend, the woman I wanted to owed, was visiting and then all these other women with her, like a cover of witches, and I'm like, she just returned to taunt me...
Was very vivid... Last before I was unable to return to sleep after my disaster yesterday...
Noote that in Enoch, one of Noah's descendants was also a ginger and the angels expressed regret at letting him on the Ark
And then it goes on to relate how this Esau was a tricky bastard and a hunter, while his twin Jacob was a shepherd
Esau, son of Isaac, son of Abraham was a ginger https://i.nostr.build/lLExM.jpg
Definitely a good opportunity to do something different... I needed a shower though... Just took it more easy than normal... Have to be more slow and careful to avoid pain.
Also as soon as this clears up I so gotta clean the house... The leaking knee also dropped on my bed sheets too, mut there's no way I can change them right now.
Well, back to the 📖
I can't tie my hair up atm... Shoulder hurts too much...
I've opened the shutters to let the light in and I am spending today reading The Book of Jasher.
It's up to the part about Sodom and Gomorrah. It's pretty brutal... But it's not just hordes operverts, they have all these weird xenophobic rules about not feeding and housing strangers.

I'm not much chop for walking, either, left knee fot a good ding...
But it breaks my routine, no more espresso and code and shitposting for a while...
Top note is event kind 1621, also known as "Issues".
It's on GitWorkshop. Your app doesn't show those notes?
Weird, I can see the beginning of this thread.
Is someone posting to a relay I’m not subscribed to ?
Nostrich approaching Munich.

I think that's a call to touch grass.
If you get your events compatible with the "Git Stuff" NIP, we can read them.
@npub1wqf…qsyn found another one.
Also, 6-12 months ago, it was still a bunch of scriptkiddie stuff. We're now working on stuff like distributed file systems, browsers, source control, IDEs, encryption libraries, publishing, machine learning, data modeling, and operating systems.
And we're trying to produce professional quality.
It's a totally different landscape, now.
I meant, our team is growing, at @npub1s3h…75wz . Just added another scientist, yesterday, to work on our models.
I meant, our team is growing, at @npub1s3h…75wz . Just added another scientist, yesterday, to work on our models.
I'm not the one upset, here.
oof i definitely can't type for at least a few days, ouch
You don't follow us, so you don't see us, so you claim we aren't even there. Okay.
Also, we're building more complex things, now, not just throwing up the upteenth social media client with Kind 01 notes. The development used to be much easier, so more developers could engage in it.
We're building enterprise systems, now.
By definition, yes, as the majority could then vote.
Nostr bot libraries. Sorta creepy, sorta cool.
https://github.com/slaninas/nostr-bot
Yeah, I don't think women should vote. I think voting should be a peaceful proxy for war and women shouldn't be warring.
But I'm not going to stop voting, while the others still do.
An increasing number of Western women don't effectively have this choice. They grow up fatherless and there's no husband in sight. The arms of the state, such as the police, are often the men they primarily interact with.
I used to say that they should all just get married because it didn't occur to me how improbable that has become. I can't "feel" the scarcity.
Seemingly unrelated topics mix into our decision-making, as well.
A lot of the married women I personally know aren't using effective forms of birth control, don't like abortion, and haven't slept with large numbers of men, so they feel more existential angst concerning immigration and overall crime.
Married women are also more likely to have at least one son or nephew, so we care about "male" issues for a longer time.
LOL you saw me. 😂
At any rate, I'm so different from other women that I actually need many more male protectors than they do, so I'm physically more timid.
We're not more selfish. We're more solipsistic because we're more vulnerable. It's not fair to us, to phrase it like a design flaw.
interesting fact that two words for bad events have the latin word for star in them
disaster (bad star)
catastrophe (probably literally means a star blowing up)
i will be on enforced break with this dinged up right arm for a bit but there's relatively more simple tasks lined up that i'll be starting next week, easy stuff, just aggregator code, need to learn how bluesky encodes its shit and where to vacuum its data from and how
and i'll be continuing to work on my rewrite of the nostr codecs, there's only like 5 more envelopes to do and a few other pieces and it will be ready to put to use
yeah i wish i could have a pair of them living with me but no cats here and i wouldn't want them anyway, literally two squashed kitties on a corner down the hill from me, kitten and looked like mama, and every few weeks i see flattened pigeons and blackbirds on the road near me... it's out in the country but up the long winding path there is like 6 more construction sites and constantly big trucks roaring past
I love the highlight NIP. It was a stroke of genius. Nearly knocked me over, once I saw it because of the wider implications.
We're working on our project vision and mission statement and I've coined our strategy as the Tribune Strategy and it's so like us because we think about the Romans every day.
I feel like that, sometimes, and then something will suddenly inspire me and I'm hacking like a crazy person. 😅
hah, i did that just before getting to Maribor some years back
those train tracks are hell on bicycles if you don't hit them straight on, a little at an angle and they suck your tires in
to be honest right at the moment i'm feeling like i am gonna have trouble resuming forward motion
i've got things i can do but i need to have the confidence that carries over to satisfying those who pay that i can do something valuable
in the last month i've probably done more effective progress than i did in the 5 previous to that, mainly because i was focused on actually making sure every part works before moving to more abstract things
Yup. Drowning in technical debt.
yeah, my right arm is not in the best state... it took the first part of the ground impact i think, all the muscles in the shoulder and upper arm are really sore, right hand has two nice fat dings out of the palm heel, not deep but i'll guess they are gonna look pretty colourful tomorrow morning
yeah little putsi... the signs were there... sometimes suddenly he'd come bolting into the lab and jump up on the desk and hide behind the computers
there was a very mean big boy cat outside who terrorised him, he probably literally ran away to get away from that tom cat
yeah, you make bad decisions when pressure is high
get really fast to one point and then have bugs that just don't wanna show themselves and resolve, even after a full month trying to find them
makes me damn near suicidal depressed
Some have written about the successes of asymmetrical warfare. I think of this as asymmetrical development.
I sometimes feel like we must be sorta crazy, to even try to compete with the projects with full-time developers and 6 or even 7-figure budgets.
Surreal.
An Asus EEE PC seashell that would implode, if I started running docker on it. 😂
Like I said, we're focusing on building things for people who need to concentrate on important information. Reading of long texts, code reviews, project management, publishing of academic articles, homeschooling and Bible study, children's literature, etc.
Our apps are going to be elegant, reliable, sleek, and efficient and I promise to test everything on my crappy, old, hardware.
(Not that I have much choice. 😂)
Looks like you're relay didn't write. I have a check for that and one redo.
Is this the repo you're pulling from?
https://github.com/SilberWitch/eBookUtility
feeling a bit better after some rest, but maybe i am being optimistic about me being back to normal in 2 days, probably gonna be more like a week
gonna take this time to rest my mind as well
that's how i came to feel so wary of the government in the first place
what i have learned since then is in some places, it is way way less intrusive
1. Relays can ignore it (my implementation currently does ignore it, which is wrong, and I think it's a client choice to include the references, if the client doesn't include anything the relay should just accept it), but I don't think it's hard, you can keep the past x message ids in memory and check against that, no?
2. I agree, but I also don't think most people expect anything super secure when they see the word "private". That's probably the expectation of just a few nerds. I think clients can use different wording though.
3. That's easy to do, we already have a kind that is a request to join, we can just shove a secret into that. But, again, public groups where anyone can join do exist on Telegram and have huge adoption. I was thinking that relays could do some basic filtering of who is entering -- like checking if they have some WoT ties to other people that are in the group, for example.
i made a thing for on my fridge

gonna try and remember this one, it's a good one
the hiding and running of blackbirds is the thing about them that i find most sympatico

ok, just had a nice tumble on a steep concrete road
still leaking a bit, really need to damn well lay down lol
neighbours stealing kitties is a thing
we had this gorgeous almost green eyed russian kitten boy for a while, and then he had a serious accident, maybe fell on some broken glass or got bit by a big dog, and then some weeks later disappeared, but we were pretty sure he ended up about 5 doors down some neighbour took him
but part of the story was, we think that his daddy prowled the area where we were (well, duh, that's how he got born from our housecat) and he just didn't want to live around there anymore
russian blue cats are extremely aggressive and bold
makes them lots of fun but not for their kitten boys
i'm not a fan of nostr orange man guy, he's a dick
what was most instructive about today's misadventures was a reminder of just how much of a phobia i have against authority in this system of these days
it was way worse in australia
here in rural madeira i'm darting away from shadows, literally been here 8 months and literally not had one cop once ask me for dokument
they don't care
the neighbours think i'm funny and harmless and like how i prefer the local vendors, and several of them have started big long conversations about my bicycle and other unusual things i'm carrying around
everything is cool here but i still cannot trust it
tomorrow it could be gestapo, and i am not gonna get caught out in that shit again
was able to plug it in suspend, yay
btw, yes it's a pci-e 1x card, with two usb-c sockets... reminds me, it has a power socket from sata to run the 20W charger thing with it
the imagery described about the south american god Quetzlcoatl is very resemblant to what is described in the bible and apocrypha:
https://study.com/academy/lesson/quetzalcoatl-legend-lesson-quiz.html#:~:text=Quetzalcoatl%20was%20an%20Aztec%20and,quetzal%20bird%20and%20a%20serpent.
Is Quetzalcoatl a dragon?
Quetzalcoatl is part bird, part serpent, as evident by his name, which means Feathered Serpent in the Aztec's Nahuatl language. He was often represented as a snake-like being with feathers, along with a conical hat, conch shell, shell jewelry, and a duck-billed face mask.
very flashy, very proud, very flamboyant, all rainbows and sparkles and winks and charm
see how they describe him as at once serpent, bird and dragon...
Yes, it is true that God made Satan. That doesn't make him part of God's consciousness. It makes him a rebellious creature. They are not friends and God doesn't get bored. God does put a limit on the mayhem Satan can cause and only allows bad things that lead to God's desired outcome.
Satan is an angel, the most wonderful angel, who was corrupted by pride and wanted to take the place of God. Even though he is a being created by the God he foolishly thinks he can thwart and replace.
"12How you have fallen from heaven,
O star of the morning, son of the dawn!
You have been cut down to the earth,
You who have weakened the nations!
13But you said in your heart,
‘I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God,
And I will sit on the mount of assembly
In the recesses of the north.
14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
15Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol,
To the recesses of the pit.
16Those who see you will gaze at you,
They will ponder over you, saying,
‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
Who shook kingdoms," Isaiah 14:12-16)
The first mention of Satan is in Genesis 3.
"Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” (Genesis 3:1)
We know the serpent was Satan because there are several verses, like this one, that equate the serpent with Satan.
"And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him." (Revelation 12:9)
Of course Satan does not look like the stereotypical picture of Satan. I recently leaned where the silly picture of Satan all in red with horns, a pitchfork, and cloven feet came from. In the Middle Ages, they knew that Satan's fall was caused by pride. To "keep away the devil", they made a comical effigy of Satan to mock him and his pride. Unfortunately future generations saw this effigy and thought it was a proper view of Satan and it persisted. In reality, Satan is a physically beautiful angelic being who has become corrupted morally.
"No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." 2 Corinthians 11:14)
I'm sorry, but this is all I have time for at the moment. Have a blessed day.

The Alexandria app for the exasperated and beleagured minority that can #NameTenBooks.
This is going to be version 1.0, focused on reading books, note collections, and other modular articles, but there is later going to be a writing/uploading section, and we will be supporting wiki pages and articles, as well. Anything long-form.
This is the app that #Biblestr will spin off from, based upon the subset of Bible book events.
And there will be much more and it's going to be awesome because we are all readers and we need a quiet place to read and to explore what to read next. Like walking through the library...
We at @npub1s3h…75wz are sharing that library with all of you. 🥰
i'd seen you appear here and there but then yesterday i read some of your posts
i am totally not working today
not that i ever work, all play me...
anyway, right hand has two nice dings on the palm heel that are gonna be a bit rough for a couple days
tbh, i'm kinda impressed thath i fell down on a steep concrete path and only have mostly superficial injuries and one bleeder on my knee (it's got a patch on it now)
btw, the reason i did it was some ninny nearly drove their car off the side of the road into a vinyard and there was all cops there and i was like total phobia ok i do stupid thing down stupid steep concrete road
lesson learned
no hamburger is worth concrete tumble
yeah i did

People who are all happy about having Nostr SuperApp Overlords are just the newest crop of Internet serfers.
no, was a drone
one that will soon be banned in the usa
seriously, biggest corporation in the world until very recently, does not obey the spooks
right, got it
put it this way
the ppl at the cafe where i had my bica, burger and beer were only vaguely aware that i just had a bad accident
it was kinda cool to not tell them, but i'm sure the server girl saw the dings in my palms
yeah, it was kinda cool, and kinda vindicating
i knew it was the wrong thing but didn't clamp the brakes soon enough and stop before it got out of my hands and i had to put my feet down
and then i did the tumble, and i'm kinda proud of the dings i put in all my pointy bits, but kinda embarrassed because i knew i would do this
i'm kinda proud tho, because i'll be totally back to normal in a couple adys because i actually tumbled well
just never gonna be so stupid as to do it again on a sketch bicycle with totally sketch brakes or on actual concrete
really, i'm good, just gonna not be useful for a couple days
odell knows the score
#nevent1q…6hu7
i'm waiting for a refund, hopefully comes before the rebound
I'm unemployed. Spent all day programming, instead of working.
i just had direct, first hand experience why you do not roll down a hill as steep as velho das ginjas on a bicycle
literally tumbled head over heels and have concrete scrapes on everything except my right shoulder (must be my systema training) and now i know what it feels like to tumble down a concrete slope covered in bumps rough enough that cars can actually go down and up it (i think it's about 30' by my eye estimation, maybe 35)
had my bica, and hamburgeur and one super bock preta and i can barely type but now i shall enforce a relaxation period during which i will not use computer
weird, i get zaps from many others all the time that i don't comprehend
I just explode on the ## and then pop off the first element for a title and trim.
I don't even look what's in-between.
You're like Hubby. Turns into a lobster in five minutes and I'm barely tanning. 😂
The challenge will be making sure we can see each others' books, so that we don't all upload the same ones.
We do have the entire Western canon as a target.
Yeah. Was just forced into coding something because the thought of hand-formatting 5 entire Bibles and the entire Western canon into Nostr events made me want to tear my hair out. 😂
I ain't doin that. Gotta automaten that.
Can't read the eBooks, anymore, either. 🤷♀️
Stuff on there comes and goes, nobody knows.
It can just stay put until I've got 10 Bitcoin and then spike to a €million. Just saying.
Last stack at €59k. Hope the next one is even lower.
i've lost track of what i'm doing
need hamburger
just checked, no new commits
ran git pull and nothing new and this is my git log:

* add backwards compatibility in the __construct() of relay for the $message argument which was used in version < 1.2.4
* fix WebsocketClient response (message) which returned an array instead of a string for the json_decode function
i found it but then i hit the vendor thing
some
privacy is essential
one of the things that all manipulators do to you is steal your privacy
i wonder how much personal space a human needs in an ideal world
He made the rules
He is a collector of goodness
after we finish our incarnation, we get to go again if he liked our performance
forever
where does God fit into this
i'll just qualify it with this:
hate towards evil is goodness
It has! I never appreciated how fucking inefficient everything is.
I can't even use some of the Nostr apps.
also, as far as stroking things and feeling a sense of awesome
i can't think of what such objects are in my lexicon
they all have disappointed me
it occurs to me that actually hate is a good thing
but only hate for evil

I'm actually going to get a new laptop, soon, as my husband is finally taking pity on me. 😅 I can then use my netbook for testing. Also great, because it's worst-case, from performance.
Okay, I've changed some stuff around and updated the directions. Go ahead and pull. Everything should appear, now, if you have composer setup on your machine.
i recommend you have some test environment to check your destructions work
a virtual machine is probably the cheapest way, but if you have a second computer that is retarded that's a good option also
been thinking about re-deploying my ol' lenovo laptop as a third screen and backup in case of power outage, plus also windows test rig
hell, might just get on that, today seems to be my day of receiving new things to make my hardware to adequate
Okay, just pushed that. Please pull the new version, everyone!
@npub1fjq…leku @npub1nf9…xa3x
it was bad when i was in my vibrant days and it's just got worse and worse and worse and i watch these numbskulls swallow this bullshit and my despising continues to escalate
super stoked today
just received a lil PCIe card that gives me 2 10Gbit USB-C sockets
tested, and my also fairly new USB-C NVMe adapter makes my former Tb drive that was my daily driver read at ~800Mb/s and write at around 550Mb/s
this morning also arrived a random amazon delivery of a 4Tb NVMe that i meant to replace my system drive and yes it's already in place and already synced over from my previous, so now i have fast USB and big fat system storage
should have done this ages ago, the prices have gone up nasty
yeah, otherwise i'll be too busy chasing my tail trying to stack sats and buying actual resources like goats and fenceposts
That's actually pretty cool! I get ngit notifications in Amethyst. I mean, it's obvious why, but it's still a novelty to have a more unified notifications system. https://i.nostr.build/M54Ga.jpg
yeah, they are literally destroying love
I have one, in the src folder. I'll move it up to the top.
wow, ok, love this explanation. hope this goes into the "Book of Nostr" someday
yes, you can probably assume php installed, point to directions for that for ubuntu/debian and the rest can go to hell, oh yeah, where we are
but then make a script with like
#/usr/bin/bash
things here
Install would probably be better, since it doesn't assume you have composer setup.
Oh dear.
Should I upload it or would an install script be better?
also
🤗
welcome to the lower parts of hell
obviously you need to add
!*.php
and several other things to it
i recommend allowlists
example:
https://github.com/mleku/nodl/blob/master/.gitignore
and now you are in gitignore hell
yeah, i love vendors folders
your gitignore blocked it from being uploaded
seriously, you need to work on your documentation howtoo thing

i dang broked it
were is createBook.php exactly? did i clone it?
also i be dumb for the phpee
wat now?
ok i have php and compos000r and all the shizl but what do i do to test this exactly?
i don't know this php stuff since literally 2003
i will have a look at it because you be coo
Just need to install php and composer, if you don't already have it, I think. Then just follow the directions in the readme.md.
It's possible that you'll also need to download the https://github.com/nostrver-se/nostr-php library, but I don't even know. I've never built something like this, before. Stuff like that is what I'm trying to figure out.
hah i knew you'd ask when i read it
ok, but what am i doing?
after the fun of import bullcrap taxes on parts for my a dece oasis ebike, i decided
i'm getting a simple 20" wheel thing
https://www.worten.pt/produtos/bicicleta-nilox-x0-20-preta-mrkean-8051122172474
same brand as the monitors i use, which are cheap and cheerful, 75hz, decent contrast ratio, i no complain
by the looks of the rig, it's all stan parts so i can get normal feets, normal brake cables, normal tires, normal wheels with normal fucking light steel rims (the rims it comes with are Al which is poopy but ok, cheap look at the price, cheap)
the most difficult part of this decision is that i will have to work about 2x harder to climb the hills
but the funnest part is that being able to use standard brake feet and wheels i can roll down the ridiculously steep short path down to the valley floor and not take the long route
and they are not thin, but not wide tires, the hwole thing is only 12kg, which is what a STEEL FRAME bike for me should weigh,
just a basic skeleton, and something that i know i will be able to transport internationally easily when it comes to it, and if not, lol, the price, bro
Can I get some alpha testers for my 30040/30041 uploader?
I catch a lot of errors, but I need more tests and it's probably sorta buggy.
ANYONE WITH A MARKDOWN FILE IN THE HOUSE?
Thanks in advance? 🤙

china weapons small and penetrating
that big shit is japan nonsense
well, that is some deep shizzle lol
haha the story is much more complicated than that
first of all, "hell" was actually the caldera of the volcano on Tenerife, the greeks called it Tartarus, and it was the ultimate punishment for a criminal in those days, to be tossed into that hot rock soup
"angels" were the most trained and educated of a civilisation that existed across northwest africa, in the regions we know now as mauritania and morocco, and they had some hard core mind tech stuff going on, i mean like telepathy and teleportation and shit
not only that, they had gravity sussed, and by about 8000 years ago they were able to leave the planet and search the outer spirals nearby in the region of Taurus where they have colonised many places
in the period between Adam and Abraham (12-6k years ago) they had a lot of business with us humans, and they are a different subspecies, like the differences of homo erectus and homo sapiens, well, these were something else, they were taller, had white skin, red/blonde hair, and loved bbq and milk
this is where all the "burnt offerings" stuff originated, it was the usual thing to offer up to esteemed guests like the Angels
mostly, in fact, the angels were only seen looking like hobos dressed in dirty clothes and looking messy, and saying strange things that turned out later to be true, like how to survive an impending disaster
now, getting to the subject, "satan" was the leader of a rebellion that the Greeks called the Titanomachy (war of the titans) and the hebrews and middle eastern contemporaries of the humans around the region of the middle east where Adam was born originally, called it the "war in heaven" - this was a civil war in this advanced civilisation where the majority had graduated to become angels, this 1/3rd faction wanted to treat other human species as cattle (sound familiar?) and this was forbidden and a whole big war erupted over this to drive them out
the scumbags, including their leader, Chronos, or Satan or Lucifer or whatever name, and his gang of liars, cannibals and perverts fled in a clockwise direction around the continent of africa and landed in the red sea and with their superior technology and science, pretended to be gods and enslaved all the poor brown people of the region, this started around 8000 years ago, and they taught the brown people beer, growing wheat and barley, and acclimatised them to being slaves and taxing their income and making them an unwitting fodder for their bloodthirsty cult of cannibalism and rape and torture, which they used to maintain their power
gradually these individuals were forced to breed a bit with the lower sapiens and erectus and over the last 8000 years their genetics have declined but it's no coincidence that all the power brokers of modern society are mostly white, and this they use now as a fale gambit to pretend that someone other than their white toxic fallen angel genetic heritage was causing all this violence and war and bullshit
there is probably a few almost purebloods among them left but the thing was about what happened 6500 years ago in the event that was recounted as the Tower of Babel and Sodom and Gomorrah - this was a similar time as we are coming up to now, where the earth's field is crossed by the rotation of the galactic field and our planet is subjected to extremely high levels of energy input from the sun and the galaxy and there is always a massive amount of people dying of floods, earthquakes, wars, starvation, floods, cold and volcanoes, to the point where even it happened long time ago, around 75000 years ago, where only 5000 humans even survived at all (this was before the pale skinned milk drinking north africans first appeared)
that's the best i can make of all the data i have found, and continue to gather, and the main thing is that the people who built the pyramids, most of them, and the sphinx, they left behind all these writings by their favourite guy Enoch whose texts survived despite being almost purged, surviving only in central africa, and are gradually being "unsealed" as per what John the Prophet relates in Revelation, the so-called "apocrypha" or hidden scriptures
anyhow, there's more where that came from just opening up the little bit that gives you the intro
me too, i'm so sick of this fiat world i am ready to go wherever i must to have spit roast and my own herd of sheep and flock of chickens, and my computer in a faraday cage under the ground where i go to work until the satellites fall out of the sky one day and then i'll start learning how to play this damn kaval
yes, the whole point of squeezing people is to make their life suck more and reduce their reproduction rate
because we are useless eaters to them, so every way they can thin us out they get a big hard one about
I miss having a backyard to burn stuff in like cardboard and things feels so good.
hah
yeah, hygiene is the hard one
but nothing that can't be solved with old school wood fire boiler tech and steam driven pumping
honestly, i am now of the opinion that most of the reasons why i have bad parasites these days is because of the food, which is not what i'd eat if i had no electric and cold logistics
hell, i look at the supermarket and i could probably carry out every item that is my definition of food in my 20L backpack, there is almost nothing for sale anymore that isn't poison or waste products being marketed as food
apparently there is a book of Satan. a friend told me it's not half bad. main thrust is "everyone makes mistakes and such".
Is it true that God made Satan, so Satan is part of God's consciousness? perhaps it's a whole other route for people to come to God.
If Satan is the smartest creature out there, it would seem natural that God would keep him close just because otherwise God could get bored. So it makes sense to me that they could be friends.
my preference overall is charcoal grilling
if it isn't cooked on charcoal i don't want to eat it, it's fine cold or room temperature
my personal ideal for food is precisely balkans style:
- charcoal grill
- fermented preserves stored in the basement, sauerkraut, turshiya salata
- some fresh, in season veg grown in my backyard, the majority ends up as winter salad preserves
- some of the meat is pasteurised in jars for winter when the fresh meat is thin or generally for maintaining a 1+ year surplus of food
i want to be already feeding how i will feed when there is no power and no internet and no international freight transport or refrigeration
i don't think we are going to get uninterrupted service over the next 20 years
zero electric life is OK, as long as you have a fresh waterfall in your backyard.
I spent 2 weeks without electricity in a community in Brazil. There was a waterfall in the woods behind the community (thankfully uphill and upstream). the whole community neighborhood naturally figured out times for men and women to go wash clothes and take showers.
without the electricity, i got better sleep. However as soon as the water stopped flowing into the sink from the gravity tanks (electric pump dependent), i had the thought "why am I living here".
i'm quite salty that my madeira residence doesn't have an outdoor spit... my neighbours have one, and there is one in this house but it's in the other part that i am not renting, and nobody uses
tbh, i prefer wood cooking, better for flavour of the food and not subject to any technological nonsense outage problems or supply
air replies only ftw
#nevent1q…wyzj
what is the mindset that comes up with such a thing?
my biggest problem with all of it is when the power goes out i'm not able to cook
cylinders of propane are more resilient (i'm not a fan of gas pipes everywhere either)
yes, i agree, but one has to pay the rent in the meantime
i have learned from my first big grant task that i need to do more of my own basic work, like now with this radical rewrite of the library focused on minimising memory allocation - still my main time spent coding is going to be on paid work but i'm dedicating other the rest of my time, more than before, on this kind of work because the decisions you make under the gun are often bad ones... the last month of my last grant job was all taken up chasing bugs that the worst still are not gone
i propose rhyme battles as a method to pick devs for grants
arr but you are from the land of eire
and the wordsmithery of there is fire
the complexity of the technology versus the efficiency gain is not worth it
i'm pretty sure catalytic electrolysis of water to hydrogen is more efficient, and easier and simpler and more reliably distributed
i have a 12" diameter pan
the induction heating only covers a ring around 8" of the pan
how am supposed to account for this in my cooking technique so i don't get undercooked food?
yes! ridiculous, only cook in 9" pan
now, go to your kitchen and look if you have a 9" pan
after that, go inspect your bbq and see if it can cope with a 12" steak
I'm a scholar, so wheres my fucking dollar?
poetry is literally where you use words as music
don't wait to learn, or you might lose it
#nevent1q…uue6
i just fucking hate induction cooking, so i'm very fond of the idea of having bbq
very big fan of bbq, as is our Lord who may show up one day and be hungreh
you're not a poet and maybe you might blow it
my certainty about whether our space brothers, born of common ancestors, will actually come back to save our asses is not 100%
but my certainty about needing to navigate a way to avoid the blatantly stupid people who are going to drag everyone around them into the abyss, is 100%
so i'm going to escalate my efforts to live without excessive dependencies, nay, to cut all dependencies on the stupids as much as possible
i have another 50 years or so, probably, and it's worth it for that
but if a lady catches me i'd like to be focused on ensuring she and our spawns don't either get caught in such dependencies and are mentally prepared for a zero electric life as might happen for a time in the future while everything is wild out there in our galaxy
brainwashing literally stops you from thinking
they are in a trance and it's sad to say it but when this brainwashing diminishes their ability to reason past a certain threshold you are going to always lose in any deal with them because they have been articially retarded
hmmm that's a snappy term... artificially retarded
the main defense against satan is to literally not do business with his servants
you have very obscure tastes and i don't know what the benefit of ocaml is
i homed in on golang early back in 2013 and then studied it intensively from 2016 and i just don't see the point in any ancient shit
a nostr friend of mine asked me whether i would work with C and i'm like, uh... c memory management and security is a nightmare
iirc ocaml is an interpreted language system that puts it in the same box as php and python and i'm not going there either
How am I trolling? I'm not calling you expletives or anything, and you're freaking out...
I'm responding to your argument and you immediately block me so what do you expect me to do...you know Nostr is a public network?
I agree with you they're all inferior to ZK you're the one that brought them up not me. Monero amount privacy is ZK.
If you're that upset about my mild pushback we don't have to continue this. My god. Stay in your safe space please.
and honestly, i'm of the opinion that this electronic tech should be shielded and grounded, always, and you all who don't get what that means are not going to have computers before the next 20 years pass
mobile devices are all gonna go blank one day, zero reception, everywhere, no hotspot, no mobile, no nothing
the bulk of undersea and underground - especially optic - cables are gonna keep working, and all the junction poitns and routers will be moved underground and shielded, and then, people are gonna realise
we can't do mobile radio for a while now
we are gonna be lucky if your electrical devices work at all, most household wiring is going to be fucked, fused randomly all over the shop
you won't be able to cook, heat, or cool or wash
this is going to lead to a radical change in how people think about energy use, and the dirty inconvenient diesel generator being on site versus 3km away
spoiler alert
better it's here, better it has mechanical junctions to your heating and cooling pump systems and washers, and better you design your houses to be passively efficient
but i'm sure your children will be into this
https://i.nostr.build/8G4mz.png
well, diesel is more resilient against EMP
literally the engine can be set up so it can't be disabled, only the electrical parts in the generator
diesel engines don't actually need condensors and batteries and starter motors
you can just have a crank, that's it, crank, and a few cycles of that and you get enough compression and the diesel burns by itself
it is the most beautiful technology, but hard to find it set up without that electricity dependency and hard to find it used to directly generate torque or pressure for fluid or rotational work only
IMO, using electricity as the universal intermediate for the transmission of force is a dumb idea when we are at a solar peak while the galactic magnetism is flipping through a vertical point and might actually cause our planet to physically spin
lol, should have used a commodore 64 more like
who the fuck even uses ocaml anyway
nazi asshats like @npub1x0r…shtn are one thing
but moneros take it to a new level by generating new nsec to respond after they probably observed i published their key on my mute list
i'm not afraid to do some actual logic and argument here, but i'm not doing it without the public watching on, i want them to know i'm capable of actual reason
#nevent1q…3yha
oh, so you change your npubs to troll
more advanced than the nazis, bravo
no, actually, coinjoin, mixer, ring signature, all are inferior to zero knowledge proofs, which are incredibly computationally expensive to validate, and make for a very compute heavy, expensive fee rate
security is a tradeoff
and you are being assinine by using a new npub to state the obvious
and abusive because i can't tell the client to ignore this thread
so i will just escalate, you want to make further counterpoints that don't actually contribute to the conversation, i will start sharing your bullshit openly with my following, and see if they have any comments
I didn't say "nobody uses bitcoin", but I see why you have to pretend that I did.
You're the one that said "everyone" can't use Monero. I'm telling you "everyone" can't use Bitcoin either.
Lol I find it hilarious when Bitcoiners claim everyone and their momma is using lightning (ridiculous, its so damn niche) even more when implied they're *actually* using it (not asking a custodian to do it for them)
You can say sender privacy of ring signatures are similar to Coinjoining and mixers (all are weaker obfuscation), but they definitely don't offer the strong amount and receiver privacy of Monero, so it's dishonest to pretend Monero only has ring signatures.
so, actually, the lead acid is better because it doesn't dissipate charge as fast
also, the bastards didn't make any fucking API stability guarantees and code i wrote 5 years ago can't be compiled against the latest versions
which is annoying as hell
and guess what
the lead dev on the project builds with macos
i see, well, i wasn't the first one to throw stones in this one, you criticised my choice of language and your choice of language meant a IMGUI that is less mature than the one that you could have had with my preferred language
so, we are square now
well, i'm not an expert in battery backup systems, and i'm of the opinion that any serious setup actually only uses them to stay up until the diesel generators (2+) kick in to maintain power because the whole density and safety problem is solved with diesel
so probably, my guess is, these days with a diesel genny and a small Li battery bank you got it sorted
i think the subject though is about people with solar/wind/battery based setups and not mains connected?
no, i looked back, it's just for coping with up to a day of bullshit from the mains provider
diesel generator is the main thing, the batteries are just there to keep it live until the generator gets to the needed voltage
personally i don't want to get that close to moscow
also a pompous sounding display name
my diagnosis is he is a masochist
but but but colorado better
@npub1xts…kk5s is using rust to bulid the android GUI and it sucks as hard to make it adequate as it sucks to make the swift app do zaps
yeah, seriously, 2 months of ebike and i'm done
it's not a world that anyone with a brain wants to live in
but brainwashing victims don't have access to their brains, it's been locked off by the brainwashing
but what is the premium for this cost?
and how hard is it to ensure that your installation ventilates any stray hydrogen sufficiently?
i remember an episode of Mr Robot where they rigged up a server battery farm to vent mass hydrogen and then use some other device to spark it but the actual reality is that hydrogen combustion is very fussy about air rations, very very tight range, tighter than octane engines use and way way tighter than the ratios of diesel
honestly, i think i should just make a trip to the other side of the island and buy the cheap 300 euro mountain bike with no electronics and a bunch of spare disc pads, discs and a spare chain, two tires and two tire tubes, and i'll be good for a year and get fit as fuck
I didn't say "nobody uses bitcoin", but I see why you have to pretend that I did.
You're the one that said "everyone" can't use Monero. I'm telling you "everyone" can't use Bitcoin either.
Lol I find it hilarious when Bitcoiners claim everyone and their momma is using lightning (ridiculous, its so damn niche) even more when implied they're *actually* using it (not asking a custodian to do it for them)
You can say sender privacy of ring signatures are similar to Coinjoining and mixers (all are weaker obfuscation), but they definitely don't offer the strong amount and receiver privacy of Monero, so it's dishonest to pretend Monero only has ring signatures.
yeah, that's why i've decided to ditch it because it didn't have regen brakes and i'm down to 20% of the front discs working in these absurdly steep hills of madeira
and yes i didn't mention the control screen either, that's another 80
i want to slap every fucking mac and ios user upside the head
apple is not a computer company
it's a marketing company, and it's main business is brainwashing
yet if biological woman takes steroids she's out
it's not paranoia if they are out to stop you (ie, they don't want open communication)
oh and the charge regulator was like 200
yeah, i'm pretty sure that for fixed installations lead acid batteries are still the best bang for the buck
lithium batteries are the biggest cost in most things they go into
i have an e-bike, the battery is 300 euros, the cost of the bike was 750
yeah, i think they have improved the tolerance for shallow cycle charging a lot in the last few years but it's still not ideal
if it's a fixed installation lead and sulphuric acid are still king on cost
this lithium stuff is just fashion and stupidity if it's not a vehicle
so your argument is that because "nobody" uses bitcoin (with it's 1 trillion market cap, ok)
sorry, your argument is dead in the water right there
bitcoin has already shifted most of the small transactions to lightning and the rest of that margin is going to ecash (chaumian ffs not ethereum you ahem)
lightning's network is not fully known
payments can fail because you pick a route where one hop doesn't know the next hop doesn't exist (this is a problem i hit up against with my work trying to build a replacement for tor that is based on lightning source routing protocol)
market is always right, and most people still pay for drugs with bitcoins, and there is this rabid, agitated asshole brigade called "moneros" who still believe against practical evidence that coinjoins and mixers are less than ring signatures
good luck with that
knight and rook versus king is basically stalemate in most cases
All these unlikely boogeyman hypotheticals cut both ways. Nowhere even close to "everyone" is using crypto much less Bitcoin. Everyone CANT use Bitcoin on-chain or even lightning for that matter! We see this every time mempool gets full.
Every node on Tor is directly connected, or has the potential to directly connect, with every other node. Lightning Network payment channels do not fully-connect. The entire network and the network topology is publicly known for routing nodes and natural incentives mean traffic consolidates to a few large nodes negating any remaining similarities to Tor. Tired old parroting of what amounts to affinity scamming.
Yea, an acolyte from "the market is always right" corner of crypto is telling darknet markets how wrong they are. The only place where transactions can be permissionless is increasingly using choosing Monero but keep screeching.
it requires the relay to have multiplexed sockets tho!
also, haha
hahah
hahaha
hahahahahah
laughs in fuck apple, fuck steve jobs, and fuck macintosh and fuck ios and fuck objective c and fuck swift
but also, yeah, hah... maybe time to consider making a NIP to make multiplexed sockets a thing?
then you can auth on one socket and all other requests are authed
it's a really gnarly little shit of a problem bypassing nip-07 and nip-42
and the pompous will shall have a down-dressing of his pride
you mean physically
also, i have know idea exactly but my mini pc and router probably use about 40W combined and the UPS is probably made to give a 200W server half an hour so i'd guess my UPS gives my mini pc and router about 4-5 hours runtime
and yeah, it would probably be like 5-8 standard heavy duty 12V car batteries or like 3 24V truck batteries and a voltage regulator
yes this is already implemented in replicatr but it only applies to the websocket that the DM is running on, any others opened by the client don't see the authentication
auth is per socket connection, once you disconnect, or open another one, you have to make another auth
it can literally drag on for like 20 moves before someone capitulates
knight and rook versus king is a long endgame
and it's still complicated
knight goes to beside the king, king can't take the knight but it can move towards the rook
then, rook moves to the left, and then we are in check, and teh king can't take the rook, but it can move to the white square to the left and knight can't do shit
you may need to study your chess more
yes but it is only checkmate if that is white's last piece
king is not in check unless he has to move
https://github.com/mleku/nodl
not much to really talk about exactly, but i just got done making the subscription ID parsing correct, there is now working and tested auth envelopes and count envelopes are still to be made, and no, reqs, ok, notice, etc, not done yet
will be done soon
i'm fussy about this and i'm not saying it's done until my random-generated data based tests say theys done
there's some actual rules about subscription IDs that you can find in nip-01 and the count nip, i forget its number, they have to be 1-64 characters long, and valid json, so that's a few criteria that i test on and throw errors if they don't line up, invalid json is just right out
really, one should not write subscription IDs that have any backslashes or nonprintable characters in them, unless you are a dirty nazi pervert, my code makes sure that even if you write such dumbass nazi code that it will be cleaned up for the public viewing
WIP image of the Alexandria client's article view. @npub1m3x…a5sf's code fetches a collection of kind:30041 notes indexed by a kind:30040 note and bundles them together into an article.
Each kind:30041 note is rendered as a subsection, as illustrated by the highlight on hover. A table of contents will allow users to jump between headings within the article. A bit down the road, we can add highlight and commend functionality on individual kind:30041 notes within an article.

i met a bosnian electronics tech who was able to mod standard socket and plug to make an OTG cable
idk if you have ever seen inside those bitches, man, this guy was a fucking leonardo
this is why kind 4 DMs are not as insecure as you might think
revealing the contents requires revealing your key, because the signature is not on the plaintext, it's on the encrypted text, so you decrypt it, you lose the authenticity, and thus, your credibility
it's hearsay
if you complicate things with further schemes like double ratchet, compromising one message is easy enough, but the other side has to see all the shit as well so they can compromise every message they receive
WITHOUT REVEALING THEIR SECRET KEY
so, actually, it's arguable what is better, if the threat model is betrayal
#nevent1q…2ka6
the replacement operation is not usually that expensive... i had a phone fixed in Budapest that got gunked or otherwise messed up (micro) for 20 euros
but it's avoidable and in the circumstances i was mostly not plugging it into a charger
the simple fact is that usb micro, and to a similar but maybe lesser extent, usb C is just fucking shit design, a bunch of wires embedded in some plastic, when much more robust and time proven is the old printed circuit board etched off regime, like the apple style
yeah, MLS lets you fine-grain that so that breaching one secret only breaches at most a few messages but the downside is ... well... MLS is centralized, actually, when you analyse it, there definitely is privileged parties who dictate the new seed and when it is distributed
i prefer the client side encryption and fuck the scaling problem, if you have a group over 20 members and want sub-second latency then your private group simply isn't private
haha, damn...
i've got usb-c dummy plugs coming in the mail soon... yeah i've had this problem with a few usb micros over the years and i hate it
the usb micro to usb C transition gave us nothing of value except reversible
the design of the apple plug was better, and my yubikeys, i have two, the usb C and usb A kind and the usb A kind has no serious risk of problems in this kind of way, and the size of usb A socket is such that such guff is easy to remove, and corrosion is unlikely to grow big enough to bridge the lines
this is what the eurocrats gave us - convenience - reversibility, but no actual increase in durability or utility, as with the apple style connector
it's insane, because literally, it just requires like 3 components in the plug side to switch off the power to one side or the other depending on where the ground contacts
she is such a genius writer and public figure, truly, it's hard not to admire her work and her ways
well, let's not talk about the dark sides of this routine then shall we 😉
no, it's open to abuse in several ways, just pick a good candidate against their portfolios and reputations and run it like a normal contract
yeah, payment at the end is not so bad, if you aren't competing
has to be a deadline also
basically this is what grants are... person is chosen, and some schedule of payment is dictated by the work flow, and a partial payment or stipend regime with like weekly or monthly means also the grantor can cancel and stop bleeding money for nothing
also: haha awesome, glad to be teaching how Diffie Hellman Key Exchange works
it's magic
btw this is part of how a Message Authentication Code (MAC) works, simple ones are a more simple form of one way function than an elliptic curve signature but a signature is also a MAC, as you has the message and that lets you validate the signature if you have the public key that did the signature (HMACs use this same thing but instead use a hash function, it's cheaper)
yes but they lose authenticity!
they at minimum are also exposing themselves to a plaintext derivation cryptanalysis attack also, if they don't actually reveal the secret on one side of it
the event has two pubkeys, the sender and receiver
the message is encrypted using one of those pubkeys, and the other is the secret of the other pubkey
elliptic curve diffie hellman means that:
my secret | your public == my public | your secret
thus, the message has "pubkey" as their pubkey, and they encrypted it using their secret and your pubkey, which is in the p tag
it's a bit of a mind blinder, but once you get it, you get it
Yeah I think bounties are worse than work-for-hire. It would be better for both parties IMHO if funded projects were put out as a work-for-hire contract, the contractor screened applicants and accepted just one, and paid out only if and when the work was completed to the spec that they specify up front.
With bounties you get multiple devs working, people complaining that they helped and didn't get any of the bounty, people not capable of the task elbowing out people who are, and the contractor has a lot of uncertainty around whether or not someone is working on it.
no
the signature is on the encrypted form
decrypting it requires the secret key of the receiver, who is tagged with the p tag
omg
yeah this is one of the features that Go adopts
implicitly all \n is in fact ;\n
except after comma
comma lets you break the line without breaking the statement
so, go is line structured like python but the actual whitespacing is not enforced, and under several conditions you can break lines... another one is operators, + - * | & || && / these can have a \n after them without breaking the statement
Told my hubby I was doing this with PHP because I love the arrays and the string manipulation and he was like, Too lazy to try writing it in Python, amiright?
Noooooo. Hello. Python has no semicolon at the end of each statement. That is just WRONG!
the arguments against the user-side encryption scheme are simply the bandwidth costs
for each additional user, each user has to send another message to broadcast to everyone
there is probably in-between ways of doing this but the ability to prove authenticity is lost as soon as you start key exchange processes that are ephemeral or otherwise not computable without knowing some ephemeral random secret value and catching that key in the message stream
i think that the natural path of private messaging groups is in opposition to the growth of the number of members in the group
once you pass the dunbar number it's impossible to do it properly as a client side encryption and this opens up being able to authenticate the message and decrypt it without compromising your actual secret key identity at the same time
i think that it's worth making the cost of proving a message authenticity by forcing the breach of your secret key
because then everyone can decript all of your messages as well, it's like a three way mexican standoff
@npub1m3x…a5sf I decided to skip the wiki step and go straight from a markdown file to the modular events.
we already had this discussion about how computers take everything literally, and all abstractions are still literal even if obfuscated
yes, there is two patterns of group messaging
one: you encrypt and send to a trusted central server (this is the IRC method) and they then encrypt it (usually via TLS) and send it to all the other clients - the encryption is just the connection, the raw data is all in the possession of the server operator
two: you encrypt each message you send to the group individually to each counterpart in the group... the cost in bandwidth expands linearly with the number of users, you also gain the ability to exclude group members from seeing your messages, and the others can't prove the authenticity of your messages to others without giving away their nsec
three: the MLS model, where the group uses a merkle tree style derivation scheme to generate a per-message key for each message that a central moderator can stop access of one user to it because they are the merkle root
four: to be invented
personally, i like two, because it lets me exclude people i don't want to read from reading my messages and everyone else can't out me without revealing their key and anything they say is hearsay otherwise
https://c.tenor.com/A45cGt6-WJUAAAAC/tenor.gif
I haven't used Laravel much, before. Just some Symfony classes and Doctrine.
lol
markup is not programming
Superior IDE, that LibreOffice.
PSA
actually proving someone told you something in a kind 4 DM requires you to make your nsec public
screenshots don't count
Hey, it's actually working. 😂
I'm in shock. Code is still a mess, but it does a thing.
agreed, there is no advantage
double ratchet and MLS are what lets you keep the cat in the bag outside of the key that is leaked
and yes, this is what @npub1zuu…c2uc has been doing with double ratchet and also now extending to MLS
simple kind 4 DMs require you to leak your secret to prove authenticity as well as leak the content
so do 1059 and 1060s
the double ratchet allows you to constrain that leak to one message, and MLS lets you do that with a multi party message
being able to constrain what can be leaked by providing the secret is another factor in this
if you want to out someone who sent you a DM, you have to give away your nsec, as well
double ratchet lets you avoid that problem, and ironically this is called forward secrecy with revocability because you can change that secret any time and not compromise your primary root key
MLS lets that happen to a whole group chat
there's also this problem:
#nevent1q…e9se
oh, actually, when the message is encrypted
the only way for a person to prove the event is authentic is to provide their secret key, which enables the actual decryption
proving the authorship of an encrypted message is useless except if you can decrypt it and also reveal the contents as well as the authenticity behind it
#nevent1q…xvyx
secret means only one person knows
private means two or more people know
once it becomes private, it is open to betrayal
and on nostr, those who are privy to a private message can prove the authorship because they can access the event and find the signature and prove it is authentic
but only the group would know it's not true if it wasn't, and could prove it
and the rest of the world can't know it's true, but you can't stop the user who makes the screenshot from inspecting their cache
yes, i get it now tho...
private is not secret
secret is only one person knows it
private is two or more
once it's private, it can become public, if one person betrays the pact
yes but the client still has those signed messages, and are you proposing DRM or closed source?
nope, then everything that is shared is potentially public
this is a simple fact of the game theory of communications and secrets
even then, you can't stop screenshots
just reinforces the maxim:
secret means only one person knows about it
once it's two people, it's only private, and private can be compromised, unless the other persons are deleted (pun intended)
everything that is private can become public
the only way you keep a secret is if the other person is dead
yeah, it's private if the relay is run by moderators and private as far as the moderaters control it but of course permitted users can broadcast events
that will probably be a ban-worthy offense though, and end further access, it's kinda rude thing to do really
on the other hand the way i had a dual listener relay set up with inbound from a reverse proxy and writing to it from the client as cache everything that my client was seeing was going to become visible without me enabling nip-42 and i hadn't written an actual ACL yet lol
my definition of humble:
you know you are top tier intelligence, but because you are paying attention, you catch yourself being stupid, and you aren't afraid to talk about those times, even, you might not delete them because it's a funny story to back up with dumbass pictures
#nevent1q…smdl
anyhow, i will see i guess, i figure the chances are of zero to minimal harm, but possible high benefits if i'm right about it deflecting ionising radiation a little, even if it only cuts back the exposure by like 10% that's still a lot because it's cumulative
yeah, it's really worth hunting around for good chopping boards, as i say, bamboo is very robust, even still you gotta be careful to not let it get soggy, even just sitting on one end will start a split
they are just high maintenenance bitches, and the ultimate care regime is that you can hang them in open air easily, so the main thing you need is a hook and some wide space for it to hang from
haha, it is very clear that Robert Anton Wilson and Aleister Crowley's writings were at one time in gigi's readings
how does that work? surely it's all on the client to put the right context tagging?
when it takes longer to say the song name than the song plays for
#nevent1q…8wsh
even better:
https://youtu.be/2sDHPF61CWk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w__wUYxMjYE
i just think that a strong magnetic field is going to block radiation, that's the main reason i got it, not like tinfoil block but reduce the amount that gets into the toroid space around it
and yes, it has a toroidal field, there is a gap in the centre of it, you can tell when you move keys near it, they are pulled towards the centre of each side of the cylinder
composite chopping boards ... only ok if it's made from bamboo, most kinds of wood just takes one time letting it stay damp overnight and before you know it, it's warping and splitting
ginger, mint and elderberry? not sure i think there's one more thing in there
mint is good, anyhows, it reduces spasms in the stomach and intestines, ginger is good in small amounts also for other reasons, something to do with bacteria i think
this is why we still don't have inbound routing and ipv6 on most networks
because it would take away the reason for google to be the intermediary on everything
#nevent1q…qy60
also, in fluids, it changes the convection motion of changes in density during crystallisation so it probably generally reduces gravitational effect in fluids, so i would say it will reduce pooling and increase brownian motion and permeation of fluids, or in other words, will help dissipate concentrations of anything within a mixture of fluids, ie stuff like what can happen when you have kidney stones and stuff coming from too much sitting still and the lymphatic flows, just to help it loosen up
no, actually, as a deflector of radiation... also doesn't require incredibly strong fields but i figure this one will stop a lot of x, gamma, etc, an well as reducing microwaves within about a radius of a metre
no, just enough to buy my own damn drinks
where do i sign up?
stupid bank requires me to have the phone
stupid courier requires me to have a phone and stupid phone company makes it so i can't get sms on voip
i'm going to do like @npub1lmh…988t suggested and import the C secp256k1 library though, just need to find the code where he does the whole cgo import
put it this way, the poles are not poles but it's a ring, 100% a ring, you can tell when you dangle the keys real close to it, they hold around the middle of the ring surface
it feels kinda cool having it just above my heart though... might be vaguely interesting and beneficial
https://i.nostr.build/Djv89.jpg
the "200kg" magnet arrived
of course this optimistic pulling power is based probably on the entire disk on one side being attached to a large metal object on the other side
it takes zero strength to remove the keys as pictured , even along the axis of the pole
it's ridiculously weak
but i'm going to wear it anyway, even though it is heavy, i may find some way to distribute its weight a little but the magnetic strength is pissweak
or even i might just put this thing under or inside my pillow and sleep with its field around me
it's nothing special, really, it is supposedly a neodymium magnet but i've seen plain steel magnetised as trong as this
haha, кино is just the word for cinema in most of eastern europe
not when using the C library is 10x faster than the Go library
the go library should be at worst 95% of the C version

We've done it, Trinity. We found him.

MORPHEUS (O.S.)
I don't have to hope it. I know it.
yeah, the speed of the pubkey derivation using BTCD EC library is so utterly ridonkulous
number one reason why tyrants hate people traveling is when they learn that some places are more hellish than others
I've gotten it to write my 30041 events, but it keeps complaining that the $json in Relay.php must be of type string.
But it is a string. 🤷♀️
Uploader for a new event type, using a different NDK than we originally planned.
don't need drink from rockstars when i have my own sats
also just need to reinforce this
it could take a year to get a 5 character string
it's just not likely it will take that long
but you simply cannot predict this!
I’ve been playing with Laravel for a few weeks. 🤣 I still like Blazor better, but Laravel is pretty dang cool.
I installed Herd for trying stuff out. It reminds me a bit of XAMPP. Did you use something like that, or did you just manually set php up using the package manager?
and yes that was how i got mine
https://github.com/mleku/vainstr
i wrote this one, it can be instructed to search for initial, terminal or anywhere in between
it uses the btcec pubkey derivation with the BIP-340 variation to generate the 32 bytes that get converted to bech32 and then tested for matches
i have worked with proof of work algorithms for a lot of the last 7 years and i know what i'm talking about when i say it can vary very widely
i even devised mechanisms to reduce that variance by quite a lot (using harmonics and multiple parallel targets and such) but it still only was a factor of maybe 10 reduction in variance for solution computation time, and it was an increase in the verification cost and that reduces the security, i think
the whole point is that the cost of computing it has a probable high time cost versus the verification
it reminds me, @npub1lmh…988t has talked about using the cgo to import libsecp256k1 into Go - and i think the speedup is like 10x or so, but just keep in mind that ecah additional bit is a square or more of each previous bit, so where i said 6 months, if you used a C based vanity generator maybe you'd get it in 2 months
there is no guarantee in these things, it is based on random numbers and hash functions and clockwork arithmetic so your mileage literally varies, the solutions can come out anywhere, at any time, it is possible that you will start the miner and the next day it has the secret key
no, it's got nothing to do with the speed of 5 to 8 bit scaling of bech32, that is the cheapest part of the operation, it is linear based on the bit length in terms of CPU ticks
no, it is literally the cost of deriving a public key from a secret key using secp256k1 elliptic curve signature algorithm, in this case, for BIP340 pubkeys but they are the same as standard ecdsa pubkeys except for the funny thing about inverting the key value if it comes out odd, to eliminate the last bit and squeeze it into 32 bytes 256 bit instead of 257 as the standard ecdsa public key
that last operation is literally a check and invert operation, it is ridiculously cheap, like 2 or 3 cpu cycles at best, compared to the hundreds that are used to do the scalar multiplication operation that gives you the pubkey at all... it's probably thousands, in fact, and probably varies at each step based on how much the value overflows through over and over again into your fixed length (256 bit) finite field
cleanliness is next to godliness
lower your threshold of panic and your life will improve
oof
5 characters takes about 4-7 days
each character has a factor of cost of extra time that i have not actually measured, it's probably a power of 1000 or something, i dunno
put it this way, i'd estimate 6 characters will take a - 6 core, 12 therad AMD 4k series CPU about 2 weeks and 7 will cost you 3 months and 8 will cost you over 6 months
it's bound by the amount of computation involved in deriving a public key from a secret key using secp256k1 and this is possibly one of the most expensive computations that is considered "normal" at this time in computer science history
neither was I
i was saved by the burning desire to not be dead
#golangonly
that's the new #bitcoinonly
it was no coincidence that the two things appeared at the same time
they both solve for the same issue in different fields - eliminating abstraction and complexity
Nope. We're bringing PHP back, baby!
We're gonna code like it's 2021.
lol, i worked, i stacked, i spent, i regret spending
not in any danger of falling down without excessive impulsivity but i have that at a high level so it's a bit nervewracking
if you ever actually literally were feeding out of bins you'd have some concept of how much you don't want to fall back that way again
*clicks his fingers to wake her out of her trance*
those days are over, milady
now you are in a war with all the retards who love abstractions and "expressivity" and object models and need to fight for actually how to process shit
Nothing says "technical competence" like cat eyes and sparkle stars.
also, you will learn to read Go
my path was this:
BASIC -> Assembler -> PHP -> Python -> Vala -> Go
And it was beautiful. We had MySQL behind it, and eventually Angular in front of it.
Just worked.
see, i know what i'm talking about, it was nice like that
it was intended to be literally the proper language to construct web 2.0 things, with some database access library imported, that's why it's called php: hypertext preprocessor
it's inventors envisioned it as a simple language to enable dynamic HTML
I still love PHP, ngl. Only thing I can really read.
ah yeah, yuppies live on the streets and are familiar with scavenging food from trashcans
next guess pls
nope, it's very srs biznis
i'm not here for fun, this is my life and my job
i don't get to keep working in this thing without having the wits to know what is actually viable and what has potential to attract funding and what has potential to actually get customers and make a profit
this is my life, so, good luck playing in a battleground
i'm not gonna change my display name from here on
it is literally the short version of my npub and unless by some miracle my key gets pwnd i'll keep using it, and after that point, i'll publish it if it is clear someone has owned it
y so frivolous about serious biznis?
you tell them about how what goes up must go down... that is not advisable, better to step right back and get the popcorn ready for the fireworks
(or decipher your delusions)
yes, probably the difference is the boys have one level of abstraction called "vocabulary" and "grammar" that is a little opaque
it's all so ancient history for me that i'm just now a #golang maxi
it has all the things that were important along the road and everyone else is lost in the past
yeah, you can fuck the rules but this is computers, rules are everything, and they are literal and don't interpret your vague intentions (or attempts to deceive)
Fr. They're like halfway there, already. I have to think further.
i first learned it back in 2003 and i loved the dynamic arrays
yeah, but php be how it do
my god i barely even finished pressing ctrl-enter and i get an ack "reading emoji" from you
you are fast
It's like, the file extension is .php
It shoulda known. Just sayin.
haha
yeah, php is a derivative of XML
oh yeah, ironically, one of the best computers ever made, literally got the brand "girlfriend" - amiga
and it was a beautiful lady, she always knew what you meant, unlike these toxic corporate intel things
I just sat there, all frustrated,
Why doesn't it run?
Why doesn't it run?
OMG I hate computers and it's mutual! 😭
OMG I hate my life! 😭
Oh, forgot the <?php tag. Oops. Nevermind.
yes, boys and computers share this feature of literal interpretation of the salient words
package main
func main(){
fmt.Println("hello world")
}
The End
Or, as I like to call them "male developers on the same team".
stacking sats is important, everyone should stack sats
but stacking followers on #nostr is going to have a similar outsized result in the future
and you don't get it by pandering on this protocol, you get it by being brutally honest and sharp tongued
Yeah, Linux.
I already have golang setup, so five minutes.
i think you read (some of) my kitchensink guide, how long until you could do a #golang hello world?
tbh i forget if you run linux...
Took me like an hour, just to configure everything, so that I could try out Hello World. 😂
Haven't even used PHP on this computer before, so it's like 😜
https://c.tenor.com/5vkMIc-EaLUAAAAd/tenor.gif
i don't trust people who think that licenses are anything other than a permit to break the rules (just look up the fucking dictionary)
also i'll never use a client that uses automation that isn't based on MY data to decide what i see
these pinkhairs can report all they like, but for the most part, if they appear anywhere in my network, it's on my mute list
lol, rabble is the most vapid, rabid marxist on nostr, and he's really trying hard to cancel us all into the void
monero has no transaction capacity to spare if everyone uses it for this purpose
meanwhile, lightning literally uses a source routed variant of what Tor uses, and you fluffypony drones don't even realise that you leak the fact of you being a monero user when you broadcast a transaction
also, furthermore, i literally was working on dusk.network a couple years ago, building a smart contract system inspired by EVM and using BLS12-381 signatures with their handy pairing capability
i doubt ethereum is ever going to have that capability, because it requires a total retooling of their protocol, and i doubt dusk is ever going to go anywhere because private smart contracts are of less importance than literally just not letting the public see your fucking encrypted data
and in summary, monero's entire threat model and use case is obsolete, and you are stupid
this guy never heard of blinded signatures, supposedly
even though monero is based on blinded signatures
the core objective of brainwashing is to eliminate the ability of people to learn by anchoring fear using skinner/pavlov techniques to associate thinking with pain
once their effective IQ drops below 83 they cease to be worth doing business with
also, as well as dupes, the psychopaths also have this kind of intelligence limitation and psychopaths who are so evil they only have equal to 83% of average intelligence remaining for non-deception are also extremely dangerous
does he get this from how it's "bcash" or something? what's the computation going on here?
the weferiums are trying to coopt the "ecash" word now too?
i'm telling you, there will be a tipping point in the next year, where the rate at which people are driven onto nostr becomes dizzying
#nevent1q…4uqj
moneros are so boring, literally like 3 conversation points with them, and they are full of vitriol about bitcoin
the ongoing infiltration of everything with pinkhairs keynesian marxist activists continues
isn't it interesting that in the unicode emojis
we have many police related things
but no robber, no gun
nah, it's like i just mentioned
olympics
gregorian calendar leap years
it's also a harmonic of the earth orbit cycle, and 90 degrees in general (you know your astrology and orbital mechanics) is a significant thing, hell, it's related to the whole inverse square law as well, which is the 4 vs 3.14... pattern
i'm laughing
it's a beautiful thing to watch these things unfold in real time that we all went through at some point, usually over and over and over again
https://i.nostr.build/Q708a.jpg
😂 I'm just joking around.
I think the CLI is broken.
worse, a waste of money, because of the bad feeling it's gonna create in the long term
it's incredible there is still a RIPple shitcoin after all these years
P.T. Barnum wasn't kidding
yes, i know you been in this game a while but maybe this is your first experience fighting with the actual low level parts of it
literal is always implied, always
that's why abstractions are evil, because they confuse what is literally meant
not on my relays, what a breath of fresh air
Well, then GM, Mr. Troll.
Computers should understand what I *actually* meant by that. They take everything so literally.
If I mean it literally, then I will preface with the codeword "literally". Like duh.
literally print. No cap.
It's like, you know I meant from 2 to 8 and not 1 to 7. Like, computer bro, I am not feeling seen, felt and heard.
it's why i'm saying, nostr is an attractor, that is going to be a focal point for the refugees of the war on actual science in this case computer science, going on in the world at large right now
we are already the hard core of gfy salty bastids and we already have several notable salty bastids here, and razor sharp wits and analysists, jack, lyn, unclebob, and i can almost guarantee you that we are gonna get more of the heavy hitters coming here as they continue to poison the well
the neverending war against peer to peer networking continues...
idk but there is a fight on for the brainwashed to expel the founder, that's pretty hard core
it's somewhere around there
i'm pretty sure that the Great Flood happened close to 12800 years ago, and for sure the Tower of Babel (aka Noah or China event) happened 6400 years ago
that's 120 years later for the first and 60 years later for the second
just keep in mind that orbits are not tracks, any time any dense stuff flew past it perturbs the system and every time the sun blurts out a giant load of crap it perturbs things
really, the amount of time between 360 around the galactic disc is not only random like mining bitcoin blocks, it is also going to change as more stars form and matter that has formed at the edges slowly accumulates back towards the giant burning hot center, so, in other words, probably it speeds up slowly over time as well
so, no point in getting to fixated on times because anyway, as you know, time is relative to gravity, and your position in space and your inertia, which is dictated by gravity, so the feedback inherent in this system is inescapable
one thing that is for sure, the chances of a "killshot" CME in the next 10 years is very high, and that will mean no internet, no international logistics, and no electric heating or cooling, and probably roaming gangs of looters in the big cities
my ide is Goland and i am glad to be back using it because its ML suggestions are actually useful almost 50% of the time
the LLM based AI Assistant is wrong about 75% or maybe i am being kind
i am pretty sure that the inflection actually starts in just under 1 solar cycle (25th june 2025) and this is the solar maximum, and then for the half-cycle, the next 5.5 years, ie, until ~june 2030 we are in the post-solar-peak which in this case is coinciding with the approximate inflection point of the galactic magnetic rotation cycle, a giant swirling skirt that passes through this neck of the woods every 25600 years with 4 distinct subcycles that each have a catastrophic vibe, some more than others, it's randomised by a squillion factors
Asking my IDE. It seems to know some stuff.
so hmm what is the significance of 58
it's a 13 or 4 in summative numerology
it's 2x29 in number theory, prime factors
29 is 11, which is 2, and 11 represents collapse and separation
so 58 is a kind of binary revolution symbol
haha, that's why in Go there is only one loop construct, with multiple, intuitive forms, the C, the iterator, the while version and the until version (variants of the C form)
The worst thing is that I'm so bad that it's embarrassing to ask for help.
Can you help me make a while statement?
Yeah, sure, where is it? I can help you fix it.
I meant... like... how do I make a while statement? 🙈
the money printers have decreased the velocity a bit and just like when you are riding uphill and your ebike's motor cuts out, it feels like slowing down, subjectively, but in fact that's just a change of acceleration not a change of velocity
humans don't understand the difference unless they have scientific training so all they have to do is simulate a stop by slowing down the acceleration for a bit and everyone thinks that prices stand still, and then the dumb people whose daily bills are not going up anymore for a while vote for more government, because it stopped the inflashon and the cycle repeats
not sure how long until they return to the scheduled power level but i doubt it's much longer
some speculate that they use a 4 year cycle and for this reason satoshi chose a four year halving so the two things lined up together, it's an ancient custom, the olympics, the leap year (on the bogus gregorian calendar) probably some satanic bullshit tied up with this somewhere
ah yes it would be si-BEEL as contrasted to SEEbul
now, i knew that sybil (spelt differently) meant sockpuppets in network security theory, but i did not know that sibyl (with the opposite vowels, actually i'm guessing opposite accent, more accurate SEEbuhl versus Sibble) referred to an ancient greek expression meaning a woman who believes herself to be an oracle and blathers out stuff in a frenzy, that is sometimes right, and sometimes nonsense
well played, well played
I have yours listed, too! Now we're relay twins!
You can add theforest relay, anytime. 😘
just gotta find your relay list
I'm trying to program something really easy, but I suck at programming, so it'll feel really hard.
Please be ready for much whining, ranting, and gratuitous outbursts of tear emojis.
Let me do some pre-complaining, to warm up.
WHY DOES MY COMPUTER HATE ME? 😭
https://c.tenor.com/NC1jOh0DRgIAAAAC/tenor.gif
#devs
go woke, go broke
part of the reason why is what i was just saying about the personality of good programmers
they don't fawn they are hard edged, spiky, practical, and sometimes motormouth outspoken about everything that makes them feel salty
the entire software movement is being infected by this replicating swarm of blue and pinkhairs who don't know what a harsh world is practical engineering and got all their my little ponies as toddlers at the slightest squeal
sooner or later, they are all gonna be here with us, whoever could not swallow this rot, building the things that actually do what we want them to (even if it's buggy, fuck it, the VCs are flooding the rest of tech with DEI ninny HR staff to keep this process moving towards its inevitable chaostrophe)
#nevent1q…8xx2
also, nixos ded
competent programmers have left the building
cheap stuff isn't necessarily less quality, but it is almost always less advertised
i may need to request to join the forest or wherever you posted that event
My bubble, best bubble. 💓
#nevent1q…sltl
#nostr is #cyberpunk
https://youtu.be/xQ45g3r5Ifg
paying those models and actors is why they have to mark them up, in part
it's based on the fact that the people who are making nostr are not just unhappy about the deceptive bullshit of social network systems, but the entire stack, including the money, which is why bitcoiners are a big contingent here
we're also pissed about apple, microsoft, adobe, jpmorgan, golman sachs, the bushes, the clintons, the bidens, the european union, the us federal government, bill gates, george soros, greenpeace, elon musk, and so on and so on
nostr is the kernel of a punk rebellion in all technology, from money to computers to mobile devices to transport to energy
fao: nostr #marketing dept
this would make a great ad strapline :)
nostr is an entire operating system, app ecosystem and network stack project masquerading as a social network
haha
on a long enough timeline
Those big pictures with profile pics from different npubs. They usually have the same set of people and then like 5 different ones.
OMG @npub1ye5…knpr and @npub10np…tl5h teaming up like 🔥
👀
with the fact that at least maybe 10% of nostr users are devs it is probably more accurate to call nostr an antisocial network
#nevent1q…p089
Looking at the Nostr pfp-mashups really drives home the fact that my timeline doesn't look anything like anyone else's timeline.
Fascinating.
one of the ironic things about computer programmers is the less charismatic they are, ie, the more they just tell you how it is, and what it requires, and how it won't work or probably won't achieve what you think, the more likely they are to actually get the job done for you
the programmer personality is spiky, opinionated, verbose, and all the things that are the opposite of a party animal
devs who can do bounties have big stacks of bitcoin already
when multiple people take on a bounty, all but one have to be losers and thus betting on their own bitcoin stack they can make back their costs
devs know that doing dev work is extremely stressful and bounties are the worst if you have competitors
just look for a suitable dev, and trickle the budget out to them
ah yeah, i need to pencil in a visit to Schiphol passport office also, with my fresh new passport photos in hand and the 150 euros or whatever and renew, it expires end of next year and if i get it renewed now i'm good to travel on this quite excellent pasport until 2034, should be more than long enough to arrange a mongolian farmer wife and wade through the citizenship and be an official mongolian complete with rpk and horse and goats
so, because of portuguese (and european union) excessive import taxes, for about 300 euros worth of parts for my e-bike i have to pay 150 euros in taxes
and since bitcoin price is down, and i'll probably get my euros back before the bounce, i'm going to cancel the order, because i'm gonna be without a bike anyway for 2-6 weeks waiting for the freight from china anyway, i hadn't counted on it being so hard to find parts, or to have to leave the EU tax farm to acquire said parts, but the bike is damn dangerous without working brakes, and with the rear pads gone, the front ones getting close to the point they could pop out like the front ones, if that happens at 40km/h as i'm on a hill where there is literally no way for me to stop except to slam into a side wall or jump off and bust my ankles and wrists i'm gonna decline
probably will get a substantial part of my cost back on the original purchase just by this refund at this point, when the bitcoin bounce kicks in
so i'm back to walking around
https://i.nostr.build/jYLkr.jpg
i hate the EU
i'm definitely leaving it for good end of this year, and at minimum to Bosnia and if i get lucky, Mongolia - probably will have to wait for march next year for mongolia tho, not sensible to try and move there in the peak of winter
yeah just try clearing the cache to start with
apple deliberately makes this air of superiority a part of being an apple user as part of their method of catching and holding people as lifetime customers
and because it is brainwashing, it is the most offensive possible thing to say to an apple user, there's all these other reasons why they keep buying them, and they seem oblivious to the fact that they spend half their time complaining about how their devices are nerfed because you can't do things with them that you can do with android or windows or linux
brainwashing, apple's main business is brainwashing, and second after that is making shiny artifacts, and third is actual computer hardware, and software is the last thing on their mind
isolating apple users from the rest of the dirty plebs is part of their cult-driven mind control marketing system
it was the original form of the walled garden before there was app stores
one time amethyst wasn't showing my pfp also, it's probably just a "have you tried restarting it?" thing
there is a relay interface viewer in nostrudel on the relay pages, it would be cool if it worked with that
yeah, that's how it is in australia too
but aside from yugoslavia in europe it is the norm in the south, it's disgusting, i can't stand the taste or the smell or the look of it
there's even a meme in australian culture "where's the beef?" - it's not a bbq without the beef
Well, people could go there and poke around my relay. My relays are all sort of special...
LOL feel like my daddy came home and I'm all excited to show him my school report card. 😂
No, to Sibyls. Prophecies.
I'm good.
We have our Munich meetup on Saturday. Pretty stoked.
We had bunnies until recently, but they both died last year.
The hunting birds were always eyeing them.
Gray-eyed, olive-skinned brunettes are so underrated. Feel like we need our own lobby.
Wait till you find out what we've been up to! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
OMG you're back I missed you so much.
well i'm just saying that it's the same thing whether it's accessible in the interface but if it's in the deploy side it's more like a white label
Ohhh... Customized relay landing pages. Like MySpace. 🤩
so for white label type thing... you could also have custom themes and artwork and such as well
Yes, I can see the future. It is known.
nah, seriously, this is the kind of ridiculous spoiling i have literally seen in my life up close, this obsession with identities and pretending to be a lesbian or a boy is a typical manifestation of this damage and it's literally caused by parents giving in to tanties and granting every request... it's most common in middle class families where there is resources to do this kind of thing
they turn into monsters because they are not used to anyone saying no to them
Ah. Weird. Hardly any veal, here.
Maybe. I want the controls in relay.tools, tho.
i know that nostrudel has a heap of this kind of optional things in it, probably the code needed is already done, just a matter of building the on/off switches and moving more of the codebase inside these units
i wonder how hard it would be to do that... i mean, "plugin" is more or less a native feature in browser javascript engines, should be possible to have a config where you can have a baseline that is just the thing that enables loading of the other things
Imagine if we could create custom clients by tapping into your API to pull-and-display a very specific subset. 🤩
because they slaughter the cows 6 months too early
evropeiski standart, all ist veal, novilho, kein beef fuer zee
however, they do mow the lawn very nicely
We thought about getting some walking ducks, from the neighbor, but then we need to put up a fence. Have to chop down some trees, first.
And they poop everywhere.
But it was kinda true, tho. 😂 Sometimes dicks *are* the solution.
Just checked timeline. Mood: Sibyl
https://i.nostr.build/POVP0.png
yes, i'm the linguistics geek
it's sorta valid to say "motherload" when you talk about something movable but a rich fixed resource is a motherlode
Hmph. Here I thought it would have been spelled "motherload", especially in relation to this topic.
I was wrong. You were right.
https://brians.wsu.edu/2016/05/25/motherload/ | https://archive.ph/lDyrS
Core Lightning has (experimental) support for Bolt12.
I really do like the client.
Sounds like a good setup for power minus the occasional washing machine.
i'm skeptical
boingboing used to be cool too, and now it's a branch of the democrat party
longhairs are so lovely... i used to have this little black fluffy years ago, she was such a cuddle bunny
but yes, if only phoenix does bolt12 rn then only phoenix
but if other clients have bolt12 it should be interop
i think there is a proper name for the acinq java based lightning node... phoenix is just the mobile deployment of their LSP, i forget ... lemme dig up the github
https://github.com/acinq
yes, their full lightning node is called eclair
so you can run an eclair lightning node and use this feature connected to other eclair nodes
sweet, yeah, i host my own nostrudel on my mini pc that runs my bitcoin node also (has UPS and a mobile network backup connected up as well... and i'd be able to access my nostrudel from my laptop on a hotspot from the phone or the in-phone browser
power has only gone out twice in this place tho... and both times caused by a faulty washing machine, we have wind power up the top of the hill and i think the only thing that would actually screw up the power here would be a solar storm or hurricane
yeah, geyser is definitely a thing for stuff that is some ways into development already... if you have stuff you can demo, make screencaps and whatnot, not a lot of work, but if you have working stuff that is part way towards a bigger picture people will donate on geyser
it seems like you were not aware of its existence, i'm glad to see it connecting... they helped me get started back in october 2022 with indra, which has been a steady upward progression for me now
i'm gonna keep working on doing things on shitcoin grants for the time being but once we blow off the bitcoin top hopefully i'll have stacked enough that i can just subsist from that and a little extra from geyser for finishing the work i'm doing and getting releases out
i have other things in mind too, but most of them are a year or more of work for me to do, and maybe if i bumped into funding i'd be able to scratch up a helper to speed it up
With crowdfunding, the person who asks for funding is the person who had the idea.
https://i.nostr.build/XV6Gl.jpg
Bounties are the other way around, tho. What we're missing is crowdfunding. But we're just going to use Gyserfund.
oh yeah, sour cream is so awesome, gotta get the 20% tho
sour cream is a staple in yugoslavia, and ground beef, chilli and cheese is precisely nachos, just leave out the stupid corn chips and you're golden
yeah, a lot of people who have been chugging energy drinks for a decade or more are likely to suffer this, especially if they subsist on a diet of seed oil fried potato chips, the two things together seem to be hella toxic, but i will add further, that artificial sweeteners accelerate it, not the opposite that you'd expect
joseph is always behind you
it also leads to https://i.nostr.build/7GqAn.jpg
almost lost my vision, have reversed a lot of it with milk/carnivore diet, once you are in pain and can't see and constant ringing in your ears the pain of not fixing the problem is far far worse than the discomfort of having to think
is anywhere in LA allowed to not be???
bitch should have been told she can't have her my little pony when she was 3 years old more like
yeah, that's about all you need for a whole day too, and not bad price, if you can actually get it where you live (very hard to find actual ground beef here in madeira, only comes as hamburger patties for like 8 euros for 640g - two of those does me pretty much along with a couple free range eggs
russian blue hair doesn't show up bad either, plus to boot their are low allergy
your fault for not having only black cats, how can you wear all black and not have your pets all wear all black???
the hilarious thing is that every time i go out and leave my phone attached tethered to my UPS protected mini pc box as its backup modem if the power goes out, is that seems to be precisely the moment someone calls me to tell me they are coming to deliver something or other
but i almost never take my phone outside anymore at all
if i lived in a densely populated area (which i wouldn't) i'd be gathering a bunch of clothes that look like the generic people around me to wear as well, and have a few pairs of sunglasses with infrared blocking lenses to defeat facial recognition (the covid mask is bullshit, they recognise now primarily by the fingerprint of eyes and nose bridge
#nevent1q…6dvm
in that period there was a russian orphan girl who was a student at the music conservatory who i was completely hooked on... that turned to disaster in the end because i was drinking so much and actualy kinda psychotic... in the few years following that i found treatments (iodine) and settled down a lot but i really liked my anyechka
Ah, a tiny diamonds moment
Is that what made it terrible??
i would have stayed but she didn't want it the next day
more like wasp lifestyle
https://video.nostr.build/612314d9af9180fd2028295432b2c2d4462f5b28c486985870c1011385426144.mp4
it's my gheyberhood *SQUEAL*
😂 that's how they trap you in their caves!
haha, reminds me of one terrible one night stand i had with a goth girl a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away
i had to wait until morning fully to actually identify my clothes 🤣 everything looked the same and was all muddled up
socialist = cockroach
YES
#yestr
yeah, i did a little research and it's not hard to get permanent residence there, just gotta buy a place and learn mongolian, which you want to do anyway if you plan to stick around
i already can read cyrillic perfectly and the language is cute, like simplified chinese without quite so many vowels
i've got my eye on the region because it's perfect place to be in case of once in 6400 years disaster, not many lightning strikes hit the ground there, too high up for tsunamis to matter, ground is so thick that it's not likely to earthquake, it's not china, and it's not russia
the downsides are that it's dry, very cold in winter, and probably kinda poor
ooh, that old luc besson movie, another one, what was it called? subway? oh oh and speaking of french, The City of Lost Children, Delicatessen, Amelie, and more weird french "immortel: ad vitam"
oh oh and District 9, and i forgot besson's District 13, which also features some awesome high rise parcour action
Everyone is grateful that such women exist, but it usually sucks to be them. 😂
winners for their short sighted short term individual lives
and thank God for the Ada Lovelaces and Ayn Rands and Boudicas and that girl that refused to sit at the back of the bus and joan of arc and mary magdalene and mary of nazareth and esther and sarah and so many others
Selfish genes are the winners, tho. I'm clearly a model that Nature is selecting against. That's why there's only one of me.
Women aren't supposed to risk their own comfort or well-being. We're too vulnerable.
yeah, it was a little while later in 2021 that i realised that basically almost everyone i was letting into my life was doing this to me, and things have been way better since then
a bit more lonely, for now, but my reaction to attempts to fuck with me have started to get visceral, with so much peace between the bullshit
their self preservation is the destruction of society
There are enough people thinking. They just have a stronger sense of self-preservation, than we do.
They know when to just shut up.
i'm not sure how serious i am about actually making enough money to do it but i want to go to mongolia and have a herd of sheep and little coop full of chickens and find me a nice mongolian woman and learn how to ride a horse and shoot a rifle while on it ⚔️
i think if more people thought we wouldn't have the adolf hitlers and joe bidons and donald trumps performing a theatre simulating that they are doing the thinking, while toxic psychopaths pull their strings from afar
i came here because there is a big population of bitcoiners on the island, but they all live on the other side of the island and i hate it, hot and noisy and all the locals shout at each other all the time
people are more relaxed and quiet and the weather is cool most of the time, even now middle of summer i'm in long pants and a hoodie
Just don't take it too personally. They can't really help being the way that they are and there doesn't seem to be much room for opinions in evolution.
If everyone thought for themselves, nothing would ever get done because we'd all be off thinking.
it's not the same without a mouse and keyboard
the game is old, also, 2005, it will play on almost anything newer than 10 years ago, even the shittiest little netbook
The masses don't actually have opinions. They're just parrots.
Sorry. Just realized that someone invented a new attack vector, just to troll me, and it has me feeling sorta down.
How to make enemies and piss off people. LOL
@npub1qdj…fqm7 @npub1qe3…zefe has a nostr-php library.
half life 2 is a very special game, i have probably played through it like 20 times or more, i know that *after* i bought it, i racked up nearly 400 hours game time and by that point i'd played through it several times on pirate version probably as much as that again
It's like God was showing St. Peter what He'd made and St. Peter was like, Not bad. Nice.
No, Peter, you haven't heard the best part, yet.
I'm going to make her a software developer.
https://c.tenor.com/XpRVuVoWi5YAAAAC/tenor.gif
there is literally two very desert islands south of the bay of Funchal that are literally called the desert islands, because nothing except a few cactus grow on it (i also met a forest ranger who does 2 weeks stints watching over it)
the south side of the island is very warm and dry all year around, but i live on the north side and it's wet and cold all year round
https://i.nostr.build/lLEle.jpg
https://youtu.be/MMslU6APsys
here is where in the original Half Life 2 you can pick up a toilet from a jail cell and then you kill a combine soldier with it and you get an achievement with this icon
nostrudel has an emoji pack editor, you can look at other people's emoji packs, you can copy the raw event and remove id, npub and sig and rename it (d tag) also using the event publisher, then make it your own, and star it and it appears in the react panel when you hit the heart icon button at the bottom of tags
you said hit you with a toilet, and i'm a half life 2 fan since 2006
it's very simple on nostrudel, literally you set the name of the set, and each emoji you add by giving it a name and putting an image link (or gif) and then save and voila
the process of replacing it to upgrade to add more is what takes the complicated event publisher voodoo
https://i.nostr.build/vGXda.png
there, you will find a flying toilet emoji stolen from half life 2 deathmatch, i just added it now
also i learned i can replace the event, as the d tag that gives it a name makes it a parameterized replaceable event
Feel like I'm constantly fighting TPTB with my dangerous wrongthink. So isolating.
Weird that they didn't bother including a pandoc button.
this is the event publisher interface: https://next.nostrudel.ninja/#/tools/publisher
this is the emoji pack editor: https://next.nostrudel.ninja/#/emojis
this is one widely used pack you can find on https://emojito.meme

in the event publisher interface you need to remove "id", "pubkey" and "sig" fields and may need to remove a trailing comma (it will give an error if it has a trailing comma)
then click publish and it prompts you to sign it and the publish and voila, then you just "star" the emoji pack from your emojis interface and it appears in your react panel
Same "markdown upload to online book" concept.
Yeah, almost done. But with ePub and PDF, not just HTML.
https://wikifreedia.xyz/gc-alexandria/
[email protected]nostrudel custom event publisher is teh bomb
just used it to rename my emoji pack just now, so it looks more reasonable in the interface when i select reactions
i just learned how to use custom emoji reacts finally
butterfly = pollinator
cockroach = disease spreading scavenger
yeah, it's a nice time to not be needing to fix your car
and after you finish chowing down on that stuff, afterwards there is the finest plum brandy in the universe, made by grandpa (deda)
Surely, but this is funnier 😂
i'm sure you can dig up stuff about his beef ranch in hawaii also
it used to be a problem in the old days with nondeterministic keychains, wasn't possible, in fact, the whole wallet was one big long set of private keys, but with a HD keychain you can have multiple instances they use the same derivation paths and are for all intents and purposes two gates to the same wallet
ah it's amazing stuff, the serbs are the high priests of bbq
but yes also carnivore diet you have a lot less dental problems and bad bacteria in there
i never heard of this thing before nor know anything about anyone who made it, seems fishy to me
i remember seeing a screenie of some post he made about his tasty hawaiian beef ranch, but i'm sure he wants you to eat ze bugs
I was referring to the OP.
well, i discovered it as part of initially just a way to save money when a friend rugged me after i landed in madeira but eventually i had to stop, it was way too much carbs altogether, but the state of my mouth was really radically different even so
also i wish he'd throw it away, fuckin troll piece of shit

he's a real barrel of laughs this one
he's fond of certain terrible cliches about jews and twice posted an animation of one of these big nose cliches masturbating in replies
I don’t see anything. Looks like a throwaway account on my end.
you should look at his profile to get some more background on his persona
well, i think cigars are pretty foul lol, i'm not surprised the stain hangs around
https://i.nostr.build/VwWVG.jpg
https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSrYv2406emjZ6gXdwmwTEv0PgVPmwQUn1YPPQ-rDnk0kHkeg7zXRelLOMvQ8H2BAUSdyM&usqp=CAU
idk if this might be relevant but after i cut out all carbs except for the natural sugars in milk, i would be reminded for days after i did break that and eat some potato or nuts or bread, because nothing other than lactobacillus and acidophilus grow on lactose
and yeah it takes days for stuff to fully come off your teeth, especially the gaps and crannies, and being that the tar and smoke of a cigar is probably sticking well to those crannies it probably takes days for it to come out, even with intensive brushing (it almost made no difference, tbh)
but what i'm digging at is maybe the food you are eating helps the tar stick better also... possibly there is something you can eat prior to smoking these cigars that reduces this problem... like, a coating of grease from grilled beef or similar would help
but on the other hand, hah it's been over 18 months since i smoked a cigarette, i don't miss it at all
though what prompted me to stop finally probably was in fact diabetes and/or kidney stones
this is the kind of shit my father would send me, different version but same tricks
you gotta leave people like this out of your life... it has been almost 5 years since i wasted my time on that lowlife
they need to be cropped to an identical proportion and scaled to an identical dimension... it's very obvious each one is taken at a slightly different height
that seems very unlikely in light of the srpski rostijl lol
This is the Damus DM equivalent of someone ordering 🍕 from every delivery place in town and having it sent to my house.
Very funny.
Will, has it not occured to you that someone might be leveraging a flaw in your object model to troll me, by sending a steady stream of your users my way, asking me why I keep DMing them weird stuff they can't open?
These DMs aren't random. They are a steady, constant stream directed toward people I follow, day after day, for at least two weeks.
i have a theory it's because i'm eating turkey
and ate more today, it's the only thing i can buy at the supermarket right now that isn't veal and doesn't have soy in it
as i understand it, the protein is quite high in tryptophan, which is quite sedating when it gets into the blood initially
it depends on whether there is tags appearing in dms, i guess not 🤷♂️
I think some of them also just don't have anyone experienced with QA or DevOps on the team.
Yes, let's do a big one and OpenSats and Gyserfund can amplify the Nostrich favorites. 😊
And give everyone a bit of time to think about setting up a funding page and which project to suggest. I know some are intimidated by the grant process and would be more inclined to take part in this sort of democratic voting system. They want some positive feedback from the individual plebs.
We're all very focused on our fellow plebs, here. We want to know what THEY want.
We could have a Geyser #zapathon. 😂
One day when everyone goes to Geyser and zaps their favorite Nostr projects.
I’m pretty uninformed here but couldn’t 1 sat = 1 vote be gamed pretty easily? Would it be more secure to do 1 sat per unique LN address = 1 vote? Or is the intent to also crowdfund the amount through the votes?
Nostriches would love this, I think. We're a zap-happy bunch. And it would raise the public image of the grant-recipients by making it transparent WHY they are receiving a grant.
I've been asking for this for months. I do not understand the problem.
This is also something I was thinking. Let the Nostriches vote with their sats and amplify their effort.
https://next.nostrudel.ninja/#/wiki/topic/nostrudel-event-publisher
i have zero energy today
just want to wrap myself in a cocoon and dream
also that's not really HD, that's just a mnemonic seed for a key
HD would be deriving chains out of them by hashing the secret with paths
and it's really weird that they don't
yeah i recall this vaguely, was quite recent i think
this is the event console btw, you probably already knew tho https://nostrudel.ninja/#/tools/console
yeah, i'm trying that, this filter:
{
"tags":[["#p","dd664d5e4016433a8cd69f005ae1480804351789b59de5af06276de65633d319"]],
"kinds":[4]
}
but it doesn't work
i'm pretty sure that is the correct syntax for a filter to find all DMs with a p tag containing @npub1m4n…c2jl 's pubkey in tag
so idk how exactly the damus bug is malfunctioning if it's not picking up these tags
also i didn't mention, you need to do this to enable the wg on your client pc:
sudo systemctl enable --now wg-quick@wg0
haha, Lyn, this user is notoriously unpleasant
yeah, there is also the matter of services that do reverse proxy/vpn for you so you can run relays on your client PC from anywhere you are online that enables users to directly drop messages in your personal cache relay
this is unfortunately the key problem with the internet, and has been forever, and why i doubt they will ever fully deploy IPv6 - you wouldn't need third parties to run servers then... and add a decentralised name resolution service and none of those makeshifts would be required, people could communicate privately and without any means of disrupting it without massively disrupting the internet
building tools and services to automate this stuff would be a boon for nostr and privacy in general... if you have an IP address that you can forward traffic to machines connected to the VPN they can run servers and help with bootstrapping p2p communications, which is critical, IMO, to privacy
it also would enable you to have your own literal private inbox/cache relays inside your VPN that other people can directly send messages to you that only you have control over, IMO, this is the secret sauce that is needed to make nostr DM work
i think probably by the end of this year i will start working on a service that greases the skids for people to rent this kind of VPN/reverse proxy routing setup and easily deploy such services with lightning subscription payments and nostr will become completely unruggable with enough people in enough jurisdictions running these services
there is more configurations you can do to filter what traffic you send through the VPS, both on the client conf and the server conf, it defaults to having precedence for all network traffic
there is also clients for mobile devices to connect via wireguard
i just use it for everything because i don't think it's any of the internet's business my house IP address and they can pound sand having any useful data by siezing the VPS because it's in romania, and i'm in a different national jurisdiction, lol, it's not spook proof but it's casual surveillance proof
on the bright side, better to be talked about than not talked about, as they say
haters gonna hate 🤷♂️
yes, the default IP range is 10.7.0.x
so, you follow your normal thing, log into your VPS via SSH with the long root password they generate for you
then you need this https://github.com/angristan/wireguard-install to set up a wireguard tunnel and a client
set your pc up to run the wireguard tunnel (it's just a matter of installing wireguard on linux, the actual code is in the kernel, the package just adds the services setup) and you drop the config generated by that script into /etc/wireguard/wg0.conf
next, you need to probably take advantage of the VNC cli root shell that most VPS providers give you, as if you lose SSH access in this process you cannot get in via that path
you need to change the ssh configuration on the VPS so instead of listening on 0.0.0.0 it only listens on 10.0.0.1 - the usual IP address, just run `ip a` to see the wg0 once you have done that install with the script, whatever it is, your clients will have sequential numbers after that like, the first one is usually ending in 2
then, you need to also add `
[email protected]` to the "After" line in the /etc/systemd/system/ssh.service (i'm assuming your VPS runs ubuntu, which i recommend for easy finding of howto info and fixes for problems) so that the SSH waits until the address it will listen to is up
then after that you should be able to log in via
ssh
[email protected]and of course it is recommended to also reconfigure SSH to use only certificate authentication and put your id_ed25519.pub into /root/.ssh/authorized_keys
and that's the whole thing
after that, you can reboot your VPS and you will be able to connect via SSH only via wireguard, and by default the IP address that internet servers will see is your VPS, i use this on mine, rented a cheap VPS in romania for $35 for a year with minimal specs, all it has is a reverse proxy and wireguard VPN server, and that also allows me to run internet-reachable services as i was using to do testing with my relay development, and currently run my own instance of nostrudel for nostr client
when there is a repository storing data for you, you can have cross-installation state, what's the argument against using this part of the relay architecture? redundancy already easy to add just by storing it on other relays, it's encrypted to your own secret so it's not able to be breached by cryptanalysis, and the metadata is mostly worthless except to catch your activity cycle perhaps, and with auth those events can be restricted from non-privileged access and with cache management, a history and a limit on the number of historical versions
it is a form of state data, everything that is replaceable is state
so what are the relay lists and in/outboxes for?
https://github.com/indra-labs/indra contains code i wrote that extensively uses one-shot keys to wrap messages in multiple layers in the same way as it is done with lightning payments, but for carrying actual network packets
then you can't read your sent messages either
and that's not even covering the fact that the secret key used in the encryption is a one shot and you don't store it so you couldn't even decrypt it if you only kept the npub on record
i think "giftwrap" is a dumb expression, because really it's a one shot secret key, the public key is the recipient's, and because of ECDH they can decrypt it because they know the secret to it, and the pubkey you generated one off
it should be called a one-shot encryption, i'd be willing to bet that there is even a proper term for it in encryption programming theory
how does your client recognise you as the author when the npub in the event is not yours?
only the npub with the other half of the encryption key can read the content field, but i am pretty sure that many clients add tags when the DM contains mentions like @npub1m4n…c2jl
my god, she doesn't seem like a 3 year old girl having a tanty
i wish people would give up the fantasy of PoW working for anything other than bitcoin
why else do you think all the shitcoins went PoS? the miners killed them
who would have the greatest economic interest in mining for PoW thresholds? spammers before you know it there will be asics to generate events with high PoW scores and nobody who was stupid enough to think it would work will get a word in edgewise
the people who are reporting bogus messages from you will probably be involved somehow as well, they may also be appearing in tags of DMs
probably easy to just do it in nostrudel, create a filter just for your npub on "p" tag and some appropriate time windows and maybe kinds 4, 1059 and 1060
probably hang around like a bad smell because resource management is not something that many devs have taken care of either
yeah, this is why i have been banging on about nip-42 for so long, it's critical to DM privacy
it would be better to wrap that in private state data with the kind Application Specific Data
that would then let you have a whole keychain where you can auth for other npubs that are one shot aliases for you (using a HD derivation scheme)
currently most relays just give you everything if you send a filter with only kind 4, 1059, 1060 and many clients add tags when you mention other users that are visible in the clear (wtf?) this is why @npub1m4n…c2jl is getting people seeing messages that appear to be from her when they have actually just got her npub tagged!
also i'm sure you realise this means that sent messages is a problem with giftwraps, since only the recipient appears in them
storing state in application specific data blobs would help there
and only send you ones that contain the authed npub
Or are the DMs just discarded?
People on other apps must be able to read these DMs. I wonder what is in them.
yeah, it's kinda funny... probably could write a scraper that pulls all the events containing your npub and find out who, as well
stillwaiting.jpg on just actual auth support, let alone proper gating of access to privileged messages like DMs
I don't receive them. Will knows about them.
@npub1ymt…pxnz and @npub10vu…4qs4 were the most recent receivers, but I get a complaint about once or twice per day.
Someone is clearly very eager to speak privately with people about me.
1) Smart relays, like filter.wine, that work as business-logic "controllers" (in the model-view-controller architecture), wrapped around a model (the custom data set they manage). Nostr is originally designed to only have models (databases, in the form of dumb relays that store anything from anyone) and viewers (clients that contain both business logic and application logic).
Moving the BL to a Layer2 relay takes some of the control of the data from the client and puts it in the hands of the person running that relay, such as a community admin. It also makes the choice of client less important, so long as everyone in the community uses the same Layer2 relay, they could access it from anywhere those events are handled.
2) The client is the one managing the signing of events, so it has to sign the authorization request from relays. That signing function has to be built, and it's difficult.
3) Every product has a business model. If you don't see it, look a level higher. Someone's interests are being served. Who is that person or persons and what are their interests? In what direction is the development trending? Everyone has a strategy to serve some business model.
decent DM implementations
nobody uses DMs because everyone is being ridiculous about the metadata leak issue and so nobody is implementing the clients properly which means nobody wants to use them, and around in a circle it goes
i figured you'd appreciate this one 😛
a binary encoding for nostr relays would allow these events to be half the size (by encoding them as raw binary), just a 2 byte tags array length prefix, one byte for the `p` and then fixed 32 bytes for the npub
but if the follow and mute events had optional forms where they add and remove as one at a time this problem would be eliminated, though it would require the relay to be smarter about caching the whole list, logically would make sense to have a sequential 64 bit number register of npubs then they are only 8 bytes long without any ambiguity
i had a caveat though... the SSH service was coming up before wireguard, and because it was set to bind on the IP address created by the wireguard TUN it was failing to start on reboot
i added
[email protected]to the end of the After line which has network.target and auditd.service on it in default (ubuntu 20)
and now after i reboot the VPS i can get back on the SSH within half a minute
This has happened a few times; that we were off discussing something difficult and obscure on GitWorkshop and someone wandered in with the answer.
Once we get that all through, the battle moves to app and relay wizards and a truly open Nostr OS.
We've been in a battle for AUTH, completely customizable relay management, and the establishment of Layer 2 relays, for some time, now.
It runs counter to their business model. As far as I know, only Nostrudel allows for all 3.
it also eliminates the endless noise in my syslog too
here is why i hate the existing all-in-one lists for follow and mute
i've seen them beyond 500kb!
#nevent1q…73df
interesting... i now put my SSH only behind wireguard so now the only vulnerabilities come from that, which is a much smaller attack surface
The beauty of moving the dev conversations to Nostr.
Yes, on Nostrudel, I see you as "...leku", until it finishes loading. My hardware is a bit slow, so I remember some color-outlines and the ends of their npubs.
my npub even has my display name as the last 5 letters, doubly so the rest doesn't matter... some clients even show this clearly
Your customers tend to be loyal power users.
Make a wizard, where they can create a custom Nostrudel interface, down to which features and information are displayed where, and then hide the other features under "More".
Zuckerberg is even worse, in some respects, but not in others.
I see power users, not devs, as the primary counterweight to SuperApps.
We're doing something like this with Alexandria.
Making it very simple, and then branching off a variant to make Biblestr, by changing the stylesheet, domain name, and editing the underlying query to pull only a tagged subset (Bibles).
Someone could do the same with lots of different types of apps, like community apps. Have a wizard that edits a generic app.
That would undermine the SuperApp direction most effectively, I think, by strengthening the creative hand of power users.
The big clients are fighting the idea of community relays. They prefer you stay on their preferred relays and just use the clients' encryption and interface to separate off.
They and their users start screeching about how that is censorship, completely oblivious to the censorship possibilities of a SuperApp.
It's actually much easier for normal users to assert independence on the business-logic side, than on the client-logic side. By customizing the data set, you could have extremely simple generic clients that anyone could use to make their own customized app. Just need to have a different skin and pull a different query.
we use bit.ai where i work now, been moving off google... skiff was perfect and then notion rugged it
bill gates 🤢 🤮 i hate him so bad
I use LibreOffice and I've done some projects over GoogleDocs, but almost everyone seems to be on 365 because of work and school accounts.
vitalik buterin 🍭 🤮
hah, there is no emojis for robber or thief or anything
wow, vitalik is not only an epic scammer but a trans/woke nutter as well - i mean, the metabolic disorder should have given that away, mister lollypop head
nope... google and libreoffice here, also, almost everyone i've worked with for the last 6 years, mainly google, if they even use it other than online
Those corrupted DMs aren't from me. They're a Damus bug. I'm aware that many of you are now receiving these DMs.
Please report them to @npub1zaf…26k5 or @npub1xts…kk5s
lol, every other day, i've been watching for a while, there was StellaInForest and then there was Laeserin and now Despota Svezda which i inspired around this thing about being bossy, that's maybe one change every 2 months at most
There is no point. It's an inside joke.
Theoretically, a .doc or .xls file is also an open protocol. Anyone can write or read them, anyone can send them around. But almost everyone writes or reads them with Microsoft products.
Yes, we're trying the same thing.
I think normal social media has to end in a monopoly. Only something use-case/community-centered has a chance.
Although the big clients can eventually co-opt that, as well. Or simply take over the operating system with all their stuff preinstalled, like Windows did.
And, yes, we have total independence. Nobody can threaten to pull our funding because we have no open contracts or external debts.
We work only for ourselves and for the users, and the users will be our only customers. Our hope is that some users will see value in our integrity, that our culture of intellectual freedom will continue to draw in talent -- including talented users! -- and that our independence leads to superior products.
It might not, but it's worth a try.
They're just Jenkins and Gitea servers and we use them internally, on our team's remote server on the GitCitadel.eu website. They're not open to the public, but anyone can do the same.
major player in setting that up was John Kellogg, who also started the default circumcision and the reason for that was to stop masturbation
Software doesn't have the same economies of scale in production (it actually has productivity ceilings), but the basic service tends to be offered for "free", so there is no price-discovery, at the beginning, and branding is the primary onboarding advantage.
Yes, but I've worked with the pharma industry. Generica have such low margins that they lead to centralization of production, as they differ only in price and the biggest producer tends to have the lowest price and the thinnest margins.
Hmm. Yes. I think we've been seeing that most users generally have an incredibly high intolerance for friction. Even downloading a different app or changing a relay is too much effort.
That's why it's best to not compete directly with apps that already dominate a space, and instead focus on acquiring completely new users with other use cases and building out the functionality there. They also won't be inclined to move.
This is the most viable anti-centralization strategy on an open protocol, I think.
Time and uncertainty only mean it is unclear which app ends up the SuperApp. They are not arguments against extrapolating out the trend.
https://c.tenor.com/LVlO_pIoR_cAAAAC/tenor.gif
I would never have recommended it, otherwise. 🤝
Tests can't find every obscure case, but the obscure cases lead to better tests.
The protocol is primarily the implementations.
I think AUTH goes against the SuperApp model because you can circumvent their business logic by using a smart relay.
Nostrudel has implemented it, now, but he's clearly aiming his product at devs and powerusers who would fork it.
We're even writing our own NDK, all the way down to the memory allocation and encryption libraries, so that we can offer other people an alternative codebase for building their apps and the protocol can't be dictated to them because they have a choice of viable libraries.
Like 😂 fuck him, fr.
Competition doesn't ensure diversity. It ensures the survival of the fittest.
Well, yes. Suppose I needed to write it
California "Capitalism"
A variant of corporatism, I suppose, where the quick accumulation of large sums of money without commensurate effort leads to the problem of how to spend it effectively. Bitcoin had a similar effect as fiat, while the price was very low, and differs mainly in the fact that the effect has slowed and will eventually stop or even reverse.
The best way to spend it is to give it to a group of people to have them building something. Then it can be spent productively. But giving them too much money, at once, or giving them money for too long, creates distortions in their behavior and in the market. Giving too little means you can barely spend anything, or you need to find a gazillion groups to spend it on, which is too much work and might lead to price inflation (stimmy check effect).
The amount of malicious preoccupation that man has for me is unhealthy.
Rent free, fr.
That means, if there is only one client, then we can theoretically own our own data, but we are forced to follow their rules as to where and how we use it.
So, we all have cars and driveways to park them in our own garages, but the government owns the roads, can take away our license to drive, remove our license plate, or dictate which cars we are allowed to buy.
Clients can dictate the events, tho, and control what people see.
We at GitCitadel are some of the very few people working actively on all fronts against centralization, so I find it deeply ironic that I inspired his post.
1) We're renting 2 relays and privately running 2 others.
2) We moved the NIPs repo to the Wiki
3) We founded a group to build an alternative to GitHub and to create an entire suite of alternate, professional-grade Nostr clients
4) We have refused to apply for centralized grant funding, preferring to simply pay out of pocket for everything and protest
5) We market alternative Nostr clients every damn day and use them regularly
6) We've set up a remote gitserver and buildserver
And etc.
But we and what army, sir?
We're also heading toward OneRelay, tho. 😂 The outbox model has still not been universally applied and it doesn't help if that outbox is always the same relay.
yeah, i was messing with bleach for a bit and half my shit is faded and i am sad
so now i'm like, fuck this white stuff, in fact i probably am going to go through my whole stash and plop all the white things into one drawer that i never open and stick with the darks
goth 4 lyfe
literally all my clothes are dark, if not black, at least grey
just get tea towels and bleach and washing soda and run em on short cycles hot
i prefer dark teatowels anyhow, because most of my clothes are black and all this white cloths and sheets is a disaster to wash at the same time, i hate white fabric!
tea towels > paper towels
washing machines, washing soda, bleach, high temperature, short wash, easy
otherwise, just buy those paper towels by the pallet and be done with it
paper towels are very bulky to bring home from the shops, i might feel differently if i had a car but i don't
haha, i used up the three rolls that came with my apartment 6 months ago, and decided that using the many cotton towels in the drawer and washing them in the washing machine was cheaper, i just had to get some dark ones to not end up with pink ones (oops, too late) ... literally clean the induction glass cooktop now with cotton tea towels all the time, and leave one next to the area for a few days before i throw it in the machine
the tea towels are actually more economical at least on the level of transport and bulk but probably cost a little more overall due to energy
solitary foreigner on a strange island full of wineries, with little interest in getting connected to the bad people on the street (already seen enough crack dealers on the other side of the island thx)
and rarely smell the smell like anyone smokes it here either, though i've been fixed in place for some time, nobody in my hood is smoking as far as i can tell, hardly anyone at least, i think i recall twice smelling it in 6 months
haha
but i have no puff puff
honestly it's been soooo long since i did this stuff!
i just remember, best brushes were sable, and the ink is just called "indian ink" but that's only black, you can get other types of ink as well, in red, blue, green, etc, but the main characteristic of ink is it sets fast, even faster than watercolour and usually very dense pigment (often actually dye)
you will feel like a fish in water once you get used to them, they are the supreme medium, i'm telling you
everything else will get easier once you are confident with ink
oh yeah, Windsor and Newton make really nice "watercolor pencils" which let you draw like pencil and then watercolour them into more wispy, dreamy stuff, definitely recommended to get some good fine brushes for watercolour pencils
oh yeah, also, when you want to do colours, you can do them in ink as well, but the next after that, not so wishy washy as watercolor is guache, and i forget the other one, one is from egg white and the other from milk protein, these types of paints are more thick and pigment stronger, but are a little more workable than watercolor
no, really it's not that bad for getting everywhere, it's fairly thick, and yes, you can dilute it and make shading too
i'm telling you, if you want to master painting, ink is square one
good fine brushes help a lot too, i recommend sable, it is very soft, but check out the options, there is several other options but sable is the most pliant and soft and absorbent
seriously, watercolour is fast... it's a sketch medium, really, you can't fuss over it
if you want to fuss over brushwork, acrylic is a good cheap start but you can rework oils for hours before they set in
but if you want to learn how to use a brush, ink.
ink. ink. ink.
indian fucking ink.
you won't regret it, it's like magic
these can be good for watercolor because they allow you to layer more, but i'm telling you!!!!! get some indian ink, then you'll get it
ink and brush is a beautiful medium, just ask the chinese and japanese... once you get used to working with the brush and ink the watercolour will flow easily from there
idk but i really recommend you just get some nice fine sable brushes and indian ink and get comfortable with the brush and the irrevocable nature of its marks
it's like nostr, only on paper
nah, i think the open protocol precludes this kind of closure
you have been outlining clearly the biggest problem - the donation/grant based donor-as-client problem that leads to a bazillion proofs of concept that are shit to use
the nostr.land nostr.build and nostr.wine services show that there is viable business models in supporting the open protocol (just like how yahoo, google, and microsoft bulit off email)
we are just waiting on more mature clients, more than anything
and they are the ones getting all the funds and they are so slow at enabling critical things like auth because they are so professional lol
nonsense, the protocol hasn't changed that much, only grown
i'm not certain but i think that probably industrial music was the first samploors
https://youtu.be/osQMG9f0HC0
just one simple example, youtube dates it at 15 years ago but i bet this was actually made long before that
oh yeah, ministry
https://youtu.be/rmenTtGe_6I
lemme think some more, how far back
i knew of samplers as a hardware back in like 1987 or so, and a heap of the industrial artists i know of today got their start in the late 80s, Suicide Commando, Funker Vogt, hell, what was that old one, Kraftwerk
ah, hilarious
https://www.whosampled.com/Kraftwerk/
kraftwerk was an early source of samples!

my advice is start with ink and brush, you'll get the hang of one stroke forevar
me laughs in did my first 10 situps this morning in months
the good news is that just by cutting out carbs i lost the whole bloated whale thing, but now it's time to tune the strings
Nostr 2.0
Nostr's Darkweb.
GN 😴
The organic chaos of an open protocol leads to monopoly because the only way to escape the chaos is to only use one implementation.
Because then they'd implode into one SuperApp. Only separating the data sets prevents this.
Software is a commodity and Nostr makes it even more of a commodity. Add AI and it's over.
Sort of the way an increasing number of chemicals or production is only available from one supplier.
Well, one large app could just copy or fork every new innovation forever. Nobody new could ever compete; only get absorbed into the borg.
It gives my theory some legs, if nothing else 😁😂
ah yeah, legendary story of wild children
probably is rooted in actual events too, like most of these stories of magic
daeh ruoy tlit ot deen uoy ebyam, wonk t'nod i
I brought this topic up over lunch. Ended on Romulus & Remus so I'm feeling pretty vindicated 😂🤣
Humans don't actually differ that much. Just need AI to find the precise combination that they prefer and you're basically done.
Only a few freaks (like me) will refuse the offer.
the unocycle @npub1ye5…knpr
How many things that just tie together is mind-blowing enough... trying to apply those concepts to archeological discoveries is so very, very difficult for me to wrap my brain around... but somehow it always circles back 😂
not gonna happen because fuck will and his rust
indeed, but seriously, every time i pass the young bulls tethered to feed on patches of grass, and the goats and sheep, and the moment they notice me they are staring longingly at me, and i'm like, "hey, i don't know who you are this is kinda weird how you are looking longingly at me"
the whole complex is very clear, a web of organisms that work together and make certain pragmatic sacrifices that are natural to their biological limits to defend and feed each other
and on the 7th day, the Lord said, let's have a BBQ, and the sweet smell of the roasting wafted up to the heavens, and the lord said, feed the scraps to doggo, he made this all possible
🤣 🐕
Damus as the new operating system for all Internet communications? Like a new Internet layer?
I do increasingly feel like I'm part of some Nostr Darkweb, for the rebels who don't use TheBigThree.
Nostr takes over all communication channels and we all use Damus. The end. 😂
Sounds ridiculous, but also very possible.
We already have that, to some extent, with the larger apps driving the protocol with their implementations.
Perhaps the natural state of communication is a monopoly and we can only prevent the collapse to that by actively fighting it. 🤔
A SuperApp could just constantly alter the protocol, so that you can't interact.
Yeah, the human/dog duo goes back 50k years... dogs are more scavenger than hunter so I think we were hunting, they were scavanging our scraps & offering protection from other predators because everything is scared of a pack of dogs. They opted to follow the best hunters so they did the conscious selection before we did. At some point we realized that we were no longer getting eaten by bears because of the dogs and began willingly sharing our bounty, marking the completion of our domestication & the beginning of theirs. 😅
Glad I reported it. Thought I was just too regarded to figure out how to pull.
Am I the only one who worried about that? That we could end up without a protocol because everyone uses one SuperApp for everything?
Like Nostr becomes WeChat or something.
#nevent1q…4m46
I already miss the tabs. 🥺
When subscription customers get classic tabs and tiger-striped outlines on PfP?
i'm lucky, i just dropped some github links and they emailed me :)
most americans don't know the difference, it's pretty substantial
i doubt it, but if we are, awesome!
On the one hand, I love that.
On the other, I worry that Nostr will eventually only have one app and therefore cease to be a protocol.
horde: large group of things, usually people
hoard: cache of stuff stored away
and yes, dog is a hunter, and a mammal, mamma doggo is killed by human while doggo tries to hunt human and baby puppy follows hunter back to the village
the rest is entirely predictable
hunting came first, ergo, dogs were the first pet, cats, birds and rats all depend on grain agriculture somewhere in the equation
It was. Was annoying to read, before.
then the economic decision would be based on the friction of such a mass migration (mass, i mean, you know, 35k)
this is a pretty complex evaluation to make, i've been busy with that whole equation for a long time and for me, bosnia and mongolia are the two prime candidates, and i have direct experience with bosnia, friction levels are low especially with an organised group
their reputation came on the heels of a lot of very successful military adventures
the whole of eurasia has mongolian genetics as a result, i'd call that a roaring success as a clade
https://i.nostr.build/l8Zw.gif
better to pick a wasteland that we know how to build up over generations (carbon, etc) islands are very unstable ground, better to choose elevated mountain plateaus imo, flood risk, tsunami, etc
ah, well, the question of morphology is a good one... one change in the DNA you get 6 fingers or double the height
the morphology stuff is telegraphic and environmentally controlled i think, telegraphic as in, seemingly unrelated small changes in several areas can cause a radically different morphology
part of morphology even comes from how the growth accumulates, the "scaling" part of the process of growth
The ole post-it versus notepad debate. 🍿
indeed, it is arguable that the first pet was a dog
the cat came after agriculture, probably, because of the vermin, the dog would have been part of the domestication of the sheep, goats and cows
I have to hold more and more information in my head and I keep finding myself trying to memorize the order we're all doing stuff.
Might be time to roll out a Kanban board.

this one looks pretty good, there is probably others
i mean, ultimately it's just a TTY with security, tty's in Go are the daily bread

The excuses are wearing thin.
Did you have to print "Hello World"?

Really? 😂 Are we overwhelming the nudie girls and the Neonazis with git proposals?
Just broadcasted it. Maybe that helps.
Maybe a problem with broadcasting the event.
Only problem I have is caching. I still see the old version, on my phone, but not on my laptop.
Phone refuses to update. 🤷♀️
If that's the case for you, you might be able to see an updated version here:

[email protected]Yup. Only place where everything always shows up and looks neat, and where I can broadcast wiki pages.
skeptical good
but this is based upon the genetics identified in various aged bones over the last 200k years, and that's what the current estimate is
the evidence of the event that did it is also questionable, if you are proper scientist you question everything, might be wrong, maybe that event was less bad than we thought but the people were just unlucky for no reason at all, just bad luck
idk if you read much Taleb and i hate this bastid nowadays but Fooled by Chance is a study in how we attribute causality where there is nothing but chaos
i'm not that big a fan of the stupid maxim that "what can be attributed to malice is more likely to be caused by stupidity" (because malice loves to induce stupidity) but finding pictures in the noise is another flaw in cognition that can cloud understanding as well, so, you have to actually study it to have a firm opinion
mine is very nebulous, but i like the way it fits with the rest of the data i have absorbed
i see the way the goats, sheep and cows look longingly at me and i never saw them before they started this behaviour
i think they started it, they recognised the adaptable, kind protector and warmed us up
same with cats also
not even intentional, per se, just one survivor follows another and the genetic program is printing
Would you be amenable to the idea that dog domesticated man 1000 or so years before man domesticated dog? 😂
exactly, being uncertain and willing to absorb new information is key
idk but i'm planning to long term migrate to mongolia
you get permanent residence by buying property in mongolia, plus it's probably the safest piece of ground on the planet in any case
😂 I'm pretty sure there's a lot of attitudes that wouldn't survive a mass extinction event. I don't think survival weighs on incertainty so much as adaptability.
Okay, I've updated our @npub1s3h…75wz wiki docs with the information about our two new team members and our upcoming Alexandria eReader web client. 😊
#naddr1qv…cqll
yeah, the disaster cycle is real, but they want you to believe that you using energy brings on the disaster instead of a giant rippling magnetic flux emanating from the biggest source of electromagnetic forces in our locality (the sun is big, but the galaxy is bigger)
the genetic evidence says that as little as 5000 individuals made it through that one
facts: those who are not equipped with warnings during extreme events are fucked, yes
smarmy superior attitudes are also a sign of such non-survivors, real world requires a weaker sense of certainty
Glad to know I'm not the only dark optimist around here @nprofile…p4wx 😂
What isn't pointless then?
Humans had to have survived 75k years ago. Not that something catastrophic didn't happen & set things way back but there's pretty clear evidence of migration something like 70k years ago. Or am I mistaken?
laborers and service workers are both downtrodden and critical elements of our societies
mainly because pompous asshats with connections make the rules and fan all the admiration towards them using manipulation
i'm not here to sell fear, either, the literal meaning of "fear monger"
i'm here to provoke thinking and investigation
believe it or not, there is facts that exist beyond the realms of current human mental models and records
we didn't create this universe, and we can't know what it is without looking and measuring and wondering what the measurements imply
humans nearly didn't survive the event 75000 years ago
the amnesia of a short historical memory that keeps getting slashed by a 6400 year cull and the additional influence of people whose entire social status depends on them suppressing any substantive evidence of more than a few centuries of verifiable history means that everything that isn't "business as usual" is fearmongering
the number of evidences of epic disasters is beyond ample to suggest that such a blase attitude towards the future, and inevitable next catastrophe is both foolish and malicious
pointless
temps are gonna go down, and more concerning will be drainage, seismic activity and lightning strikes

i'm typographically and graphologically obsessed (those two subjects were big for me in my teens) and i know a simple (clean) mind when i see the way it conducts the transcription as text via the hand
i'm also a programmer, and my handwriting looks a lot like a teenage girl
Well that makes the dream of a little solar powered air conditioner in every overheated, dwelling a little futile then, eh? 😅
my favourite kind of lady
when we see CMEs of a certain size creating bigger geomagnetic storms (which you can measure by their interference with terrestrial radio systems) than they have historically
this has been a slowly rising trend and we are in the peak 2-3 years of the solar cycle right now, and we had an unprecedented aurora visible as far north as new caledonia in early may, this never happened before, not even with the famous carrington event of 1859, which means that the amount of energy that was conducted down to earth was far higher
the actual solar flare that caused the carrington event was more than 10x what happened this may
no but seriously, geyser was important in my life around a year ago, and if you go back to their history of grants the first round my indranet project won the first "second prize" from it (just ask @npub13v9…3rka he and i have had much dealings) and i bumbled onto that via the #dvadesetjedan group that i found from twitter, on discord, they pointed me to geyser
i hope some day i will be able to advance the indranet concept, really, it's just the execution of a network transport built on top of the source routed onion TLVs used by lightning
i kinda gave up on it not just because i ran out of funding but because of the complexity of network intelligence (p2p discovery) as i'd taken a shortcut to use libp2p but realised that it introduced a scaling limit
ok, maybe that limit wasn't that big a deal, especially if it was just like bittorrent's mainline DHT, but it's not, libp2p puts you basically on the backbone of the same network routing protocol as IPFS which also has the scaling problem
something me and my sponsor were getting excited about was building a p2p mesh that didn't require nodes to have a full network inventory in order to function, so that clients could send messages and relays didn't have to know who they were forwarding to, necessarily, this is a critical scaling feature and is also why bitcoin has over 20k replicas, which is far more than libp2p/ipfs could ever handle
it was in the realisation of this problem that i was near the end of my sponsorship and i started getting sick
anyhow, now i can trigger that program using NFC on my washing machine
fancy.
and it's not a normal 11 year solar cycle
it's because the magnetic flux of material emanating from the centre of the galaxy flips 360 every ~25600 years and in the 90 degree phases (6400 and 12800) you get a massive reduction in the protective effect of the earth's magnetic core and this leads to ... earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hella rain and lightning storms, and the king of them all, the cosmic thunderbolt

Geyser has an interesting combination of crowdfunding and grants, that we prefer to the OnlyGrants stuff. They sort of amplify crowdfunding with grants.
That's where we're going to setup our funding page, after we launch Alexandria. OnlySats could contribute there, but who knows if they do that sort of thing.
Nah. I have no idea what you are talking about. You've always been a little sunshine. 😉
they will come back when they are also shadowbanned and muted and prosecuted by their local police forces for hatespeech
they think this is all just funsies at this point
anyone who uses next.nostrudel.ninja would be seeing a change that @npub1ye5…knpr made to use the first 6 hex digits of pubkeys as a colour outline to help reduce impersonations... i thought it was his idea... he thought it was my idea... lol! maybe i was not in my normal mind also at the time haha

anyhow, thanks for the story, and i hope it continues to progress
something occurs to me, while thinking about this thing, which i ordered one of (the one with bitcoin/lightning on it clearly readable)
https://lasereyes.cards/skins/
if i get a generic corporate lanyard and card holder thing, and have it sit so the card is visible out of the corner of my eyes around my sternum, the fact it winks when read would actually alert me to the presence of a skimmer or reader nearby
that could be interesting in itself, even if seeing it wink might mean defcon 1 nuclear card freeze
also, it was initially seeded by a nice irish chap who put up with me sharing his cambridge house for some time and i made the venture to help him (and me) move to madeira before his budget on my sponsorship was expired
much respect and thanks, it was some crazy hard stuff at times and in the middle of it all i started to have all kinds of kidney/diabetes problems that really broke my productivity, and made me quite difficult to be around, many nostriches who know me from december last year would be able to relate
yeah, it was over 20k lines of code, all written by me between october 2022 and 23
these guys facilitated my first start ... now, i totally even forget what it was for! wasn't a huge amount, they were running a grant campaign, maybe related to https://github.com/indra-labs/indra
iirc the funding value was around $500 in fiats at the time, about a year ago maybe, could have been sooner
i did a lot of work on that codebase but it languishes because it needs more work and testing, and probably a hella refactor, it was not terrible as it was, included a whole bitcoin-centric SHA/secp256k1 cryptosystem for the connections between peers and clients
Very good Introduction to the topic.
Yes, I reported it. Second report to them, in as many days.
I went to show you all some Nostr crowdfunding and this is what I saw. 😂
https://i.nostr.build/Q7V3Z.png
meh, i can wait, i almost never go outside my house anyway, and am super wary of any shady looking bastards who seem keen to get close to me like they might be skimming my NFC cards
the faces i will get when i flash this thing with "bitcoin is better" written on it and then keep it facing towards them so when the reader reads it it winks a zap at them
oh yeah people will notice and remember, it will be very novel indeed
and i might just make a home-made faraday cage out of cardboard and alfoil anyway
anyone who thinks it's tacky to talk about bitcoin has a brainwashing problem, and you need to raise their mental handicap adjustment level to adjust to the fact that they are now under the minimum 83 IQ level required to have a productive interaction with them
https://lasereyes.cards/skins/
i dug around the site a little more and found this awesome thing, which i want, although i'm then gonna need to get a more roomy faraday cage slip to hold my xapo card in
people will see the zap winking when the NFC is read and i think it will start a few good conversations, or maybe even introduce someone interesting to my lonely existence
#nevent1q…rljt
hmmm i need a faraday cage slip option now
i merember that @npub1lr2…lf8t had a modded nfc card he'd programmed to send his npub to any device that uses it, when i bumped into him at bitcoin atlantis
perhaps you should consider modifying the purchase ordering to allow users to ask for an npub to be burned in and locked for them, and maybe even add their npub and display name to the back in the style of a credit card (npub as the card number part) - i have a xapo card, mastercard, yes, and on the back is where the actual card number and expiry etc are located
maybe even putting a unix timestamp of the oldest note you can find from them too... in place of expiry and CVC
Grants only seem to help build anything high-quality when given to someone who built high-quality things before they got the grant. It doesn't seem to make someone start building better quality and it doesn't appear to be an indicator of quality.
That's why I think crowdfunding is superior to grants. You build up a reputation *first* and then people trust you and pay you to *do more of the same*. And they keep their money in their own pocket, until they give it to you, personally.
But all the grant money flooding the Nostr space has dampened our crowdfunding-fu.
https://i.nostr.build/Q7VDJ.jpg
well, the codebase is slated to be used in a NEAR network project coming up, but i'm not actually going to be having much to do with that, because the main task is buliding another event store for a different blockchain
my most immediate near future work is going to be an aggregator/bridge that primarily is about pulling data from nostr, blue esky and fartscape to feed to arweave
i want to make my stuff better and ultimately be able to in the near future drop in a whole new server core and codecs and associated libraries in place of the dodgy khatru based relay code and then rework the client side of it to adapt to the new, faster codecs (it's a huge change that breaks most of the APIs)
what i'm quite certain of is that what is happening is that a gigaton of threads are sitting idle for hours and eventually the residual memory garbage from them makes the garbage collector go insane and burn CPU nonstop, and the only fix is to restart the relay, which is not good architecture by my standards (imo, it should run forever, and be able to reconfigure hot, and ideally even if you must restart with new code, hold all the open sockets and resume their state correctly
that's a bit intense to actually implement but when it works, you have a codebase that everyone will use, forevermore amen
Finding the problem has value, even if you decide to redo it, afterward. There is clearly something going on, that you don't fully understand. You should find out what that is. Then you know more.
I don't actually burn out of testing or reporting bugs. I spent 5 years doing that all day, every day.
I burn out on the attitude of the person I'm testing and reporting for.
haha lol, just saw this
i'm already tearing it up and starting on a new parchment lol
but by all means, if someone can find the problem, i'm just sure it's a very high level problem and not one that you see without drowning in it
yeah, i'm sure it is, but i didn't think i altered the base i worked from that much and i strongly suspect it's a pervasive architectural bug
that's why in my downtime i'm focusing on honing the performance of the primitives as regards to their memory use, and soon transitioning to start studying the alternative relay implementations i can pick from to bulid a new core to put my sharpened things into
Yeah, this probably needs a review. Lots of difficult bugs do.
@npub10np…tl5h @npub1226…grkj @npub1gnw…errq @npub1qdj…fqm7 could you do a code-walkthrough with him? He's probably overseeing something obvious because he's looking at the same code over and over.
Let's party like it's 1999. 😂
Yeah, it be like pets.com, all over again. 😂
The underpants gnomes are back. This time on Nostr and make it FOSS and it's grants instead of IPOs.
https://i.nostr.build/jY5nr.jpg
yeah, that's why i'm getting more and more methodical with what i actually do and why i'm dialing back my paid hours so i can dedicate more time to sharpening the blades
Yeah, we have a reputation to protect because we're planning on being here from now on and earning money through the daily grind from actual paying customers.
Whether that be people who hire us for contract work, subscribers, zappers, etc.
We know people will be looking at what we've built, to know if they can trust us to build the next thing. If what we've built is a hot mess, then good luck with that.
exactly, the customer is not the user, so quality is not important, only how it presents at the grant presentation meetings
also, i'm in this business... i have very bad feels about how replicatr runs after 24 hours, it's not usable for production, and i tried for almost a full month to fix that bug (and fixed several bugs but not this one)
this is the problem of grant-driven development
all the reliable stuff is from people who are actually counting on making some part of their living from the work
PSA
this is what i think when i see "bluesky"
https://i.nostr.build/eZGz3.jpg

childlike spirit still burning bright
i'm not the best at making stuff stable enough for anyone to use it but when people do i have such bad feels when i disappoint them
sorry, refactoring, bbl
#nevent1q…2apc
The development scene is just a mirror of the dating scene.
#nevent1q…c2n2
Although, this is just our scene.
Most devs on here are just hackers, I think. They grew up anon on GitHub, and never had to personally face scrutiny, so they don't actually care if their stuff works because they just ghost, if too many people complain.
Aww🥰 I'm fortunate to have a few people around who don't consider me expendable & they get the full gambit, for better or worse😂
I think a lot of people don't get *why* I consider it a quality measure. It says
1) I expect my stuff to work.
2) I have bad feels when it doesn't work.
3) I know checking to make sure it works is also work.
4) People should be paid for their work.
5) Thank you for working for me.
meh, they would be making a bad move to let it divide you tho
the prohibition of localhost networks on browsers is such bs
i'm sure there is a way to get a chrome browser to allow it but i gave up hunting for a way and just used my vpn tunnel and reverse proxy
it is actually easier to do this on mozilla but i hate mozilla so bad... i don't forget the nutscrape days
yeah, i'm second to my boss who is 55 and energetic
I think I'm still the oldest person on our team.
makes you wonder where all the beef fat has gone
double interesting how such hard core low level guys and some even antiques are in this
wait, i might be approaching vintage tho
It might not be the best but I'm a huge fan of coconut oil.
You can use it for cooking, hair- and skin-care and it's been used for these usecases by countless cultures over many centuries/millenia.
It's also cheap, easy to produce yourself and you can find it everywhere nowadays.
your works betray your fidelity
also, that earth circuit, wasn't
that's why the 12V line was leaking through the household wires
yeah, it's an essential piece of equipment in these times of galactic magnetic field rotation
💀 just from touching a case damn, I don’t think I’ve heard of a earth mat tho, I’m guessing it’s something like a yoga mat you can plug into the ground.
Beleagured power users tell you what they really think. 😂
the earth is a capacitor... all forms of "earth" are capacitors
all capacitors store electrons in electrostatic form, where the electrons get stuck in orbits around positively charged atoms, and release it when each + is balanced by a -
it reminds me
a fully faraday shielded space could have internal earthing with a nice big fat supercap
supercaps are not even hard to manufacture
literally charcoal dust on each pole separated by a thin layer of glass
the storage density of supercaps is quite incredible, i think it's nearly on par with NiMH batteries, and the materials are way cheaper than nickel metal
i'm going to think more about this in the future because i have plans of making me an isolated bunker house with protection from a possible cosmic thunderbolt
we don't hate them for our amusement, we are trying to convey what they sent to us
yeah, i'm feeling amazingly better after ~3 weeks spending over 18h a day mostly earthed, i have an earth mat at my pc and an earth sheet on my bed, and i can tell that my house's earth circuit is good... if you don't have this situation where you live, hire an electrician to fix your earth
i've literally experienced earthing to bad earth circuits that have power leaking into them and you can feel it when you are in a very low energy relaxed tired state, and it actually saps your energy
bad earth circuits were kinda common in the balkans from my experience... one place in serbia i was for a while was so bad you got 12V zaps from touching computer cases!
I’ve been doing it for maybe a week or so, and it honesty makes sense, why not recharge ourselves with the earth like a battery it all sounds like common knowledge, idk why they don’t teach people more of this. Just wasn’t expecting it to kick in this soon.
of course back up your accounts lol
when earthed, we receive signals from the resonant cavity of the atmosphere that help set our internal clocks to match with where we are
i'm one of those nutty #golang programmers and the last 6 years i have been immersed in programming systems that have very strong synchronisation requirements and for me it is easy to understand how complex webs of processes in a production system fail when they lose access to core (common) clocks and sync fails
to me it is obvious... Jack Kruse is a quantum biologist researcher who also says a lot about the importance of receiving the signals from the earth's radio resonant cavity and you can learn a lot more about how and why touching grass is such a thing - or why household wireless networks are bullshit also
yeah, and next doesn't update notifications properly
beef dripping is a better fat to use for this, it is much harder (higher stearate content) and provides some rigidity that improves the way your hair falls (aka body)
cacao butter is pretty good this way too but the price of that is about to go to the moon so i'd suggest go with dripping
coconut oil is not bad, but it's not as good as these two
lol, you are rather suggestible
i advise dropping a 50kg rock on top of the phone and buying a pixel and installing graphene
or at least a cheap android phone, still better
yeah, this is why i don't carry my passport around, it sits on my desk, nice and safe in low crime Ginjas
the local cops never stop me at all, and almost everyone only takes cash here, except a few of the more busy vendors (supermarkets, restaurants and chinese general store)
and my "wallet" is a thing that wraps around my shoulder or hips and is constructed so even if i forget to close the zips it doesn't drop things from it
i don't mean this to be negative towards your loss of your critical things, nor do i envy your upcoming efforts to recover these documents, but this is how i roll, and this is why i roll this way
i don't even carry my mobile phone outside, it serves mainly as my server's backup internet if the house power goes down, and worst case scenario most of the EFT terminals will probably let me use gpay hooked up to my xapo virtual card, which i can set up in a half hour or so, if i need it, even if my whole house is powered down, and not just at home but anywhere there is a functioning mobile network providing connection to my phone service
the reality is that the "authorities" don't have lawful right to demand you present to them delicate, losable and critical identity information in the first place, carrying that around without backup is insane, and an onerous requirement of simply walking around the place you live in, and for that matter, it's onerous to require papers please even when you are traveling
all that stuff should be securely stored in your hotel's safe or at least inside your hotel room
that any of this basic opsec is being compromised so bad by the government policies of today should tell you that they don't give a fuck about your life, your security, nor do they care to do anything that actually protects you and allows you to thrive and bloom
they actually want you to starve, suffer and die, and like carrion eaters, feast on your loss
i literally even run my own instance of nostrudel, in case i get rugged by a bad update (he's on holidays now so there isn't gonna be any changes for a few weeks yet)
Yeah, I'm like, whatever. I'm done feeling like I'm nagging them to do the job they are literally being paid to do.
I will use our own apps and Nostrudel.
yes, lightning makes it a more graduated rugging, which protects both sides from mischief better
it makes it so it's better to act in good faith, truly a genius design and actually grew out of a deep study of the architecture of the bitcoin scripting language
the history is obscured to some extent, but the reason why Mohammed did his thing was because of the virulent plague of polytheists who were claiming to be under the mantle of Christianity
between 300-500AD, the former Roman Empire turned Roman Catholic Church and essentially denominated all of the forms of european paganism to be actually christianity, thus we have the Trinity and this worship of Mary, and the proliferation of statues of mary with the pigeons around her and her son who is actually an icon of ancient babylonian (~6400 years ago) propaganda story about the empire of Babylon which is not the one that modern historians talk about, but one that was obliterated by a massive global disaster 6400 years ago
this is a toxic cult of manipulators, cannibals and rapists whose temples are charnelhouses, and a more recent overt form of it was the city of Carthage which was burned to the ground, because of its obscene trading in human flesh
the eastern church dialed back the polytheism, and only permitted icons, which were considered to not be "graven" because they were applied with paint, and thus were not negatively created
the muslims rejected this on the abstract level as being the same thing, and i would argue that for similar reasons, a good muslim would not publish a selfie, indeed, the entire edifice of photography is a temptation to create icons and idols
the "protestants" were a fake movement of atheists, aka satanists, who wanted to reinstitute the government of god kings, and they set about a centuries long process of normalising usurious fake (money substitute) currencies, copyright, and democracy
when i was surrounded by muslims in my time in prison, i heard a great expression that i liked a lot: "democratic muslims" which was a slur against modernistic fake muslims who do the salah but then whore themselves to shaitan all day long
ironically, several of the muslims i was surrounded by were literally this kind of fake, they played at their salah like it was a computer game and not because of its benefit (in fact, a key benefit of salah is earthing)
i don't identify as a muslim, or christian, or taoist, or buddhist, probably i more identify as a christian really, but my reading of the biblical texts tells me that the islamic interpretation is more correct, in principle
yet at the same time, i also abhor the generic muslim sectarian worship of mohammed, the literal saturnine black cube in Medina and the Hajj
if you look carefully at the islamic prayer, it literally is exactly the same as the Lord's Prayer that was dispensed by Jesus in the New Testament's first four books, i mean, almost word for word, the same thing
the machinations of the fallen Archangel, with his many names, Satan, Saturn, Lucifer, continue until this day, and only the ignorant and brainwashed don't understand this legacy
the Judgement is coming soon, because all of the predictions of the angelic science say that this cycle will burn the human species to the ground (ie, extinction for all humans on this earth) and by one way or another, which i don't pretend to know, but have a strong inkling about the nature of, there will be the harvest, and the chaff will be left to burn in the global conflagration that is coming
This is a fun one, from Damus. Yes, @npub1xts…kk5s knows about it. I get these complaints every day, from a different person.

People keep telling me to report stuff, but I'm actually one of the most-prolific reporters.
When someone comes out with a new client and has hardly any users, then I try to be patient and understanding. But some of this stuff has been around for months or even over a year and they just keep pushing new features into the broken stuff and making it more broken.
Each release contains both bug-fixes and new bugs. Nothing every matures, nothing ever gets revamped or refactored.
Like, look at Snort. I started out on there and now it's completely unusable. Literally doesn't work. 🤷♀️

Seems to be working, now.
I can barely type something in. And it's been like that for weeks.
These are not obscure features.
Here's another one.
@npub1m4n…c2jl what’s this ? https://image.nostr.build/4716f19ac6203ccbf786659529e1c09792d16795d564087a34e5c4e6407a8f91.jpg https://njump.me/nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzpwqf2yaxeqmhlhl2kzszlvsx8cdmknsuz3h23zq5k8z64chrdcdeqqsw3cwud8w8m7l6rnrrhvxjjn7wf5lxfaqms8ued8fmrf9lm0z29yccxk3nq
i'm not sure, i used to run things like this in 2017 and they paid me about $10/day
it means that bad people who own most of the internet can't stop you from writing anything and sharing that with others
also, he doesn't live in MENA where it is very hot right now, where i imagine you are also living
i live on the north side of the island of Madeira, off the coast of mauritania, and on the south it is warm and dry, and here, all year around, it's barely going over 20'C
i probably should get one of these air conditioners to warm my place
it pays him, so the heat is good
this is why i am instituting a new work routine for myself
gonna do 20h/wk (4 x 5h days, ~84h/month) on my paid gig (was previously doing 130) and spending the other free 36h or so - pretty much 3 days a week on nostr and 4 days a week to get money to do 3 days a week on nostr
it's a pay cut but i am well above subsistence on typical dev wages and i'm sure that given time i'll garner a higher paid job because i spend so much of my downtime sharpening my tools
yes, it's like the internet except the servers (relays) are controlled by many people instead of just a few
Here you go, from this week, just some evidence of problems we've seen

We also had patchy usage of Amber, Citrine, Flycat, and Yakihonne (signing crashes my browser).
These are from the apps that *usually* work. So, this is the best of web dev. Most of the other apps barely work, at all, or they use so many resources that I can't use them on my machine.
haha, quite the opposite, it is blowing very warm air
silicon and copper and plastics, with a spice of rare earth metals and other miscellaneous materials
yeah, it's quite an extraordinary rig... that's a liquid cooling fan assembly on the right, the main processor is the thing connected to it on the top left
he probably is way overclocking it

i bought their catalog and am listening to it in flawless FLAC right now (on decent dual driver speakers) and i absolutely love the hell out of Dahlia's Tear - some of the most atmospheric and uplifting but relaxing music i have ever heard
this artist might well be on par with Trent Reznor in their mastery of the craft of creating a texture from classical types of sounds, pianos, timpani, tube chimes, brass bells
nuttiest thing i've ever seen is a custom of #madeira - firing simple boom fireworks (just a battery of rockets that fire in a sequence) and all they do is make one big flash and smoke and a giant boom that resonates around the valleys that dominate the settled areas of this island
in the middle of the day
no surprise that while cats are represented here (and a lot of white ones, notably) the entire chain of atlantic islands is well known for their love of dogs and the dogs go ballistic on the boom boom as well... they even named one of the island groups after the fact that the residents love their hounds
(because being right all the time gets boring)
it's not meant to be a curse but a blessing from the wise
if you succeed, you will literally have proven them wrong, this is something the wise like to happen
😂 Sherry wants the full Wall of Shame.
